Not long enough. Today promises to be a very long day, as do the next two weeks. (Press preview, FY12 budget planning, and much, much more). So I could have used a third day of weekend in there somewhere.
That said, was a good weekend. Got some RP in (despite not really wanting much to do with Mardi Gras), got my taxes done, got some stuff done around the house, and watched a few things. Been plowing my way through S1 of Dexter. A good show, but flawed.
I love Dexter. I love how skillfully they show his flashes of utterly not understanding human emotion ("I wonder what gave him the idea that I want to be his friend?") compared to his superb cover of being a nice guy. (Aside from the killing.) One thing I like about Dexter: he's a character who utterly understands himself, and part of understanding himself is that he knows there's a part of himself that he'll never understand.
Agreed that he is a great character with a great actor embodying the role. And others have told me that S2 is better. I'm just a little surprised at how the identity of the Ice Truck Killer is telegraphed and how readily the show reveals it to us. I thought that could have been done better.
Finished a book that I ended up not liking (The Replacement), nursed a sick son, started a new book in the hope that my third grade class will enjoy it once I'm done (Elliot and the Goblin War), and now think I might be catching what my son has.
I did manage to get an OOM posted for Rapunzel and had a fun thread or two, so all in all the weekend wasn't completely wasted.
Oh! I was also very excited to find SHAMROCKS at the grocery store! I don't know why this makes me so happy, but I buy them every year and last years are about to give up the ghost, so it was time for a new pot.
AMY! I NEED YOUR E-MAIL ADDRESS! Uh, because I made you that animated icon you wanted a few weeks back, and I haven't seen you in chat. So, whenever you can -- or you can ping me: LordoLorien.
Kinda painful. I've had a backache for over a week that's pretty severe. Or it was until I went to the doctor a week ago for muscle relaxers and generic Vicodin. I've got another appointment today.
Otherwise, the weekend was spent figuring out what I'm gonna do to my pups for Mardi Gras. I'm even gonna tie it to Lucas's current plot.
My weekend was fabulous! My birthday was on Saturday and I went to a St. Patrick's Day parade/party in Ise. And then I did karaoke with friends on Sunday and got CARROT CAKE that one of them made for me! ♥
I've picked up a bronchial infection so I am now home from work and completely unable to enjoy it as there is no room in my head for thoughts. Only snot and pain.
I tend to attack those with an expectorant [something that loosens the phlegm], a cough suppresant [so that when you DO cough, it's productive, but you're not hacking yourself into pain], and tylenol. And lots and lots of tea. ]: I hope you feel better soon
Panodil and Tylenol are brand names of the same generic drug -paracetamol/acetaminophen, so you're probably solid :D. Sorry, I didn't realize Tylenol wasn't sold in Denmark. Best of luck
I'ma complete ignoramus when it comes to over the counter stuff, but friends of mine insist that Tylenol is more efficient. Maybe it's just an excuse to go on trips though ;)
Initiated phase 1 of Project "Raise The Bar High For Future Boyfriends Of My Daughter" by taking her to a father/daughter dance and actually dancing. The whole event was put on by the local Girl Scout troops and was a big formal dance complete with lessons in the Swing, Waltz and Foxtrot. Both of us had a blast.
Aside from that I remain defeated by the bathroom sink as I can't for the life of me figure out why it's leaking.
I slept and fed a friend leftovers, also did my reading for today's class earlier than normal. I don't think I'll be able to keep this up for the rest of the semester but I'm going to try. Also it feels like Spring in the sun and Winter in the shade, Michigan is weird.
I had a lacrosse game on Saturday. It was tied 7-7 until the last minute of the 4th quarter, when one of our middies scored a goal and brought it up to 8-7.

There were St. Patrick's Day vuvuzelas.
And a guy piddlin' on the stairs that lead to my laundry room.

And oddly, I didn't feel wiped out at work today.

Non-Rp-wise, I finally saw Kick-Ass!
