→ Um, because kcountess is made of sweetness, light, and double the patience of Job, we faded to a wrap on a thread from January! In which Kate Warner and Jack Bauer talk home improvement, bureaucracy, office politics, romance novels, and the ghosts of their past relationship that this Kate has yet to experience. ♥
→ In that same EP, Jack Bauer and Raylan Givens continue to be full of snark and sincerity in equal measure; those two are also delighting me to no end in Jack's happy hour post from this week. (All those threads make for phenom reading — ALL OF THEM.)
→ In non-RP news, my beloved University of Kentucky Wildcats have advanced to the Elite Eight in the NCAA tourney; they play North Carolina at 5 p.m., and I am psyched. Pre-game shenanigans will be had, as soon as I finish my coffee, grab a shower, and buy a lawn mower. (Probably in that order.)
Clementine finally met the possible love of her life, Sam and they flirted through clever application of filthy drink names (in progress, but I couldn't resist). She also tried to teach Fry about the power of imagination, much to Guppy's eventual amusement.
Clem is doing SO MANY AWESOME THINGS IN BAR OMG. She's playing catch with Dug! She's having discussions about money and glamor with Tony! She's going shooting with Dinah! She's having COFF fun with Moist! And eventually she's going to have to explain her reality show stardom away to them all!
My RPG muse was pretty quiet this week. I did get one EP in with Jenks (http://community.livejournal.com/milliways_bar/23986543.html?view=comments) and Ult. Ben witnessed Tyler's dragon freak out (http://community.livejournal.com/milliways_bar/23989371.html?thread=1080024443#t1080024443).
In RL news I think I've jury rigged my shower door thus fixing it for $5 instead the couple hundred for a new door.
My RP brain hasn't so much been around lately. I have done a bit - Cata fell asleep in the bar, and Claudia caught up with Sameth and Moist (who no longer thinks he's Watson). You can tell by the shortness that my tagging brain has been a little off its game; my apologies.
I've been busy this weekend and still have so much stuff to do but the end of the semester is in sight. Yesterday I was a tour guide for potential students and really enjoyed it. It gave me a chance to take some beautiful pictures of campus and remember that while SI leaves me drained, it also makes me happy.
Also this week I did far more RP than I expected, these are just some of my favorite threads.
Moist has an OOM that lead to a fascinating thread with Teja and Urq.
Sabriel's in Bar and she and Sam are trying to talk. I adore them but their relationship is not healthy.
I EPed Will, this plot with John will happen at some point I hope. For some reason of all my pups, he's the one that gets quieter the more tired I am.
It wasn't really a good week. I discovered partway through the week that I'm one of the folks for whom taking Singulair causes anger and depression, and it's kinda hard to do much when you're mood-swinging like that, and apparently it takes a few days to get back out of your system again. I do have a couple pups I could play that way, but they didn't really have anything going on this week, so...
I made an icon featuring a kitten in a hammock? *points up* That was pretty much the high point of my week.
I've also been working on learning to knit lace (I really hope it gets better once done and blocked; it's a Swamp Thing mess right now) and I finally got the last of my pups into the bar today, but I'm starting to think I should maybe cull some more of them like I did last month. Dunno.
Yay for learning to knit lace! Lace always looks 3000X better when it's blocked, trust me. Many a new lace knitter has been all "D: D: D: D: OMG IT LOOKS AWFUL" but on blocking it goes from D: D: D: D: to :D :D :D :D :D.
I saw an example of it all made up at my local yarn store, so I know how it's supposed to look in theory, but in practice I'm still so new to knitting (and especially to the lace) that I can't help thinking I'll screw it up somehow, heh.
Eh, until you get enough experience to "read" your lace knitting, the important thing is just taking it slow and paying attention. :D Depending on the pattern, it might help to have stitch markers at the end of every pattern repeat so you know before the end of the row whether you're off. What pattern are you doing?
I'm doing this one here, which is good since it's pretty easy to see where in a row I've messed up. The problem with knitting on trains and buses is that it's very, very easy to get distracted and mess up counting, but the upside of it is that I've gotten very good at un-knitting. *chuckle*
Tell me about Sims Medieval! I'm lusting after it like it's -- well, something very inappropriate, but I don't have AU$90 to spare right now. (Game RRPs are RI-FUCKING-DICULOUS if you live in Australia!)
It's different from what I was expecting. Still great, but a very different feel. Not open-ended like regular Sims; you can't just pick one of your sims and play out their life story, you get to choose between the different sims and play whichever one is needed for the quest you choose. And there's no build mode, so you don't get to literally build your own castles and things. The quests are fun though, sometimes epic, sometimes a bit on the funny side, and I LOVE the feel of the game. They did a good job making a game where you really feel that everyone in the kingdom, whether king or bard or doctor or merchant or whoever, is important and can be heroic. and putting leeches on people is fun to watch
I haven't really gotten to play much of it yet, just a couple days when I was home from work last week, but I do enjoy it, and so does another friend of mine who has it.
It may be better to wait until another patch comes out on account of sporadic glitching that makes it so you can't move forward on the quest you're in and have to back up to the last time you saved, if that helps? ^_^
There's so many things I'm still figuring out. All the little things that aren't really covered in the booklet or the in-game lessons. Strategy, mostly.

It seems to work great for a lot of people, but the ones it doesn't work great for, it's awful. No in-between.

(It took me ages to realise that the little ! with 'A paltry affect can cause strife...' means you should do that quest, not the other way around).
