What one thing that your character could get from Milliways- whether issued by the Bar or obtained from some other patron- would be capable of causing the most change or chaos to your character's canon? Alternatively, what one thing from your canon do you think is the most important to keep the heck out of the Bar because of what it could do to everybody else?

Hm. The most troublesome thing...

Honestly, I don't think there's anything someone could bring back from Milliways that could significantly derail Golden Sun. Nothing short of a network of GPS and spy satellites, anyway.

Actually, I take it back. A point-of-view gun might do something. I'm not entirely sure what, but something.

On the other hand, any of the Elemental Stars, if not supervised by some reliable person, could cause immense havoc if brought in. Each of them is the encapsulated power of one of Weyard's elements, and according to Kraden anyone who so wanted could use any one of them to rule the world.

For Ult. Ben, it's turning out to be the knowledge that life can be worse and that there is another version of himself that is happy. This is making it a challenge keeping him depressed as his canon dictates. ; p

As for the main MU Ben, any Reed tech could be dangerous in other realities.

I'm blanking on answers for my other pups.

vAs for the main MU Ben, any Reed tech could be dangerous in other realities.

Because it's not like Shulkie, Ben, Johnny, and Sue have asked him for instruction manuals or anything. "Reeeeeed! How do I work this transverge flux capacitator??"

[identity profile] spooky-lemur.livejournal.com 2011-04-19 08:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Not to mention how easy it is to misuse Reed Tech (tm).

Put it this way, there's a Reason Cata isn't planning to ever take her sniper rifle home with her, and it's not that she'd have a bugger of a time getting ammo for it at home. If the idea of guns caught on, it would make her job that much more difficult, because people would get the idea that they could take care of their problems themselves.
gorgonfondness: (Blue Star)

[personal profile] gorgonfondness 2011-04-19 02:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Frankly, Mia's already sitting on kind of a bombshell in the form of her family. If word got out on Lunar that people did live on the Blue Star and that Draco was one of them, alien conspiracy folks would get all up in arms and likely be interested in some dissections. Fortunately, those who do know the truth of Draco's origins also know about Milliways and aren't freaked out, with the exception of whoever spreads the rumors in Hot Girl News. On the flipside, if Ghaleon came in from Lunar 1 canon like Mia instead of Lunar 2 canon, he likely could have manipulated a good portion of the bar into his bidding. He does have a certain charisma to him, even if the bar populace isn't familiar with his exploits as one of the Four Heroes.

Any technology from Milliways that is above what's in Lucas's home would be a danger. Lucas himself is a bit wary of it all anyway, so he wouldn't bring it with him. The biggest things that should be kept out of the bar are the Ultimate Chimera and the men's room signs. Seriously, those signs know PK Starstorm!

As for Claudia, while it would be hard for Milliways to make her life more chaotic, the El Camino she's been working on is in fact the car she drives in S2. I reasoned that the car had to come from somewhere, and since the show never specified, why not the bar?

As for what needs to be kept out? There are moments where Artie would probably say "Claudia," but they'd both agree on keeping MacPherson the HELL out of the bar. SRSLY.

The answer for Moist isn't an object, it was an event. But there's no way he wouldn't have taken the option given him to dry out for Cubefall. (Whether to keep it was a much more difficult decision than he or I thought it would be, but once he kept it? Total game-changer.)

[identity profile] agoodshinkickin.livejournal.com 2011-04-19 04:54 pm (UTC)(link)
I honestly can't think of a single thing from Bar that would cause chaos to the Turtle Universe. I mean...the place is already full of chaos anyway.

As for what from home could/would cause the most chaos in Bar? For me that'd be Venus di Milo.

Would you rather have Venus de Milo or Mona Lisa show up?

[identity profile] agoodshinkickin.livejournal.com 2011-04-20 01:54 am (UTC)(link)
Oh Mona Lisa would be Love! LOVE! I tell you. It'd be on par with Ninjara showing up.

Venus? FLAMES! FLAMES ON THE SIDE OF MY FACE!
jothra: (Default)

[personal profile] jothra 2011-04-20 01:56 am (UTC)(link)
That's why I didn't pick Ninjara, because obviously she is awesome.

I'm trying to remember if I ever saw that episode more than once. Don't think so. Something about a submarine?

But I know I have a Mona Lisa action figure around somewhere. Tiny Jo was always very sad they never made a Ninjara one.

[identity profile] agoodshinkickin.livejournal.com 2011-04-20 02:46 am (UTC)(link)
I don't know that they had the rights to make a Ninjara action figure. Something tells me that she was on loan, and not much else.

Will's easy, guns, which is why I've never allowed them into Sherwood for any plotting. They mess up the balance of things too much.

Sameth *points up at Yrael's answer*

Demeter really doesn't have anything, as a goddess she can mess things up on her own.

Moist, hm, at the moment I can't think of anything.

Jane's would be one of her books or a feminist text.

William, at this point, nothing.

Tumnus and the Pirate King I can't think of anything either. Most of mine can cause more than enough trouble and while the Bar changes things, it doesn't too much. Sam and Will are the major exceptions.

[identity profile] gammagammahey.livejournal.com 2011-04-19 07:08 pm (UTC)(link)
What someone could bring home from Bar that could potentially wreck shit on a major scale by the wielder: the Cosmic Cube. It's best left in the hands of Steve Rogers, the one man who would never, ever be tempted to use it for ill.

(Thanks, Marvel.)

ETA: The Cosmic Cube should be kept out of Milliways, too. It's the one thing powerful enough to destroy the bar itself and make it so that it never existed with just a verbal command.

Comic geek moment...I wonder which would prove the greater power, the Cosmic Cube or the Infinity Gauntlet? I'd be inclined to say it would be up to the wielder but I don't have as much experience reading of the Cosmic Cube as I do the Infinity Gauntlet.

Gene's - the Truth.

Ramon's - ahaha. He has a Thing that needs to be kept out of the bar. I mean, it's already been here, but not unleashed; Mike took particular exception to it, and Ramon still can't understand why. Because a weaponised virus that kills 95% of people within 24 hours is totally a cool thing to keep hanging 'round the magic bar, right?

Ramon: *nods*

Edward/The Cullens #1. The ability to become human.

None of them is even allowed to know this a possibility affordable at Milliways.

#2. Aro will never find the bar. For everyone's sake.

death_gone_mad: Amascut walking away from an explosion like a badass (explode)

[personal profile] death_gone_mad 2011-04-20 02:13 am (UTC)(link)
In her earlier years, Amascut was a very obviously bad bad thing that should never have entered the bar. Easy access to the multiverse located conveniently near THE END would have helped her very much in her quest to destroy everything.

Nowadays, I have doubts even people from her world would object. She is considered a minor goddess, someone who has been rendered mostly harmless. She doesn't get a lot of respect/fear. Plus, she has mellowed way out and become more of a behind the scenes person.

The comments here are full of things Amascut would be salivating about, but the biggest nonobad thing to take back home from the bar would be other gods. I dreamed up the possibility when I was playing Evil Chicken more actively, but it can work for Amascut. See, the gods are not even supposed to exercise influence upon Gielinor, but Amascut can get away with it since no one takes her seriously anymore. Foreign gods coming into the world would be and seen as an invasion and a land grab. Some of the native gods would use it as an excuse to declare open war again and god wars tend to last thousands of years at a time. Plus, one of the gods promised to destroy the world if the god wars ever began again.

And from the bar, a way to time travel back to 2008.

For the Discworld, I think canonically a gun - which is why I won't let Havelock use one, even in OOM plots where it would make sense to give him one.

For Sabriel... yeah, sorry Nick Sayre! Poor boy.

Any sort of world-annihilating futuristic weaponry. Two seconds in Trudy's hands and Reno would be a smoking crater in the middle of Nevada.
