Its raining here again and I made it to work just under the wire.

Are your pups morning people? What's their morning routine? Are there things that knowing they get to do will get them going quickly?

Rapunzel is a morning person, most of the time. She wants her coffee, but she's generally cheerful upon waking.

Bobby...it varies. It depends on how late he stayed up the night before, whether or not he has class or if he's looking forward to something fun.

KK will pull a knife on you if you wake her before she's ready.

Felix isn't particularly a morning person, but he's trained himself to be alert as soon as he wakes up, so he is at least functional from the get-go. Whenever that happens to be - not all monsters wait for sunrise before showing up.

Kain... I don't know. He's always grumpy, but I don't know that it has anything to do with sleep or time of day.

Karis is one of those people who get up annoyingly perky, the ones that've already gotten half a dozen things done before the sun's fully over the horizon.

The Devil never sleeps.

Jordan Kennedy is definitely not a morning person: if you see her up early, it means she did not go to sleep yet. If you see her with a large coffee mug, approach carefully.

The Fledgling is a vampire, and thus outside normal sleep cycles. She misses actual sleep.

Connor IS a morning person indeed, enjoying seeing the sun go up. Even when he lazes about a bit later, he's not grumpy about it.

Both my Ben's are morning people. With so many years of football practices ( and the military in the main canon Ben's case) I can't see them being any other way. Main canon Ben is grumpy about it but Ult. Ben likes it. I think Ult. Ben likes being in a world with few people, it's sort of the hidden world.

Val likes to sleep in. If you see her in the mornings it's because she didn't sleep the night before.

Jessica likes mornings for their new opportunities but hates them for the bright light.

Thalia precanon isn't a morning person at all. After Titan's Curse and her meeting Apollo, as soon as the sun hits her she remembers him and starts awake blushing.

Enzo attends the Guardian Academy. He is a morning person whether he likes it or not. Fortunately, if reveille doesn't wake him up sufficiently, fighting three roommates for the bathroom usually does the trick.

He would happily drink Java, but Dot has forbidden him access to it until he reaches the age of majority. There was an Incident.

Yrael often doesn't see much of the morning. Dozing in front of the fire is one of the best ways to spend a quiet morning. However, if something else piques his interest... well. He's up. ^_^

Sunshine is definitely a morning person. She's normally up at 4am to head to work and start in on cinnamon rolls, muffins, spicebread, rolls, &c. &c. On days that she's off, though, she'll sleep in until 10 or 11, and might just spend the rest of the morning lying out in the sunlight and reading.

Zelgadiss sleeps lightly, and is usually up with the sun. His morning routine differs depending on what situation he's in.

Scorpius hasn't any problems with waking up early or quickly starting the day. I don't know if I'd label him as a morning person, though.

The thing is, he can get quite pissed the night before and still manage to wake up rather early, go on a breakfast date, attend Quidditch practice after, survive a day of classes, and still be energetic enough by the time that night rolls around, but I think that's because he gets a burst of energy around noon. Maybe he's a noon person?

He's certainly better when he's got things to do that he's excited about.

I think Hermione is mostly a morning person. Unless it's exam period and she hasn't had any sleep whatsoever the night before - due to revision - she will usually be up and ready to head to a fresh day of classes (and be cheerful about it). Because sleeping in is considered wasting time that could easily be put forth into doing more productive things!

I think Albus is more or less the same. He would rather spend that extra sleep-in time doing something productive, like reading. He also likes to get to breakfast early.

Gene is absolutely just about the furthest thing from a morning person as it's possible to be, at least in the 70s. Observe:

Sam: 'I'll have a report on your desk by this evening.'
Gene: 'You're not givin' me stuff to read!'
Sam: 'And I'll be ready to give a briefing first thing in the morning.'
Gene: *somewhat alarmed*'...what d'you mean when you say, first thing in the morning?'

...actually, this exchange (from 1x03) pretty much sums up their entire working relationship. :\

He's better about mornings in Ashes, mainly because he hasn't got much else to do but work. He's still hungover most mornings though. (Work, and drink.)

Ramon is actually, when away from his empire and the parties and evil drug-lording and crime and whatnot, very much a morning person. Mind you, he doesn't sleep all that much anyway.

Ellen wakes up early and functions well, but she tends to sleep in units of around three and a half hours each anyway, separated by some brief wakeful relaxing. It's a habit she developed in the Wasteland. She can manage on three and a half to four hours' sleep if she has to.

Gordon used to be prone to oversleeping and was not a morning person at all. These days he's not so much into the sleeping in general, although he tries.

Adrian's always been something of a morning person.

Mordin is from a species that canonically sleeps one hour out of twenty-four. He himself is prone to ten minute naps and fits of meditation. It is generally accepted on the Normandy that he's always awake. Always.

Ray is not a morning person at all. There was one notable incident in which he was awakened from a sound sleep and dragged downstairs in his T-shirt and sweats for a photo op with the President, and didn't actually wake all the way up until the President sent his photographers away and asked the Ghostbusters, "What's two-and-a-half cubits long, one-and-a-half cubits high, one-and-a-half cubits wide, and melts Nazis when you open it?".

Arcade is not much of a morning person either but he gets up early anyway. It's a discipline thing even if he doesn't like it.

Alyx is generally a very light sleeper and has conditioned herself to be ready to go the moment she wakes up. Lately, though, she's developed a sort of subconscious "is this really worth getting out of bed for" filter so she can get some actual sleep.

Artie isn't a morning person, or an afternoon person, or a night person. He's just a cranky old fart 24/7.

D0G is a robot and needs no sleep.

The cat declines to comment as he's napping just now.

Stitch is up and motoring around at sunrise. I own an enormous coffee mug with his likeness on it. It holds over a cup of liquid. His expression on it is incredibly similar to the one in this icon. The inner rim reads Mornings aren't pretty.

Pre-canon, Alex was indeed a morning person. Tea and the paper before getting Molly up and ready for school. In canon? Too many long nights, and perhaps one too many hangovers, (not to mention the nightmares), and she's not the most chipper first thing. I think as she gets her feet under her again, mornings will go back to being a refuge of quiet and calm for her.

Elrond prefers to greet the morning with either a mug of herbal tea and a quiet heart - or with song.

He's an elf. You can tack the line "with song" onto anything, really.

Most of mine are morning people, actually. Which is kind of ironic, given that I'm about as nocturnally inclined as it's possible to get while still holding down a 9-to-5.

Trowa grew up on a soldier's schedule; he can sleep any time if he needs to, but left to his own devices he wakes up around 6ish. Of course, this fluctuates some, given that he travels between time zones a lot. Most of the time the circus goes one time zone at a time instead of hopping around, though.

Piotr grew up a farmer, so he woke early to work in the fields, too. I suspect he's still something of an early riser, but not so drastically now; unless he's really stressed, he wakes up at probably 7 or 8, which feels totally decadently lazy to some part of him still. (If he's stressed, he's up before dawn and probably doing manual labor. Or at least working out.)

River's not that bad, but she's up before a lot of the crew, I think. I suspect her meds, and the fact that they're on a regular schedule, mean she tends to be pretty regular about when she goes to bed and wakes up too. Anyway, she wakes early, and wanders around (and probably plays with Naomi some, given little kids' tendency to do the same) while the ship wakes up around her.

Lan is another who dislikes idleness and is used to soldiers' hours, although he's also got a Warder's stamina and has been known to keep watch a good bit of the night, too. (Also, a lot of the monsters of his world are nocturnal, so out on the trail or in the more Border-y bits of the Borderlands, one gets used to rude awakenings in the wee hours sometimes.) I suspect that on his own he wakes with the dawn, i.e. first light at whatever time it comes for the season it is.

Regan... okay, I am going to break with the trend on principle, and say that Regan is not a night owl per se, but she's also not an early riser when left to her own druthers. Maybe 9, 10 in the morning is when she'd prefer to get up. Whether she actually can depends on the day's schedule.

My pups have a tendency towards not having working circadian rhythms.

Yuuno lives on a magic space station that's open 24/7 and I'm pretty sure he sleeps in the desk drawers in his ferret shape so he gets enough sleep.

Tyler is dating a vampire and he wrote for a newspaper before that - sleep happens when things aren't busy somewhere else.

Robo doesn't sleep. Robot and all.

Jerry still recognizes 9 to 5, but doesn't do mornings without a surprise attack or coffee.

Ako would sleep more if she was actually growing and not stuck in the weird sort of stasis that comes with being bound for some people. As it is she gets up early to try for those moments of stillness before the rest of the multiverse gets up and starts things like target practice.

Clementine is the antithesis of a morning person - girl is a night owl. But she gets up early to re-apply her makeup so her lover won't know she wasn't born dewy fresh.
