So, after consulting all 240+ of my icons, I think it's definitely this one. I mean, look at those two bodies falling at the same rate! Not to mention it's a beautifully rendered reference to one of my favourite things ever.

I just wish I knew who drew it. I've had it forever, and nicked it off of someone who nicked it off of someone else, so there was no credit to be found.

It's my favorite and my longest, I'm pretty sure, since it's been around something like six or seven years. This is Amanda Collins/White from The Witching House. It encapsulates a lot of her, the story, and the meanings of it for me.

I. I have to CHOOSE?

This one's high on my list, anyway. It's gorgeous, for one thing; for another thing, Suki is awesome and badass and fantastic, and I love her in this scene, where she's facing down a powerful and ruthless Firebender with sharp fans, body armor, and pure determination. Odds of her winning are really, really low, and she knows that, and she does it anyway. The keywords are "i will walk through the fire" with comment "whether or not it burns," because that's kind of the point.

I am not as badass as Suki. But all the same.

river_meimei: ALL OF THEM EVER HOW CAN I CHOOSE um how about this one? I mostly use it in less serious contexts than the original scene, but it proves Summer Glau's ability to make hilarious faces. Frequently when I do use it, the actual text of the comment feels like an afterthought.

3nanashi: This one, however, is easy! This icon works for seriously every thread ever. He could be acquiescing! He could be pointedly not commenting! He could be mulling things over! He could be having silent issues with authority, i.e. ignoring it! He could be literally looking down at something! I could be highlighting his ridiculous hairdo! I have used it in all these contexts and many more.

regan_tam: I don't really have a strong favorite. However, this one cracks me up because I have it keyworded "warm fake smile," "warm genuine smile," and "warm social smile," and it works for all three. I find that telling for her; she does have real emotions, and she shows them, but she's also totally immersed in a social role where you're expected to always be polite and friendly unless you're making a very strong statement, and it's very hard to tease apart the layers of real and fake.

taishar_malkier: Lan would not be so gauche as to ask if you are a village idiot (except when he would) or, Light forfend, make an actual expression. But he will give you the side-eye a little, as if to suggest that perhaps you are on the crack.

steelartisan: CHOICES ARE HARD. He makes so many hilarious expressions! Even if I use his assorted manpainy ones more. I think, in the end, I will opt for this one that I almost never use, because it makes me giggle so much. He's so matter-of-fact! And so much of his job does, in fact, entail being the one to go punch an oncoming truck or hoist three people or whatever. (But runner-up went to this. I don't think I've ever used it in a thread, because that's really not his self-image, but it cracks me up. Thank you, Emma Frost, for your commentary.)

This took me half the morning to do. I will come back for the ones I barely play, maybe.

I do love this one. Jane Eyre has long been one of my favorite books, and I adore the 2006 BBC adaptation (while ignoring the heck out of most others).

Also I love hiking and getting out in nature, so it has that going for it too, which is nice.

And I am definitely going to cheat and choose one from Mars and one from Ashes, as there is a sub-section of fandom that insists they are entirely seperate canons (idek).

So for Mars, I am choosing this one because it is just so Sam-Gene. Two stubborn gits who will both happily cross their arms and pout and frown and dig their heels in and refuse to be wrong - but are still mates, and will perch on the bonnet of the Cortina and chat together (even if it ends up in a row).

But I could have chosen another ten, easily. My favourite changes depending on what Gene's up to at any one time.

This icon for Mia. It sums up everything about her in the simplest way possible: her sweet, girly, easygoing nature along with her romance with Draco. Not to mention that I find striped stockings very witch-y.
