Mwahahahahaha I'm aliiiiiive, I say.

What is your favorite internet toy? Could be a game on Facebook, etc. (Here, do not count LiveJournal or Facebook.)

[identity profile] spooky-lemur.livejournal.com 2011-04-25 12:17 pm (UTC)(link)
The Facebook games Bush Whacker, Garden of Time (although I am getting frustrated with the "you must have this many friends" wall) and Deep Realms.

I also love the emergency yodel button (http://www.emergencyyodel.com/).

Oh and welcome back!

OK, gonna have to add Zombie Lane to that list of FB games.

Hurrah for your being alive!

Recently, my favourite internet toy has been the online 'Trivial Pursuit' quiz/board game the German news magazine 'Der Spiegel' offers online.

Youtube!

More seriously, I've been getting a bit into tower defense flash games lately, especially Gemcraft: Labyrinth. I'm not especially good at them, but I try.

Also, Mousehunt on Facebook.

CITYVILLE. *pokes other online peeps to play it, or if they do, to let me know so I can add them*

I did, for a while. Then I stopped liking enough to put up with the "stuff scattering all over the screen" aspect and the energy bar.

[identity profile] bodldops.livejournal.com 2011-04-25 02:13 pm (UTC)(link)
This thing right here (http://www.seenandshared.com/clueless-crossword.htm). There's also a 'capture the cat' game that I kind of fail at hardcore, but keep trying anyway.

*eyes Oregon Trail on Facebook* My childhood!

Also, FreeRice. Vocabulary! Geography! Art! Math! Feeding people! :D

[identity profile] spooky-lemur.livejournal.com 2011-04-25 03:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh no, there's an Oregon Trail?

[identity profile] saphyria.livejournal.com 2011-04-25 03:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Yep! It's not exactly like the original (easier, unlimited bullets, no trading, upgrade wagon/oxen for speed etc.), but still good.

[identity profile] spooky-lemur.livejournal.com 2011-04-25 04:03 pm (UTC)(link)
And the Firewall at work hates it. Oh well I'll just have to try it at home. = ]

[identity profile] kippurbird.livejournal.com 2011-04-25 06:24 pm (UTC)(link)
... but running out of bullets, trading and dying horribly was half the fun!

I miss the old, old, old version that I used to play in elementary school that was just green graphics.

[identity profile] saphyria.livejournal.com 2011-04-25 06:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Seriously! That was half the reason to play! To be a banker and spend all your money on bullets and nothing else and EXTERMINATE BUFFALOS UNTIL YOU CAN'T SEE THE REST OF THE SCREEN...

Or maybe that was just my elementary school experience in the computer lab. >_>

I think my record was 14 buffalo in one 60-second hunting expedition. >___>

Also, nostalgia for running out of bullets, trading when you're desperate, and dying horribly is likely the reasoning behind the FB group, "I forded the river and my fucking ox died."

[identity profile] kippurbird.livejournal.com 2011-04-25 06:38 pm (UTC)(link)
And naming the people in your family after those you know and watching them die horrible horrible deaths, even if you didn't know what they were at the time. >__>

I was pretty bad at hunting. Wasted a ton of bullets. LOVED getting the bears. DUDE IT'S A BEAR.

I like the sound of that group. :D

[identity profile] saphyria.livejournal.com 2011-04-25 07:38 pm (UTC)(link)
You have killed 14,537 pounds of meat!
But you were only able to carry 200 pounds back to the wagon.

:(

Alas, the link won't load while I'm at work.

But I totally read your post and the mental image I had was "a trail of organs." >_> Possibly it's been a long day and I am tired and have a weird imagination.

I have difficulty picking favourites, but I'm finding Echo Bazaar great fun lately.

I don't have many online toys at the moment, so I'll list a couple of Google Chrome app/extensions that I happen to love dearly:

"Add to Amazon Wishlist"
Which...does pretty much exactly what it says on the tin. It lets you add anything from pretty much anywhere to your Amazon wishlist.

"LJ Juggler"
If you don't have this, and you use Chrome, you should. It's LJ Login for Chrome and it was made my Milliways own Ana!

[identity profile] spooky-lemur.livejournal.com 2011-04-25 04:04 pm (UTC)(link)
LJ Juggler is awesome in that it also saves Dreamwidth accounts as well!

I don't use internet toys all that much, really. Mostly when I'm bored I stick to refreshing my flist and Google Reader and occasionally wandering over to AO3. Sometimes I do have to track down Bejeweled or Robot Unicorn Attack for a bit, though, I must admit.

Cow clicker on facebook. You click your cow, but you can't click again until FIVE HOURS HAVE PASSED.

Also, your cow doesn't care if you don't click on it. It won't even die on you!

Ok, ok, it's not a game, it's a parody. But it's fun pretending that I like it!

Other than that I vandalize spam pages on the Milliwiki for fun ^__________^. The spammer has made two really lame attempts to get back at me so far, but it's still fun. Occasionally the program the spammer uses to generate spam pages produces interesting results.

Crosswords at shockwave.com and new free games that I find on lots of different sites. I'm also always downloading free one hour trials of Hidden Object games.

I'm almost done, a self-evaluation and a presentation. I still have other things to do and I'm getting annoyed at my landlords but the end is in sight. I even get a sort of break before my summer stuff.
