Not exactly uninvolved bystander, but I kinda just did that over the weekend by way of taking an Artifact and writing about the guy who has it in the episode.

Personally? I'm still incredibly amazed no one in Alex's canon thought 'gosh, this kid is constantly disappearing and showing up injured; what if he's being abused?'

I've actually been working on this as part of my big Sameth story especially for post canon and some pre-canon. Its not ready to share yet but I love this idea.

Also, Cata's Millicanon/plot is... pretty much what uninvolved bystanders in Villains By Necessity got. Not everyone got the Mizzamir brainwashing special (some people didn't need it to fall into the Good category), but still, SURPRISE THE WORLD JUST GOT COMPLICATED AGAIN.
