Look, pups have problems. It's a fact of life. And what is life about but community? Now's your chance for your pup to get some advice from peers. Post in, and other folks will answer IC. Kinda like Dear Abby, but... well, you know this lot.

(You can also ask your irresponsible uncle Mark Antony directly; it was his birthday yesterday and he's still feeling pretty generous, even though you didn't get him anything. ^_^ )

And you could ask advice for your own problems if you really wanted to, but management takes no responsibility, etc.

Gene-- Women certainly aren't pointless.

Decoration is a purpose. Having heirs is a purpose. Not to mention dressing in gladiator outfits and feeding you pears--there's plenty of point to them.

Stupid, now... in many cases, yes. But you wouldn't want a world with just men in it. How dull would that be?


Harry-- Tell them you had a vision, or a priestess or something told you? Depends on how they need to be saved, I suppose. If charm doesn't work, try threats.

If the person related to your crush is sour, selfish, and manipulative, then trying to get him or her to like you (or even not dislike you) is really not worth the effort. You'll save yourself a lot of time and trouble if you just decide not to care what this person thinks.

Stay focused on the guy you want to marry, because if he likes you enough and he's worth having at all, he'll stick with you no matter what his batshit crazy relatives say.

Jane-- Have you tried bribery? There has to be something that your relative wants that you can help them get. Failing that, sooner or later we all have to do what our family expects of us, and if it means marrying someone we didn't really want to marry, well, that's how it goes. There's always discreet infidelity.

Sameth-- I find that personal honor helps. We're all going to die anyway, so would you rather be known as a dead coward or a dead hero? Dead heroes get remembered, and their afterlives are happy; dead cowards get forgotten, or worse, and will be miserable for all time. And if it doesn't kill you, you may get your own parade.

William-- If you mean the actual contacting of a spirit, some priests may be your best bet. If he's already there and you don't know what to say to him, be honest. He can probably see everything you do and say anyway. What do you say to any person?

They aren't all like that (although yeah, a lot of them are). But they're kind of dense sometimes. Also, men and women often don't use the same communication styles. He may be misinterpreting you and you may be trying to read between the lines when there's nothing there. Reading You Just Don't Understand (http://www.amazon.com/You-Just-Dont-Understand-Conversation/dp/0345372050) may help you bridge the gap.

Peeta-- ...why do other people need convincing? Either they'll believe it or they won't. Have you tried showy actions and great deeds to prove affection? Conquer something, maybe? Send her gifts? Never underestimate the value of a good bribe.

Well, you should start by building the transportation infrastructure: secure routes, set up distribution points... you need an actual mode of transportation, and a road or something liker it, unless you have air transport available.

No, it's not easy. Start with people who seem willing to help for free, then mention to those, later, the possible need to hire or cajole more people into the initiative.

Colene used to be in a relationship. Due to circumstances beyond her control, they were separated and she was unable to get in touch with him for a long period of time. When she had the opportunity to see him again, she was in a bad situation. He misunderstood what was going on and made some false (and hurtful) accusations. Needless to say, they broke up.

Her ex apologized later on, and they're back to being friends. There's a part of Colene that wants to rekindle their relationship (and she thinks the feeling is mutual), but she's not sure if she should, given that when push came to shove he didn't entirely trust her in spite of all the things they've been through together. She's not sure what she should do.

Rosalie would also like to know if it's wrong to flirt with people when you're married. It's a horrible habit, she knows, but she can't seem to stop-- especially when someone's not responding to her good looks like most men do.

John would like to point out to Lore that a direct hostile takeover next to impossible given the number of potential combatants and level of force often brought to force by them, especially those who are gods. He suggests instead forming a series of social alliances in order to gain control that is less likely to be directly opposed, and which should also allow him access to multiple universes.
