What is your pup's favorite piece of clothing and why? Does it say anything about them or their personality? Is it different than what they are most recognized for from a canon perspective?
Example! I'm not convinced Mal's browncoat is his favorite piece of clothing, just because he wears it a lot. I think he's more in love with those boots than anything else.

If you ignore the mask, Charlie's favorite clothing are his work boots. The black ones that look like dress shoes until you are up close. Comfy for everything, even working out. Great for literally kicking butt.
My other pups don't have favorite clothes. Kirk is usually in uniform, Cy doesn't really wear clothes, and Gibbs only wears the one thing he owns.

What it says about him? That he's fashionable! (In the 70s.) And it's a nice juxtaposition with him outwardly being a man of the times - along with the attitude towards women/minority groups, the drinking and smoking and swearing - while underneath, actually being a whole lot more old-fashioned. The thing with the coat is - and this goes for his later incarnation as well - is that it makes him instantly recognisable. He stands out in it; it's like a trademark. Possibly there were a lot of these coats around in the 70s but no one else in CID wears one, and probably wouldn't dare now. That's the Guv's coat.
Plus, y'know. Manchester's cold and wet a lot of the time, and that thing is warm, yo.

He's the Sheriff, y'know. A Sheriff needs good boots.

Ult. Ben's is a ring commemorating some college football play off he helped win. He can't wear it but he keeps it as it's all he has left of the time before he became a monster, or so he thinks.
Thalia's is her boots which by my canon were a gift from Hermes. They've taken her many places and remind her of the time she spent with Luke and Annabeth before things got messy.
Val's is obvious and it's her armor. It's all she has left of the dad she grew up with.
Rincewind's is his cloak. You would think it'd be his hat but his hat doesn't tear when people grab it nor keep him warm at night.

X's favorite piece of clothing are the gloves from Bruce. They make it hurt more when she punches things! And by things we mean 'people'. Her favorite piece of jewelry is her locket, with a close follow-up by the necklace Elle gave her.
Michael really really likes her ripped jeans, I guess?
Dean -- clothing-wise it is his jacket. If you've seen the show you know the one. Jewelry-wise it's the charm Sam gave him when he was a little kid.

Bobby...not really? He likes t-shirts with silly sayings on them, but doesn't have a particular favorite.
KK has very little clothing, but she's rarely without her steel-capped comat boots--possibly because she doesn't have another pair of shoes.

Adrian has been cleaning, patching, and repairing the fatigues he wore at Black Mesa for a long time now, and will stab anybody who tries to take them away from him. He's got some civvies that he got from Bar and a rather nice sweater from Eleanor Freeman, and while he likes the sweater as far as civvies go he considers those fatigues the most important clothing he owns.
Ellen's attachment to her Vault jumpsuit is purely sentimental at this point, now that she's got a set of prewar fatigues from the Brotherhood and some other things she can wear.
Arcade only really has one suit of clothes, but his glasses are from the old world- he says after combats in which he's had problems that "maybe I should get some glasses that aren't two hundred years old". Since I'm pretty sure the New California Republic and the Followers of the Apocalypse could produce glasses themselves, and that he could at least buy another set of old glasses if he really needed a better set, I think he's got some kind of fondness for the ones he wears now.
I'm pretty sure Medic has twenty sets of exactly the same clothing in his closet. It's just simpler that way.

However, for the day-to-day kind, I'm not sure he does. He has certain types he likes--worn jeans, long-sleeved t-shirts or casual button-downs, but with his recent backstory, he hasn't really formed an attachment to anything material.

If anyone has suggestions, I'd be curious.

Lucas has a long-sleeve version of his red and yellow striped shirt for the winter that he likes best. It's almost like being home with Mom, Dad, and Claus again when he wears it and curls up in a nice big armchair.

As far as actual clothing goes, she's inordinately fond of the leather jacket she was wearing when the Hunter impaled her. She refuses to patch the bloody stab holes in the back, and will probably frame it and mount it on the wall when it finally becomes truly unwearable.

Raph would say his combat boots. Once you've got a nicely broken in pair, you never really need another set of shoes.
Splinter does have a favorite kimono, but only he can tell which one it is. The rest of his outfits look exactly the same to pretty much everyone other than him.

Accessories fall into the "Will it break or be lost if I morph with it?" category of hell yes it will, so she just doesn't wear them.
Her morphing outfit is the only thing she brought with her from her own world and the only thing she wears day in and day out. It's viewed in entirely utilitarian uses and she wouldn't be sad to throw it out and get a new one. It's lycra and spandex - the mallrat in her is always appalled that she has to wear it, much less wear it where people can see.

Later, she sank back into more professional attire, more elegant but still fashionable. And now, her favourite article of clothing is a blue cashmere scarf she got for Christmas 1981.

The rest of them don't have favorite bits of clothing though I would guess that Eragon is awfully fond of his

However! There is one thing he wears—I hesitate to call it clothing—which is not part of the uniform, but which is imported from his old outfit. As it is the only thing he has specifically chosen to wear, I suppose it must count as his favourite.
Therefore:
His yo-yo.

Urquhart's favourite piece of clothing is probably his own black cloak; it's got all sorts of hooks and straps and proto-pockets on the inside where he keeps things.
