Mel's bisexual, and currently in a (mostly) monogamous relationship, although I mostly play her as being fine with polyamory, it just isn't the case in this relationship.

raptorcanaria "Raptor" means bird of prey, "canaria" is the species name for the canary, Serinus canaria. It's a take on binomial naming.
Dinah is also bisexual, but leans towards men: a charming good looking man is her kryptonite.

interrogoiterum "interrogo" - question. "iterum" - again. She's the second Question.
Renee is a lesbian, and a total horndog; she has had two serious relationships and cheated in the last throes of the latter. She acts more promiscuous the more her self esteem slips.

respectthegun A canon quote from the first issue of the ongoing Secret Six.
Lawton is, like Dinah, technically bisexual, but in practice mostly heterosexual. He usually tries to avoid relationships and like sex when it's very uncomplicated (prostitutes when out of jail, and no nonsense sex when inside). His current relationship has a bit of a fucked-up power dynamic; he probably wouldn't be in it if the woman in question couldn't tear him limb from limb.

originallois - The Scarlet Pimpernel was the first hero to maintain a secret identity. Marguerite was the first woman to love a man and not be aware of his heroices.
Marguerite is straight. I'm open to the idea that she had a few affairs before Percy, as she was an actress and pretty bohemian, but as Lady Blakeney, she's too in love with Percy to think of anyone else.

turned_captain It's a pun on Turner, geddit? Also he's completed his journey, and ended up captain of his own ship.
Will is 100% Lizsexual. He doesn't even know how to look at anyone else.

Death doesn't have a sexuality, because that requires biology he doesn't have. He's capable of having fondness and attachment, though, even though there's only been one person whom he purused romantically. She was a woman.

Ben Grimm (ever_lovin) is the ever lovin, blue eyed Thing and is very het...so het (read old school) in fact that when people like Daken (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daken) hit on him it makes him very uncomfortable. 
Ult. Ben Grimm's (unbreakableben) user name refers to both his invulnerable body and his spirit. His canon is pretty horrible to him, possible even worse than main canon's Ben Grimm, but he survives it mostly intact. He is also het but doesn't freak like main canon Ben if some guy hits on him.
Valeria von Doom's (val_von_doom) user name is her actual name which is fun to say. She's not sure of her orientation but it is either het or bi. 
Jessica Drew's (justdyedit) user name refers to a panel where Nick Fury points out how impressed he is that she disappeared from both SHIELD and HYDRA radar for two years and she replies "Yeah, well, I dyed my hair." I used to wonder if she was bi but recent canon and a reread of her original series is casting serious doubt on the idea.
Julie Finster (fiss84) is too young to really express an orientation but future millicanon suggests hetero. Her user name refers to her being the 84th meta-human to have the flight, invulnerability, super strength and super speed power set in her canon.
Thalia Grace (aigiochos) is hetero though she never really gets a chance for any true relationship. Her user name is an epithet of Zeus' which means Aegis bearer and refers to her copy of the aegis given to her by Zeus.
Artemus Gordon (wildwld_gadgets) is hetero player and his user name refers to both his canon, Wild Wild West, and his talent with gadgets.
Rincewind (mis_adventurer) seems hetero as any contact he has had with woman have a profound effect on him. He also somehow develops a thing for potatoes and will seek professional help with this later in life. His user name refers to his life as he is constantly thrown into adventurers when he would much rather have a safe and boring life.
Jenks (pixie_runner), with 54 kids, is very hetero and his user name is his occupation.
Babrie (thelifeplastic) is hetero but maybe bi. I don't really know to be honest, its hard to look at her that way. Her name occurred to me as a mash-up of the Aqua song and the quote "the life fantastic" which I thought was the title of a book or a Shakespeare quote but a quick google search shows nothing.

a1enzo "Alphanumeric!" is his rather inexplicable catchphrase. (It means "awesome!" for some reason.) The word alone was taken, and alphanumericenzo was too long and looks lousy anyway, so I reduced "alphanumeric" to "a1".
He is heterosexual. Being a teenager, he is extremely heterosexual. (He's also totally monogamous. Not that he doesn't find other girls attractive, he just redirects it all onto Dani.)

Carl is straight, and usually aims waaaaaaay out of his league. That said, sometimes it pays off!

awaroutthere: "There's a war out there, old friend - a world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets, it's about who controls the information." I wanted a canon quote that also worked pre-canon; in that particular sense, the war in question is Vietnam and a bit more traditional than the one Cos is waging on the global economy.
Cosmo is straight, but at this point in his life I don't think he's expecting it to amount to anything.

post_whitewash: ...er, well, she is. This is the one I'm the least satisfied with and the most blocked on alternates.
Cata is bisexual; usually if she's looking for sex for pleasure, she tends toward women, and if she's employing her wiles toward men, it's because she's on assignment. Medic is very much an exception to the rule on both fronts, should that eventually happen.

kemo_soggy: Dad misheard something (admittedly, not long after 'it's hi-ho Silver! SIGNED BAD HORSE.') as kemo-soggy, and I ran with it.
Moist is... so sure he won't have a relationship that ever amounts to anything that he hasn't thought about it that much, poor guy.

aintno_disco: Not a Sheryl Crow reference. I called the fic I wrote her backstory in "Life During Wartime," and the Talking Heads motif stuck; I've considered changing it to 'whotookthemoney' as that's what she does (and it's a clearer reference).
Conflict Diamond is bisexual, if not pansexual.

doesnotmiss: It's canon that people asked for 'the blade that never misses' when they wanted Sam. All the decent variations on that were taken, so I improvised.
Sam is very, very straight. (And had a massive lust-crush on Cata for a while, but now he has a girlfriend).

claudiometer: "Oh no no no, you do not shut down the Claudiometer!" How could I not go with something she calls herself?
Claudia hasn't really considered it; I do think she's at least slightly bi, even though the show's only thrown guys in her direction so far. Among other things, I think she's more focused on being able to have an intelligent conversation with the other person than what their bits are.

Apollo is myth-canonically bisexual, and I see no reason not to run with that. XD

Beverly is at least biromantic; I'm not sure how much thought she's really given to sex, if mostly because she has other priorities (like said supply line).

Phyllis doesn't have a journal but I feel like talking about her anyway. She's a lesbian, but because she grew up steeped in '30s/'40s 'find a nice man and settle down' expectations, she's still expecting to... well, find a nice man and settle down. But the nice thing about the Warehouse is that you're not bound to that expectation.

The Fool is bi-sexual as he really doesn't discriminate. Admittedly depending on his 'incarnation' he may favor one gender over another. His previous one like women and this one likes men more.

deathandvoid Melkor Sammeth is a god of death. I'm actually using a journal that belonged to an alternate version of him when he was a necromancer bent on becoming a god and then lord of the 'void'. Still the user name fits. He's very straight.

deadmanbuisness Theodred Sammeth (Melkor's youngest), also straight(and engaged). He's a necromancer and helps run his father's spanning empire. So dead men are his business. XD

engineermage Kale Delvar he's a mage-engineer. Technically there's no difference between an engineer and a mage-engineer, but he uses magic to make stuffs which he likes to do. Also likes guys.

reincarnshaman Trever Delvar, Kale's twin. He's been heavily reincarnated at a god's request and he's an animal shaman. Trever is straight except for Ash -said god who got him reincarnated a lot. He finds it very confusing and frustrating.

undeadgodnstar Ashley Carrey (Ashkari) is a god of the undead and a movie star. He's Melkor's eldest. He really likes the ladies. Really likes them.

nottheritestuff This is an Alec who's a teenager and an apprentice ritual mage. Hence 'rite'. He's not got it yet so he's not the rite stuff. His master's LJ is dotheritething (played by another mun) so they play off each other. He, like most Alecs, goes for the guys.

Felix is venusadept_2 because he's the second Venus Adept the player can control, assuming the games are played in chronological order. He's heterosexual, bordering on asexual. Which is to say, he experiences attraction, but not a whole lot, and it doesn't impact his decision-making as much as it seems to impact some others'.

Kain is baron_dragoon because he's a Dragoon (in fact, the commander of the Dragoons) in the kingdom of Baron. He is... I want to say "repressed", but I'm not sure that's accurate. He definitely wants Rosa, but I don't know that it's necessarily a hormonal want.

Karis is windy_karis because as much as I like theme naming I can't stick to it her name is Karis, and she's affiliated with elemental wind. From the day her name was first announced, there were three account names I kept checking to see if someone was making an RP account, and this was one of them. She's straight, but I get the feeling that in canon she's too busy to deal with any kind of relationships. Afterward... who knows?

And as for me, kd7sov is simply my ham radio callsign. I tend to use it a lot on the internet; not so much anywhere else.

For a minute, I skipper over the user in user name. User name makes sense, since some pups don't have stories behind their actual names and that would be a toughie.

Anyhow, never_b_free is a reference to a song by Garbage and a reference to the way I am playing her: as a goddess trapped inside a humans body. never_be_free was being used at the time, but now it is purged. I would grab it, but, laziness.

Amascut, I think, is supposed to be related to the latin word for amass or accumulate. The pseudonym I picked out for her, Sarah Black, is a reference to Saint Sara-la-Kali who has very interesting stories surrounding her and the way she is venerated. It was totally by accident that I chose a name in the Twilight canon for her. I swear!

Amascut, I feel is hetero, mostly because there is no evidence in game of ANY homosexual relationships. Some players have complained that one quest requires you to enter a hetero marriage with one of two NPCs (Who later die tragic horrible deaths). But, this is a game where gender bending is very possible and is in fact a requirement for male characters in one quest (Think of Eowyn's "But no living man am I! You look upon a woman."*STAB* moment.) But even though Amascut is hetero, she will engage in homosexual and even cross-species relations if there is a possibility of screwing someone over.

I don't even know if that pun was intended.

All my characters who canonically have sexualities are het except the Beacon Mal, who was established to be gay way back in Aberrant: Teragen. Ryûk is another exception, because shiki shinigami don't have sexuality, just genders. If they were allowed to have sex, I think he'd be either het or Light-sexual.

I think Jack is basically straight. I hold back on saying he'd never try anything with another guy because there's part of me that wonders if it was someone he trusted to an extreme degree, and he was in the right mood (and maybe a little drunk, so he wasn't as inhibited) and the stars were aligned the right way, if he wouldn't give it a go. He's got so many issues anyway that any sexual partner of his has to be someone he *really* trusts (after he works out some of those issues, even), and most of the time it really wouldn't come up or cross his mind.

Or at least that's RP Jack. I can totally slash him with a few people in fics. :D

As for his user name, "trigger_man" seemed apt partly because of how often he's had to be the one to "pull the trigger" (in a literal and metaphorical sense), but also because his actions can sometimes be a catalyst for other things in the show. The journal was originally made for another RP that never really got off the ground, where the storyline made that last meaning even more important, but it fits canon!Jack as well.

Lucas's journal name comes from his rare ability to pull the seven needles that keep the Dark Dragon asleep. Lucas is straight but also a young boy who lost his mother three years ago, so it'll be a bit before he becomes aware of such feelings for the ladies that aren't related to missing maternal affection.

Mia's journal name, gorgonfondness, comes from my favorite scene of her in canon. The group's in Damon's Spire and must sculpt a priceless treasure out of an enormous amount of clay. Everyone can get a turn to pick what they sculpt since they don't know what will impress Damon. If Mia is chosen, she will direct everyone to sculpt a gorgon, which she then coos over. Nash comments that he never knew she had such a fondness for monsters. Mia is pretty much straight, though I could see her being a bit interested in ladies. It's a moot point since she's married to Draco now.

As for sexuality - ahaha. Straight. Straight straight straight. He is the straightest straight man that ever walked in a straight line down the straight street. He is a Roman road. He once 'hit a man for speaking French' - imagine what he does to people who dare to suggest that he might ever look at another man in a sexual way. Canon is very specifc on what he thinks about blokes doing stuff with other blokes ('disgusting' is about the politest thing he says, I think), but at the same time, he's not...well, actually, I can't in good conscience say he's not homophobic, because he blatantly is. But when it comes down to it, the only thing he actually cares about is 'innocent or guilty', so as long as a bloke doesn't a) hit on him, or b) suggest he is anything other than TOTALLY STRAIGHT, he's ambivalent towards a person's sexuality.

We'll just overlook his unhealthy obsession with male bonding for now.

will_scarlett Its his name and was the first username after my own I created on LJ. He is terribly straight and medieval so when he first learned about some of the couples in Bar, it broke his brain.

makesthings There's a canon quote where Sameth says the only thing he's good at is making things. That's where the name came from. He's also straight and currently attached to Kait.

wheatencrown In some representations of Demeter, she has a wheat crown so her name.
Demeter is straight, due to being a fertility goddess, I can't see her with a woman. She encourages all types of relationships and believes sex is good but for her, men make her happy.

morethanprops This is a variation on canon where Moist talks about furniture and props to create a character. He is bisexual and just wants to have a good time.

jane_becomes Jane's from a movie called Becoming Jane and this was the first variation of the title that worked as a username.
She's straight and quite in love with Tom.

not_his_pa Most of William's arc in his canon comes from him understanding why his father made the choices he does. At the end he understands his father better but still defines himself through his father.

friend_of_lucy Tumnus defines himself as Lucy's friend and chat helped create this username. I think Bethan suggested it and I love it.

alwayshaveaplan - The motto of the Athena kids, of Annabeth, and of Athena herself is to 'always, always have a plan'. Annabeth, herself, quotes this at one point.
➝ Annabeth is heterosexual. There's a part of me that thinks there's a possibility she might be bi-curious at some point, but mostly she likes the boys.

evercleverest - She's always described as being the cleverest witch of her year, so I just took that and went with it.
➝ Hermione is also heterosexual. I've never seen her as anything but that, and her history has shown that she's only ever really been interested in boys.

skeptictraveler - Rory is kind of the 'straight' (not sexually) man of Team TARDIS. He's the one who kind of questions the INSANITY that is traveling with the Doctor ('Are you sure about this?'), but he still goes along with it. Hence skeptic traveler.
➝ Rory is most definitely heterosexual. I'd even say he's almost entirely Amy-sexual. He's very steadfast with her.

cannotforget - Ruby once told Dean, in the parking lot of a cheap motel, that she can still remember what it's like to be human. Essentially: she can't forget it.
➝ Ruby is ... gah. I don't even know. She is a pretty sexual character; she'll have sex with anyone, so long as you're hot. Man, woman, demon, it's all good. Man/woman-in-a-demon, well - awesome.

setsthetrap - Gale is known for his ability to set traps. He also sets the trap that [SPOILER]. So! Traps are his thing.
➝ I think relationships and that whole thing are generally difficult to deal with/do in District 12 because they so have bigger problems. But for the most part, Gale is probably heterosexual. And also kind of in love with Katniss.

river_meimei: Meimei means "little sister," and is both what Simon calls her frequently and how she tends to interact with the world.

River is bi, currently dating a guy but not necessarily exclusively; she'd be good with poly if everyone else involved was cool with it too. (Being psychic is sometimes handy for this kind of thing.)

3nanashi: Nanashi means "no-name" in Japanese, which is what Trowa's name was before he was Trowa, and he was pilot 03 in canon.

Trowa is 6-on-the-Kinsey-scale gay. If you ask him about a woman's attractiveness, he will estimate based on other people's reactions, the symmetry of her features and how they match current beauty standards, etc. (Okay, if you ask him about a lot of guys, that's true too, but that's because Trowa's repressed and analytical.)

steelartisan: Piotr is frequently made of steel -- okay, organic steel, thanks comics -- and he's an artist.

Piotr is straight. Also currently very monogamously committed to the girlfriend he's been in love with for *cough* years, but he dated around some before that.

regan_tam: Uh, it's her name. Straightforward!

Regan is on the mostly-attracted-to-guys end of bi, I think. Also, she's been married for a few decades and this is definitely a monogamously faithful marriage, but.

taishar_malkier: means "true blood of Malkier" in the Old Tongue of his canon. It's something you say in approval/honor to someone who's been particularly valiant or honorable or brave or whatever, especially in a warrior context. Since Lan is stiff with honor and also the last heir of the Malkieri royal family, it seemed fitting to sum him up.

Lan is straight. I don't know if he's 100% straight or only 90%, but solidly hetero, anyway. (Canon gives us no evidence he's slept with any guys, and clear statements that he's been with a lot of women.) Another in the married-and-completely-monogamous category.

authorsbypass: Edel gives out plot-relevant gems, either as plot points or as cryptic hints. At one point, she offers a gem which is called, depending on your translation, "narrative convenience," "author's convenience," or "author's bypass." (Yeah, it's basically the gem of Because The Author Said So. This is that kind of canon.) Since she's also the cryptically oracular deus ex machina character the in-story author uses to pass through the fourth wall and affect the story... yeah.

Also, Edel is a puppet. Your sexual orientation is invalid.

hawkeyed_riza: Her name is Riza Hawkeye. She's a sniper. The nickname potential is obvious, including to other characters.

She's straight. And in, uh, monogamously repressed UST, as I play it? Hawkeye and Mustang have some issues, although in this case it's also relevant that they're in an army and have non-fraternization regulations to contend with. (But they also have some issues.)

I wouldn't be shocked if some of the 'adult modeling' she's done involved same-sex action, and I think she might be capable of falling in love with a woman. In her words in the pilot: "I think Rules are made to be broken, and I think everyone should be as free with their sexuality and as open as they want to be with as many people as they possibly can, because you only go around once in this world. All right? As long as you take a shower, I don't see what the big deal is."

Her username is inspired by the Season 3 episode "Released from Prison," in which she becomes a groupie for Steely Dan after being released from prison and tossed off the force. Since The Dan is 'the soundtrack to her entire life': "And using the thing that I know how to do with people's heads, I'm going to get them to change the title of that song from 'Hey Nineteen' to 'Hey 35 and Holding'. I'm gonna do it, I swear."


luvitwnurescume - Dixie is straight, eventually turning Briscosexual by the end of the series. I don't know if she'd ever give a woman a shot.

Her username is inspired by something she often says when Brisco does rescue her (with the implication that she can save herself but lets him do it. "I just love it when you rescue me.")
