Daily Entertainment.

Brought on by a rather horrific dream this morning:

What is your pup's worst nightmare?

*tries not to look at David Shen* SRY MAL.

Thanks to canon, Sariel's worst nightmare involves restraints, jagged edges and clickity aliens. Brrrr!

*hugs Steph* Nightmares sucketh unfiltered Green Bay bay water through a straw. Ugh.

I think that's a reasonable one for, oh, Anyone Who Works In Space. Given there is great possibility to run into all three in the same location.

Also, oh nice icon. *grin*

Heh, fair point. Sariel did run into all three at once, through no fault of her own, and not at all by choice. Fortunately, that wasn't the end of things.

*grins* That icon is courtesy the milliclaus exchange. <3! This one is not. XD

They all involve the deaths of family members or spouses.

I do not have a type, shut up.

[identity profile] spooky-lemur.livejournal.com 2011-02-01 01:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Ben's would be the death of family or friends and being powerless to stop it. Or at least that's what I think, we'll see this summer with Marvel's latest big event. I'm just glad it's not a crossover.

Ult. Ben's would be being alone with no friends or family.

Jessica would be losing her mind again.

Val is another for losing family and friends.

Barbie's would be losing her career.

Yrael: Something really bad happens to a friend of his, usually they are dead in a horrible way, and he is blamed for it. Then all his friends agree that he should be locked away - for his own good - until he is able to always be safe around them. Usually it ends with his friends trapping him in something the general size of a shoebox, and forgetting about him. Moving on, dying, leaving. Leaving him in there, forever waiting for them to let him out again.

Zelgadiss: Recurring nightmare of Rezo turning him into a chimera. Zel had trusted Rezo absolutely before that, practically hero-worshiping him, and even the foreknowledge of how the dream is going to turn out doesn't give him the ability to change it.

Sunshine: Always has nightmares. Usually to do with vampires and blood. Recurring ones are when she is wearing a dress made of blood, or is a vampire, or is being turned into something evil through her contact with evil.

Wow. I hadn't realized my pups had so many nightmares... >_>

Yrael's is kind of heartbreaking. And also frightening for those of us with claustrophobia...
mogget_cat: (Default)

[personal profile] mogget_cat 2011-02-01 08:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeaaaaaah.

Yrael actually spent over a century locked away in the deepest basement of the Abhorsen's House, by a particularly untrusting Abhorsen. He was only found by accident by that Abhorsen's grandson, who had never heard of him, and hadn't known he was there to be found. It was a hundred years of darkness, and the awareness of the world moving on without him, up above.

So, yeah.

Hi! btw. :D
skidmo: (Default)

[personal profile] skidmo 2011-02-01 08:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah...that's kind of my worst nightmare. Minus the Abhorsen business. :)

Hi! >.> I really ought to put Nikola in the bar again soon...

I concur! Will you be around tonight?

Cy's is to turn into a machine completely. Followed by reliving the accident.

Kirk's is to die alone. Followed by watching everyone else die under his command.

Knox's is the Joker. Distantly followed by spending the rest of his life alone.

Charlie relives his deaths, the one from cancer and the one from almost drowning and freezing to death at once.

Gibbs is in the maelstrom.

Gordon has recurring nightmares of every time he almost died at Black Mesa and didn't, only the nightmares are of him actually dying over and over again. (Translation: Gordon's nightmares are all the times I had to reload because I accidentally killed him during the course of gameplay.)

Adrian gets some nasty ones along the way, but his worst is one from his childhood that occasionally ambushes him out of nowhere: of being very small and standing on a rock on top of a hill as the world is washed away around him, and the water just keeps getting bigger and bigger and bigger.

Neither Ellen nor Arcade will tell me what their dreams are like.

I don't want to know what Medic's dreams are like. I'd have to take a shower afterward. With Lysol. And steel wool.

I don't know if Mordin or Vergil even have dreams. Mordin's species canonically sleeps only one hour out of twenty-four; Vergil rests and recharges but I don't know if Huragok sleep is anything like human sleep.

Belar doesn't sleep, period. His brother Torak did, but Torak was doing time until he could get up and get into a fight over the destiny of the world, and his brother Issa sleeps, but Issa is the Snake God and he's weird. (Yes, Belar is the Bear God. Polar bears don't hibernate unless they're pregnant.)

And Ray... uff. Every so often Ray has a dream that just involves the voice of Nyarlathotep chuckling at him. Nothing else, no imagery, no other sounds, nothing. But it's Nyarlafrickinthotep. That qualifies.

[identity profile] spooky-lemur.livejournal.com 2011-02-01 03:40 pm (UTC)(link)
But it's Nyarlafrickinthotep. That qualifies.

Hell yeah it does. Just having that entity know of you is nightmare worthy.

Is it bad that I read through the entirety of Gordon's and still feel bad for him even if I'm laughing?

Rachel's nightmares include various morphs that went horribly wrong - most usually ant or shrew, plus any recent happenings that were disgusting or horrible - former battles where she and her friends come off worse, or she's forced to watch them die, former battles where she watches herself be horrifically violent...

Those are the normal nightmares. There's also nightmares including one particular rat and the single red eye that watches over Mordor that can be summed up most easily as the Animorph version of Satan.

Oddly enough, this is all canon and I feel like I'm missing some. D:

Helena's worst nightmare has her reliving the night her family was assassinated in front of her.

[identity profile] rowanberries.livejournal.com 2011-02-01 04:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Mmmost of mine have nightmares about not being in control in one way or another - Jack about being alone and in the dark; Havelock about losing his grip on his many, many plans (and just occasionally relives the few occasions he's gone up against something that can overpower him completely and effortlessly against all the rules of his world thank you ever so much Milliways); Shelley about being trapped in one way or another in general, and about improbably good-looking and utterly horrific human beings doing said trapping in specific.

Harth's nightmares... um. Are squicky on many levels, and plus the whole prophetic/Slayer dream thing, are complicated.

Sabriel's nightmares tend to either be about Kerrigor or the freed!Yrael that tried to eat her eyes that one time, or about losing her husband and children while off being Abhorsen. Sadly, all three of these things are perfectly rational things for her to be afraid of.

Amascut's is probably being turned into a Tormented Demon. Being on fire forever, being so miserable that using your own broken ribs as projectile weapons sounds like a good idea, and being bound to serve mortal filth (Well, the mahjarrat are nearly immortal and have only been killed by gods, other mahjarrat, and whatever horrors they were running from in their native realm, but still filthy filthy mortals that try to be immortal.)

Angel kills himself. But you didn't hear it from me.

Close second, Buffy doesn't remember him.
gorgonfondness: (Ghaleon reading to Mia)

[personal profile] gorgonfondness 2011-02-01 06:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Mia: Reliving memories of her campaign against Ghaleon (both ones when he hurts her and ones when she hurts him; he is essentially her stepfather). Reliving the time when Xenobia was disguised as her mother, knowing her real mother is locked up in the dungeon but not having the power to do anything about it. The worst of it would be if something similar ever happened to Draco or Cepheus, particularly if Death Eaters are involved.

Lucas: Oh geeeeeeeeeez, poor Lucas. D: Reliving the night of his mother's death is a big one for him. The only one that's gonna top that is at the end of canon when he learns the Masked Man is Claus brought back from the dead and made into a mechanical chimera, who then remembers who he is, commits suicide, and dies in Lucas's arms. That's gonna be kind of hard to top.

Will's are about his being tortured again, his friends being hurt or dying and there's nothing he can do to save him or variations on that.

Sameth are the necromancer with added flavors now of sometimes the necromancer trying to hurt Kait instead of just him.

Moist's is getting caught, he doesn't have nightmares very often but that or back in Uberwald with walls around him.

Jane's is being a failure at everything she does.

Demeter's is losing Kore again and with no way she can get her back.

William's is burying his brother or his mother beside his father with the sound of gunshots.

Tumnus' is being a statue again and losing time and letting Lucy down.

The Pirate King's is getting caught and losing his ship.

Nikola doesn't dream, but if he did, it would be something along the lines of being human again... >.> *eyes canon*

Teyla's canonically has to do with either turning into a Wraith or being unable to protect her friends.

Lorne's canonically is the Replicators taking over Atlantis and him having to chase them down barefoot.

Posner's involves showing up to the Oxbridge exams in his underwear and being asked a question about some obscure event in Canadian history that he's never even heard of.

Tolkien's is outliving his children and/or letting the Archipelago fall to the Winter King and/or Jack going evil...

Lucifer again doesn't dream, but if he did his worst nightmare would be ending up a servant of Heaven again.

Hatter's is being forced to give up the Resistance to the Queen.

Mikey's is Brian and/or his mom and/or Emmett and/or Ted and/or his uncle dying. That David doesn't make the list doesn't worry him as much as it probably should.
