Plot of a Valentine sort
I know you guys totally want some Valentine centered plot right? And even better if it's being served by everyone's favorite toddler, right?
Right.
SO!
a_is_for_amy suggested that Boo match people up for Valetine's Day. And because Eros-mun is so awesome, she agreed to let Boo find Eros' love/indifference guns in Lost and Found. And so a great plot idea was born.
Here is what you need to know about the guns and their effects, straight from Eros-mun's keyboard to you!
How the guns work:
* There are two guns, just like there are two kinds of bullets. In mythology, Eros typically shoots arrows of love but he can also be called upon to shoot arrows of indifference; in the modern spin these are the bullets. The love bullets are made of gold, and if cracked open the will spill out dove feathers instead of gunpowder. The indifference bullets are made of lead and stuffed with owl feathers. The gun works without gunpowder with thanks to ~*~god magic~*~, though it's also Millicanon that the love bullets are particularly tricky (being made of gold and all) and are prone to misfire if you are anyone but Eros.
* When someone is shot by the bullets of love, they will feel an impact, enough to sting for a moment but not enough to bruise—think being hit with a rubber band. They will also be stunned for roughly ten seconds. During that time they will be unresponsive and unaware of the world around them. If a second person is shot within the same ten seconds, then the pair will fall in love with each other once the daze wears off. If only one person is shot and then recovers from the daze without someone else being hit, then that person will fall in love with the first person he or she sees.
* Since Eros isn't firing the gun, and therefore doesn't have his godly influence to back up the spell, it will wear off within about 24-48 hours. No longer than that. There is a bit of leeway for mun preference though.
* Falling love with a new person doesn't replace or overwrite any previous love. So: Veronica currently loves Mills, but is shot and falls for McCoy. She doesn't love Mills any less. The love bullets only create love.
The indifference bullets:
* These bullets are the opposite of the love bullets, in that they destroy love. They do not make hate; hate is anathema to Eros, his polar opposite, and he cannot stand for any to exist in the world. Thus: indifference. If someone is in love and is shot by one of these bullets, this attitude will be replaced by a general 'meh'. Effectively the relationship is reset to zero, as though the two characters had never met.
* This spell lasts for roughly the same duration as the one above, but during that time no new relationship can be built. Maybe it was love at first sight when the characters originally met, but during the spell if they meet it will be as significant as a stranger on the street asking you the time. No one affected by the spell can fall in love or become friends with the person with whom they were previously in a relationship.
* The traditional version of this spell acts on one relationship, not a person's whole outlook, but muns can use that variant if they really want. In that case the person is indifferent towards just about everything: food tastes bland, action movies are dull, conversation is droning.
Important notes:
* It's important to note that Eros has no sense of taboo about love. He is love incarnate, in all of its many forms, so there's no age/gender/species gap that will physically stop these bullets. This iffy sense of morality is something I explored when playing him since I didn't just want a crack character, though it's probably not something you're keen on getting into for a couple-day crackplot featuring a toddler. I'm just putting it out there so that you know that if Boo shoots someone and then shoots, say, a goat, that person will fall in love with the goat (and vice versa). There is no resisting the effects of the bullets. These bullets manufacture consent. So from an OOC perspective, though I'm sure I don't need to say this, clear everything with the muns involved first.
* Other than making a person fall in love with someone with whom they might not otherwise fall in love, the bullets do not make a person act out-of-character. They're not going to make Gene Hunt pull out the acoustic guitar and serenade someone with 'Your body is a wonderland,' for example. They're going to act the way they normally would if they suddenly and all-consumingly fell in love with another person. If that includes lusty feelings then this experience will definitely be tinged with lust, but if the person is typically very chaste they're not going to spend all day imagining tearing the other person's underpants off with their teeth. This is again to defer to mun preference and to avoid the noncon implications of this kind of plot—no one has to write (or even handwave) smut if they don't want to.
Okay, on the guns themselves:
* Since there are characters out there who will recognize such things, the guns are a modified Dan Wesson PPC Revolver design.
* Neither gun will ever run out of bullets, no matter how many times it is fired. Both guns have decent kickback, but make very little sound when fired.
* The gun holding love bullets is gold in colour, with a brushed metal finish. Along the barrel there is a delicate carving of a heart and a wing shape.

* The indifference gun is grey-black and much heavier than its counterpart. Along the barrel is a rough, jagged carving that's harder to interpret, but which vaguely depicts a wing built of half-heart shapes.

I know what you're thinking: "OMG THIS SOUNDS AWESOME! WHERE DO I SIGN UP?" I am going to throw up an EP tomorrow morning saying Boo found the guns and is shooting nameless people. I am going to be around randomly tomorrow, and I don't want you guys to have to wait on me for the awesomeness to begin. So to simplify things, let's just say if you want your pup shot, s/he is shot with whatever results you think would cause the most hilarity for all. But I'm also up for threading out Boo shooting people if you'd rather do that - I just don't want you guys to HAVE to wait on me. If you want Boo to shoot someone, give me a link to the thread you want her in, or tag on her EP and it shall happen ASAP! I am 100% flexible.
I'm not sure if we are cleared for using a real tag for plot, so for now let's just say tiny!tag=Valentine's Day Plot.
And if you need clarification on anything, just let me know! My AIM is booksofferlife, and of course you can comment here with any questions too!

I'm also stalking this post, in case anyone has technical questions that haven't been answered so far. Plot's all Lai, but I'm here for any gun questions.

There will be a plot post on the morrow, just hold out until then. ~G~

Also, I have a handful of pups, if anyone who like to have any of mine fixate on theirs (or vice versa) for a day or two!

I'm so tempted to drag Katniss!mun into this and have Peeta hit with a bullet of indifference for two days. Utter indifference instead of cold hate-because-I-love-you would be so confusing. >_>

But all of my pups are available, for anyone who might want them. >_>
YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME.

My pups are toootally available: Melpomene, Olive, Lamia, and Dr. Horrible.
Hehe.

I have Jacob, Nori, Chekov, and Finvarra open for this.

WHY ISN'T THE WORLD TUMBLR?
I will be at work all day like a loser but if anyone's still up for it around 6pm Melbourne time - which is GMT+11 currently - so, like, 3am for most of you ... oh, fuckit, this isn't gonna work.
ALLOW ME TO REGISTER MY APPROVAL OF THIS PLOT ANYWAY. I will read the ensuing hijinks with great pleasure!

The post says 'When someone is shot by the bullets of love, they will feel an impact, enough to sting for a moment but not enough to bruise—think being hit with a rubber band. They will also be stunned for roughly ten seconds.'
Is it the same for indifference bullets, I.E. stinging impact and then stunned?

I'd probably guess yes, but let's let her have the final say.
