Right. Well, barring any ridiculous poetry I suddenly feel like writing, Lily Evans is — in a word — brilliant.
She's gorgeous — long red hair, these vivid green eyes that — honestly — can stop you in the middle of a thought, the shape of her mouth and her nose, every last freckle dusted over her cheeks and the tops of her shoulders. She's tall but not too tall. She's got lovely hands and a lovely — well.
She's smart and loyal and brave, she's confident, she frustratingly stubborn, but she knows when others are being stupid. [ cough ] She isn't afraid to tell you when you're being an ... arrogant toerag ... and she will do anything for her friends. She's really a true Gryffindor.
[ So. How far removed is this from their actual character? I don't know. Lily Evans is kind of those things. She's not always right though, and she's quite good at feigning that she has everything perfectly under control even if she might not. But those are minor things. ]

I... huh. My lot appear to be mostly quite clear-headed about their S.O.s - Havelock with Puck strikes me the most, as Havelock knows exactly what Puck is like.
He just finds it hugely entertaining.
(Except when it gets Puck hurt, which... has been known to happen. He tends to blame the other party more, but that's mostly because he thinks physical abuse is not fitting retribution for being flighty and/or annoying. I kind of agree with him!)
Oh, and to Harth, Mel is a very complicated bundle of emotional baggage that's all tied up with the Slayer mythos, his own Slayer memories, and the fact that he is a VAMPIRE, and mostly that she is his twin sister. He puts all this massively complicated meaning and emotion on her, and although they are all things that are true, they are more to do with his own messed-up-ness than they are to do with what she chooses. (As if her life wasn't hard enough already.) Aaaaargh, Harth.

To Kain, Rosa is... a goddess, gold and pale and too far to reach. She is balm, but also rebuke - because she is everything he (subjectively) isn't, and will never be.
[This is not all that far removed from the truth in its essence, although Kain is prone to exaggeration. She's not actually "too far to reach"; she cares about Cecil more, but she still likes Kain despite his self-loathing.]
In Felix's eyes, Sheba is... a marvel, a wonder, a little golden spirit to lift him up - to raise his eyes, his mind, his soul, and not feel like he's being taken from his proper place. She is his best self, reflected back for him to see and realize and copy. She is freedom for one who had never known he was trapped, a breath for the unrealizing suffocant, a light to lead who knows where.
And she is gone.
[Dag nabbit, Brain, stop mapping things into other fandoms!
Ahem. Again, not far off. There is, I realized a few months ago, no canonical indication that Sheba actually cares about Felix, at least not in the same way and degree that he cares about her, but he-in-my-head thinks she does. And, in a manner of speaking, thinks about her in terms of himself - I'm not sure if I'd call it narcissistic, exactly, but all those "she is"es up there are what she is, or does, for Felix.
Curiously, as far as I can tell this sort of "in terms of himself" viewpoint only comes up with respect to Sheba and his world.]

Annabeth keeps him thinking. Scorpius feels he has to always think ahead to keep up with her, and he likes that. He sees her as this older-than-she-is, gorgeous, adventurous girl who is a bit rough around the edges, but, that's OK, because he likes her anyway. She isn't like the other girls he's had dates with because she isn't stuck on ceremony or etiquette, flinging syrup from her fork at the breakfast table while she talks. He loves that. She's so sure of herself and knows what she wants and he likes that too.
Albus is the sort of crush where Scorpius gets that ridiculous feeling in the pit of his stomach and his brain has basically stopped working around the other boy. He sees Albus as this genuine, intelligent, thoughtful boy who surprises him by not being as shy/quiet/stick-in-the-mud as he previously thought and who makes his palms sweat and throat close up for reasons he can't even begin to explain. He does honestly think Albus is gorgeous and those green eyes tend to trip him up a lot too. But when Scorpius isn't tongue-tied around him? He's really easy to talk to and be around.

If you ask Weyland, his swan maiden was a paragon of womanly virtue, a loving wife, a devoted mother, beautiful and talented in all the appropriate domestic skills, etc etc etc. The sort of mood he's in determines the amount of bitterness he uses when describing her leaving. In reality she was young and pretty shallow; not to mention unfaithful, which is understandable considering how toward the end he basically kidnapped her and held her against her will. Demigods.
Tony would describe Edie as the most beautiful, loving, sexy, strong, talented, charming, etc, woman in the world. Those things are all matters of taste and opinion, but she is good to him and they suit each other.
For Joe Bonham, there's no canonical way to tell how Kareen is, independent of his memories of her; the entire book is his flashbacks and his thoughts, so you only ever see her through his eyes, and even then, there's not much there. They're both young, he's probably her first real boyfriend, and she seems like a nice girl but very naive (and you could say the same for Joe, so they were perfect for each other).
Al and Beth. Al and Beth. It's safe to say he idealized her pretty heavily while he was a POW, and now that she's gone that feeling hasn't changed. But looking back, he tends to blame himself for the things that happened, for her unhappiness, and not consider that she was a big girl and could take responsibility for her side of their problems.
On the more realistic side, Butch idealizes Etta more than he does Sundance, probably because as a woman Etta gets put on a bit of a pedestal, while he's spent long enough out on the trail with Sundance that the shine has worn off and he just is what he is. (He's a lot closer to Sundance than Etta, though.)
And Skaði sees her Loki as a lying, manipulative bastard who makes a good ally while it lasts, and is very, very good at making a little heat, but she can't trust him even one-third as far as she can throw him. But she likes the uncertainty, and she likes fighting, so it works.

Nikola...
Well, he has a tendency still to forget just how powerful Yrael is. (It would make him uncomfortable to face that reality and know that he's with someone who's that much stronger than he is.) And he has a bit of a blind spot where Helen is concerned. Or perhaps it's just that he's known her so long and she's his closest friend, so he doesn't mind that she's occasionally a
thoughtless, selfish bitchless-than-perfect person.Orpheus is still madly, desperately in love with his wife, whom he imagines to be this paragon of earthly beauty. And the memory only gets more beautiful in time. He's imagined at times that she rivaled Aphrodite with her beauty, which is not quite accurate. (His other object of affection, he remembers, rightly so, as shining like the sun.)
And Posner...Posner has a fairly realistic view of Dakin, except perhaps an exaggerated view of his beauty. He thinks Dakin is everything he'd like to be: smart, funny, thoughtful, attractive. He can and does while away hours in school just watching Dakin in class. He's aware that Dakin can be a complete ass, mostly because he's usually the target of it.

It's all very confusing, really.
Then again, they're both sixteen, so that's probably par for the course.
She's more willing to see (and to look for) the good, the kindness, and the thoughtfulness in him than she was a year ago. She still thinks he might be a little too charming and sure of himself for his own good. But she acknowledges and appreciates the effort he's started to make to listen when she talks about the things that matter to her, to give them consideration, and to try to see things from something other than the easy, entitled vantage point he could choose to stay on.
And on occasion, though you will not get her to admit it to anyone (including, most days, herself), she finds things like his hands and his mouth a bit distracting. The list of things about him she finds distracting (and the levels of distraction they cause) will probably increase exponentially in coming years.

Sameth sees Kait as this proud and beautiful woman who knows just who she is and sees the world as something that she can change. This impresses him so much and he wishes he had that same kind of certainty.
Jane thinks Tom is a bit of an idiot at times but he makes her feel like she can conquer the world. Tom is charming and intelligent but wasted as he isn't following what he should be doing. They improve each other.
Demeter sees Malcolm as a man who is kind and charming, she wishes that he was kinder to himself since he does far too much.
I forgot one. William thinks Thalia is brave and confusing and pretty, he's not sure why she seems like him but is glad she does.
The rest of mine aren't in relationships at the moment.

Parker is starting to see a nice Texas boy -- a musician / school teacher. I think she can wax poetic at great length on his hands and voice. And how good he is with kids.
Castiel has a ginormous platonic angel-crush on Meg Ford. Really. Nothing at all romantic about it, but it is so puppy-lovey it's not even funny. He will, if you give him half an opening, tell you all about how good/kind/helpful/sensible/wise she is. Oh, and she gave him a pen. Have you seen his pen? There are FLOATING MOUNTIES in it. How cool is that?

Hmmm. Trowa's view of Quatre is pretty realistic, I think, except that he's just fondly tolerant of things like the starry-eyed romanticism towards the entire world. They were best friends for years and years before they ever started dating, and they're both very perceptive, so he's pretty aware of what Quatre's really like.
--Oh, okay, there's one thing; he is not at all bothered by the fact that his boyfriend talks to outer space (which talks back) and that there are other minor ways in which his sanity could be considered, uh, not quite normal. There are danger signs to watch for, fine, and he would and does, but aside from that -- that's just part of his personality. (To be fair, Trowa does this with people in general, not just ones he likes. He also took in stride that time an enemy had a full-blown personality split mid-conversation.)
River too has a pretty realistic view of Duo! Things that probably help here: a) that she is psychic, and b) the fact that their relationship is not all that serious. It's a lot more playful than rose-tinted.
If there's anyone she has a rose-tinted view of, I think it's Simon. Obviously she can be a bratty little sister and mock him mercilessly and so forth, but when you get right down to it she still kind of has him on a pedestal. There are people who see Simon as boring or uptight or close-minded or whatever, and she might call him boring herself to tease but she'd bridle a lot at anyone seriously criticizing him.
More later! Work is cutting down on my DE time, boo.

Have you met her?! She's awesome. *_*
(He knows she has her own set of problems, but he isn't one to throw stones.)

Well, River thinks he's awesome, so there! Even if he's a doofus sometimes. (Frequently.)
(Among River's problems: cheerfully rampant hypocrisy. Um.)

Also I think its worth pointing out that Moist will let himself show his worry around Urquhart, its not conscious but he's realized that he can so he does. Its one of the luxuries of being with him.

Ace knows full well that Spoon will most likely never again be completely sane. Or even half-way sane. And that if she goes venturing out on a full-moon night, she'd better not twist an ankle or anything else that'd slow her down, 'cause that'd make for a very awkward conversation in 3-4 days time. She does also believe Spoon is hot as hell, and adorably cute when fuzzy... so maybe the girl does have a bit of a romantic sense to her after all.
McCoy is fully cognizant of the fact that Olga can be very very scary, and could easily squish him like a bug. There are moments here and there where he almost unconsciously compares her and Charlie. If she were to ever fully fall in the category that loony teenager did, he'd probably run for his life. One hopes, anyway, that the boy has some sense of self-preservation in there somewhere. He also believes that she's not nearly as hardened as she lets on, and has the capability of being quite adorable.
Romana is very much aware that Ray is human, though by far the most intelligent human she's ever encountered. She does worry ridiculously when he goes up against a particularly big bad, since humans are so very easy to kill, and do not regenerate. She also worries about when she regenerates - if he'll still love her, or if she'll change so much she won't remember that she loves him until it's too late.
Shaz is too smart by half and sees through most of Chris' blustering in minutes. Which is really too bad - a little less bright, and they probably could manage together very well.
Katya... well, it'd have to be Bear, wouldn't it? And they've been partners on and off for almost a century, so she knows his strengths and weaknesses better than most. She also has a higher tolerance for his penchant for really bad and maudlin Russian poetry than most.
Glorfindel refuses to talk about SO's, Cal just makes faces at me when I bring it up, and Laranth looks at me like I've lost my mind.

Lucas doesn't really have a crush, not one that he can notice that much right now with matters going on at home, anyway. But if someone asked him about Luna Lovegood, he won't hesitate to mention that she has pretty hair and a pretty voice, as well as being a good friend. At the same time, he kind of likes Kumatora and her tomboyish qualities. Canon has implied, however, that Kumatora is fond of Duster. Not much is made of this either way, as Mother 3 is not a romantic love story but rather a maternal love story.

...I think Quatre's perceptions of who Trowa is are fairly accurate, at least to the extent that given any set of situations he knows how Trowa will react with a high degree of accuracy. And he is not at all blind to the fact that his best friend is a soldier. I mean, to some extent, most of his close friends are, so. And his perceptions have not changed since they started dating, except the part where he's started finding Trowa even more attractive, but you know these things happen.
He considers Trowa to be competent, and kind, and gentle. Gentle because often in battle he could use force where he doesn't, or he could press and issue and yet he backs off. Kind because in the situation where he sacrificed himself to save Quatre's sanity, if the situation had been reversed, Quatre totally would have just killed insaneTrowa. Ahahaha um. Also, he knows how sappy Trowa is in his STOIC HEART so he goes "awww that is so nice" when Trowa, like, gives him extra words. He has been totally re-calibrated ;_;.
Yes. So. /cracking up. That's that. I am not so sparkly-eyed about Trowa as he is, but I realize that the sparkles are inherent to the character and affect his view on most things.
My other characters in Milliways in relationships are zilch unless you count Cathy, who is in a casual :DDD kisses relationship with Wellard. UH. SHE THINKS HE IS REALLY CUTE. But her grasp of his personality is pretty unbiased.
pst. gen. before I remembered I was supposed to write from Quatre perspective, I almost went ~~~Ryan. IT'S NOT MY FAULT.
