Daily Entertainment.

What is your pup's favorite piece of clothing and why? Does it say anything about them or their personality? Is it different than what they are most recognized for from a canon perspective?

Example! I'm not convinced Mal's browncoat is his favorite piece of clothing, just because he wears it a lot. I think he's more in love with those boots than anything else.

Knox loves his hat. The bulletproof warm one he got from Rachel Grey. Because he likes hats, and because it was a gift from someone he misses.

If you ignore the mask, Charlie's favorite clothing are his work boots. The black ones that look like dress shoes until you are up close. Comfy for everything, even working out. Great for literally kicking butt.

My other pups don't have favorite clothes. Kirk is usually in uniform, Cy doesn't really wear clothes, and Gibbs only wears the one thing he owns.

Now that you mention it, I never noticed that Cy doesn't wear clothes! Does that count as being naked in the bar? XD

70s Gene - tan camelhair overcoat and white loafers. I shit you not. (Hey, it was the 70s. Everyone looked dreadful.)

Photobucket

What it says about him? That he's fashionable! (In the 70s.) And it's a nice juxtaposition with him outwardly being a man of the times - along with the attitude towards women/minority groups, the drinking and smoking and swearing - while underneath, actually being a whole lot more old-fashioned. The thing with the coat is - and this goes for his later incarnation as well - is that it makes him instantly recognisable. He stands out in it; it's like a trademark. Possibly there were a lot of these coats around in the 70s but no one else in CID wears one, and probably wouldn't dare now. That's the Guv's coat.

Plus, y'know. Manchester's cold and wet a lot of the time, and that thing is warm, yo.

80s Gene - the clothes say the same thing about him, plus that he's moved on. He's now a man of the times a decade later. Adaptable, and all that. In a way. Favourites now - the camelhair coat has been changed for a black crombie, and the white loafers swapped out for really rather brilliant snakeskin boots.

He's the Sheriff, y'know. A Sheriff needs good boots.

Clem's in love with her bra. And she wears a lot of scarves because she thinks they're fashionable.

Scorpius' favorite piece of clothing is probably his Montrose Magpies hoodie because that's his favorite Quidditch team. Or his footed pyjamas because of the comfort. And wearing the two together is like cuddling up in front of a fire on a cold morning, listening to a Montrose Magpies broadcast on the WWN and drinking hot chocolate.

Ben's favorite article of clothing is his Air Force bomber's jacket. He's had it remade several times as villains keep attacking and ruining it. It's a symbol for him of his time before he was the Thing and he really put his life on the line. Or it could be his fedora cause it makes him feel like Indiana Jones, Humphrey Bogart or Frank Sinatra.

Ult. Ben's is a ring commemorating some college football play off he helped win. He can't wear it but he keeps it as it's all he has left of the time before he became a monster, or so he thinks.

Thalia's is her boots which by my canon were a gift from Hermes. They've taken her many places and remind her of the time she spent with Luke and Annabeth before things got messy.

Val's is obvious and it's her armor. It's all she has left of the dad she grew up with.

Rincewind's is his cloak. You would think it'd be his hat but his hat doesn't tear when people grab it nor keep him warm at night.

Raven's is his coat, hands down.

X's favorite piece of clothing are the gloves from Bruce. They make it hurt more when she punches things! And by things we mean 'people'. Her favorite piece of jewelry is her locket, with a close follow-up by the necklace Elle gave her.

Michael really really likes her ripped jeans, I guess?

Dean -- clothing-wise it is his jacket. If you've seen the show you know the one. Jewelry-wise it's the charm Sam gave him when he was a little kid.

I think Raven's coat has become its own character, by this point in time. It's like K'Kruhk's hat in the Star Wars EU.

Rapunzel has stolen a particular Hawaiian print shirt from Alex that she enjoys too much to return.

Bobby...not really? He likes t-shirts with silly sayings on them, but doesn't have a particular favorite.

KK has very little clothing, but she's rarely without her steel-capped comat boots--possibly because she doesn't have another pair of shoes.

Gordon's favorite piece of clothing is the HEV suit because it has saved his hide more times than he can count. As far as clothing clothing, he has no attachment to any particular clothing. It's pretty irrelevant to him.

Adrian has been cleaning, patching, and repairing the fatigues he wore at Black Mesa for a long time now, and will stab anybody who tries to take them away from him. He's got some civvies that he got from Bar and a rather nice sweater from Eleanor Freeman, and while he likes the sweater as far as civvies go he considers those fatigues the most important clothing he owns.

Ellen's attachment to her Vault jumpsuit is purely sentimental at this point, now that she's got a set of prewar fatigues from the Brotherhood and some other things she can wear.

Arcade only really has one suit of clothes, but his glasses are from the old world- he says after combats in which he's had problems that "maybe I should get some glasses that aren't two hundred years old". Since I'm pretty sure the New California Republic and the Followers of the Apocalypse could produce glasses themselves, and that he could at least buy another set of old glasses if he really needed a better set, I think he's got some kind of fondness for the ones he wears now.

I'm pretty sure Medic has twenty sets of exactly the same clothing in his closet. It's just simpler that way.

Well for non-regular clothes--at least at the moment--Jack would have a partiality to his Kevlar, for some fairly obvious reasons. :D

However, for the day-to-day kind, I'm not sure he does. He has certain types he likes--worn jeans, long-sleeved t-shirts or casual button-downs, but with his recent backstory, he hasn't really formed an attachment to anything material.

I don't think any of mine have any real attachments to their clothing. At least not that I can think of off the top of my head. Most of the time they wear what they or what's comfortable.

If anyone has suggestions, I'd be curious.
gorgonfondness: (Mia stole Draco's Boxers)

[personal profile] gorgonfondness 2011-04-14 03:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Mia's favorite clothes are the ones she steals from Draco's dresser, especially his collar shirts.

Lucas has a long-sleeve version of his red and yellow striped shirt for the winter that he likes best. It's almost like being home with Mom, Dad, and Claus again when he wears it and curls up in a nice big armchair.
vance_prime: (necklace)

[personal profile] vance_prime 2011-04-14 03:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Do accessories count? Because Alyx has a necklace which she never takes off, because it was a gift from her mother and one of the few remaining things she has that tie her to the pre-Incident world.

As far as actual clothing goes, she's inordinately fond of the leather jacket she was wearing when the Hunter impaled her. She refuses to patch the bloody stab holes in the back, and will probably frame it and mount it on the wall when it finally becomes truly unwearable.

[identity profile] agoodshinkickin.livejournal.com 2011-04-14 04:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Every piece of Mike's clothing is his favorite one. And being Mike, no one really wants to take the effort it would muster to argue with him.

Raph would say his combat boots. Once you've got a nicely broken in pair, you never really need another set of shoes.

Splinter does have a favorite kimono, but only he can tell which one it is. The rest of his outfits look exactly the same to pretty much everyone other than him.

Rachel is so invested in shopping and the appropriateness of a good outfit that to say she had a "favorite" would be to imply that she would wear it even if it wasn't appropriate. And she would never.

Accessories fall into the "Will it break or be lost if I morph with it?" category of hell yes it will, so she just doesn't wear them.

Her morphing outfit is the only thing she brought with her from her own world and the only thing she wears day in and day out. It's viewed in entirely utilitarian uses and she wouldn't be sad to throw it out and get a new one. It's lycra and spandex - the mallrat in her is always appalled that she has to wear it, much less wear it where people can see.

Alex was never much of a clothes horse, until she woke up in the 80's and had to "blend". Her white leather coat became like a suit of armor, projecting a confidence and flair so loudly, she almost believed it herself.

Later, she sank back into more professional attire, more elegant but still fashionable. And now, her favourite article of clothing is a blue cashmere scarf she got for Christmas 1981.

The Fool's favorite piece of clothing is actually not at all any of his motley, because for him that's his skin and body. I suppose then, you could say that his body is his clothing and he likes his eyes.

The rest of them don't have favorite bits of clothing though I would guess that Eragon is awfully fond of his dues ex machina magic belt.

a1enzo: (yo-yo)

[personal profile] a1enzo 2011-04-14 07:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Enzo is from the sort of cartoon where the characters wear the same default outfit for anywhere from half a season to the entirety of canon, so "favourite" becomes questionable. Furthermore, it's a moot point for him since he's been in uniform for the past three years.

However! There is one thing he wears—I hesitate to call it clothing—which is not part of the uniform, but which is imported from his old outfit. As it is the only thing he has specifically chosen to wear, I suppose it must count as his favourite.

Therefore:

His yo-yo.

Teja's favourite piece of clothing is probably his leather forge apron that was a gift from Xaldin, the Nobody; it protects his entire body from burns and sparks. It was made by moogles in Xaldin's world. During canon, though, his favourite place of clothing was probably his black cloak.

Urquhart's favourite piece of clothing is probably his own black cloak; it's got all sorts of hooks and straps and proto-pockets on the inside where he keeps things.
