Today is off to a grey start for me, not bad but its cold and raining, soon I will be done with this semester.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to fill out the survey for me, I'll put my finished paper somewhere that it can be read.

Now for the question; what gives your pup hope and gets them going in the morning? These might be two different things or one thing.

For Sameth the answer is working in the forge and his family, in the forge he's useful and it makes him hopeful he can do what he needs to. His family though they have a weird relationship still make him feel safe.

Continuing the trend of F alliteration and with the same canon:

Yrael's answer is freedom and friendship. The knowledge that the only obligations he is under are those he has willingly taken on. The only bonds that bind him are those of friendship, which weigh much lighter on him for him having chosen them.

I love that icon and I didn't realize the alliteration when I wrote it.

I think that's one of my favorite things about how you play Yrael, how much he focuses on choice.

Rincewind gets up as a moving target is harder to hit than a stationary one.
Val gets up to see what's new in the world and to see what she's discover.
With 54 kids Jenks doesn't have the option of not getting up but building a better future for them helps.

And now in the depressing corner...
Ben gets out of bed as he hopes it will distract him from thinking about Johnny. It doesn't work but the kids need him so he keeps going.
Ultimate Ben gets out of bed with the hope that something cool or insane will happen which will distract him from the mirror.

I think Marvel has taken the F. Scott Fitzgerald quote, "Show me a hero and I'll write you a tragedy" a little too close to heart when it comes to Ben. I'm really dreading the upcoming Fear Itself crossover event as it's looking like Ben gives in to his dark side and goes villain. When he eventually goes back to the light this is going to crush him and I'm not sure how he will recover from the blow. He might find himself "retiring" to Milliways until he gets convinced his world still needs him. Or something. I don't know, I think I need to get Ult. Ben to his happy place so I have cut the drama in half!

That's so hard for characters. Will's been in that space for me lately with the Little John plot and I'm hoping that now its settled, I can move him somewhere else.

For Felix, it's "the world". But in different ways. It gives him hope because it's still there, and not falling apart. He takes that to mean he's doing something right. I believe I mentioned, in another DE at some point, that his first thought on waking up boils down to "world's still here" - it's the same thing. Whereas what gets him going is the knowledge of his responsibility, his promise, to keep it that way. When he finished his quest, he made a promise to keep a watch for those who would abuse Alchemy, and thereby possibly bring about the end of the world. And one thing Felix does is take his promises seriously.

I'm... not entirely sure the question applies to Kain. Even more than Felix, "hopeful" isn't a word I'd use to describe him.

Karis would say the wonder of the world. Which is to say, its wondrousness, not something like the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

What about what gets Kain up in the morning? Is it duty?

I'm not entirely sure. Could be duty, or habit, or some combination. It could be the idea that staying in bed wouldn't please his father.

Shulkie is a morning person. She likes her life and it shows in the way she bounces out of bed with a disgusting amount of cheer. She's the opposite of me in that way.

Hawkgirl gets out of bed determined to be Hawkgirl and to fight whenever she needs to. There's a certain intensity that Kendra brings to bear in whatever endeavor she's doing because she wants to fix the world.

Lockjaw likes morning. Breakfast and scritches!

No one should talk to Siryn until she's had at least one cup of coffee or strong black tea in the morning. What gives her hope is to keep working against discrimination against mutants.

Black Mamba gets out of bed every morning ready for her next mission that will pay handsomely.

One of the icons I associate with you is the one of Siryn drinking coffee in a lot of different panels. I'm like that in the morning just with tea. Also your current icon is adorable.

That's chibi!Shulkie. You can't see it, but she's holding chibi!Bruce's hand. It's from a thing where Marvel gave blank covers to a bunch of artists and said "draw the Hulk." They were ALL marvelous and a few of them featured Shulkie along with the Hulk, like the chibi one and this one here.
