I saw a hummingbird moth! They are pretty fabulous, and one of those critters where you know what they're called on sight even if you've never heard of them before. I'd only seen one once before.
Oh those are awesome! We occasionally get them around our cabin, because they like the hollyhocks. It's fun to mess with people who don't know what they are, because they can be slightly frightening when you first see them. >_>
No real stories from this weekend, alas. Saturday was laundry day. Sunday and Monday I did twenty-six miles each on the bike- on Sunday it was a loop from Hoboken up to the George Washington Bridge and then down the Hudson River on NYC's side until taking the PATH train over from the Great Big Hole (the World Trade Center PATH station). Monday I took the bike in to Central Park and rode the six-mile path around the park three times, getting up Cardiac Hill twice. (There's a cut through just before the hill that I used the third time.)
I did, however, get a good selection at Borders' 60-80% going-out-of-business sale, including a memoir from one of the guys who flies Predator unmanned drones in Afghanistan. While sitting at Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada. That should be interesting to read.
Also a book by one of the people who worked on the Phoenix Mars lander project. And one from a doctor who works at the place in Rhode Island with Oscar the hospice cat.
That. Looks. AWESOME. I think one of the podcasts I listen to had an episode w/audio from their experience doing something like that in London and it sounded crazy and insane and AWESOME.
*Beams* It is so much fun. I did one last year, as well with the same group, and it's such an intense experience - the shows tend to be cheesy as all hell, because it's impossible to produce anything serious and highbrow under those circumstances, and that is exactly what you want. And it's lovely and positive because of all the support you get from people - the audience are basically willing you to succeed all the way through. It's a rush.
Saturday I hung a cabinet/shelve thing correctly the first time without having to go to the hardware store once. This was a big deal as I always end up going at leats once if not twice.
Sunday I road 11 miles with the family which was nice even though I kept having to brake so I didn't pass my daughter.
Monday I fought a migraine all day and finally beat it in the evening. My place in the world was reaffirmed (since all went well on Saturday) as I had to go to the hardware store to fix the weather stripping I had installed on the garage door earlier in the day.
I spent all day Sunday hanging out with my brother and sister-in-law watching the Jurassic Park marathon on the Space channel. Good to know I still have that enormous crush on Alan Grant.
Oh and even with that I *still* managed to get my podcast edited before midnight lst night. ...Just not actually posted.

Amascut got chased out of Milliways by a pack of cute fuzzy exploding critters. but uther than that, my weekend was horrible. And to top it all off, the milliwiki got spammed with pages about acid reflux remedies. After I admitted to a having a horrible time with dispepsia over crackchat
