What's your character's favorite food? That is, assuming your character eats, of course. Does your character have any other strong food preferences or dislikes? Any dietary restrictions- religious, medical, personal, etc.? Are they in an economic or personal situation where food preferences and desires are something that actually matter, or is it a case of take-what-you-can-get with them? How do they approach food in general?

Rapunzel enjoys a variety, and probably wouldn't pick a favorite, though she does have a sweet tooth, at times.
KK's favorite is booze. Food is basically fuel to keep going.

That being said, there's not much he won't eat be it groceries or drywall or Pleakley's face.
How does he approach food in general? With ENTHUSIASM.

Kain... apparently loves devil's food cake. I didn't know that before.
Fluttershy likes simple foods, especially things that both she and the animals around her can eat - which mostly means salads. (For the record, she has tried birdseed. But it's not very satisfying to an adult equine.) When she's had an absolutely awful day, sometimes she likes to have a pear. But Ponyville is firmly Apple territory, so pears aren't available very often.

Bacon sarnies, for one. Or fried egg sarnies. Chips. Pies. Spaghetti hoops on toast. Garibaldi biscuits, pink wafers. A Curly-Wurly used to mix (five-sugar-strong) tea goes down a treat.
80s!Gene is seen eating pasta more than once; mainly, I think, because his favoured watering hole also happens to be an Italian resturant. So...carbs and fat then, basically.
Could never be accused of a vaired diet, Gene.

He would like me to point out that he does eat veg too. Once a week, with his mother's Sunday roast. Parsnips roasted in honey are his favourite. And peas in butter. *pats him*
As to his attitude towards food - he likes it! But he doesn't eat constantly or anything. His very favourite food group happens to be called 'alcohol'.

Also I would adore threading with Gene whenever your schedule loosens up! :D He is wonderful.

http://www.ocado.com/webshop/product/Crawfords-Pink-Wafers/43322011 Pink wafers! They may look dodgy but believe me, they are actually fantastic. Mmm, yum. Now I want some. (And, wtf self? Totally forgotten how to hide a link behind text. Idk.)
Gene, and you, are right! Honey roasted parsnips are fabulous. I just laugh that his favourite veg also has to be cooked in sugar and/or fat. Bless him. *fond*

Gene is adorably silly in the way of vegetable preferences. <3

Cata and Sam both strike me as fans of stick-to-your-ribs type food, especially if there's an assignment to be had - you never know how long that might take, after all, and you can't really stop for a snack halfway through. Also, while Sam gets blindingly drunk at the beginning of the book, it's noted that that's pretty much exclusively because he's depressed; alcohol does bad things to one's concentration and steadiness of hand.

According to canon, Sameth's favorite meal is a basically cooked white fish with a rice or pilaf dish on the side. I think he has a sweet spot for some of the dishes that he had at school in Ancelsteirre which were just different enough to be nice.
William's diet is fairly basic as well. The treats he loves are rock candy and various sodas and Thalia's teaching him to really like things like burgers.
Moist's favorite treat is any kind of Uberwaldian pastry, which is of the sweet and doughy variety. Otherwise he likes quality and will happily eat what's presented.
Demeter tends to eat simply and very fresh mainly things from her own garden or local farmers in the area.
Tumnus is I think vegetarian, I need to check canon for that, but Narnian food is of the elegant and simple type.
The Pirate King loves sherry and otherwise I think eats whatever he feels like.

He's got a nostalgic fondness for British pub food but really Spike can only taste strong flavors -- onion, garlic, strong cheese, chili peppers, citrus (he doesn't like it, but he can taste it), Marmite. Tiny marshmallows not withstanding, he's not much on sweets. He mostly eats for texture variety, hence his fondness for Weetabix and crispy fried things. Do not try to feed him oatmeal, even if it has blood in.
Basically you won't go far wrong if you order for Spike as if you grew up working class in London in 1970, are teething, and have a severe cold.

I decided on my own that this was an explanation that would hang together and be consistent, but I certainly don't expect all other Buffyverse players to stick to it if they have their own ideas of how it works. Spike is used to being odd.

Food is actually part of the Mother 3 healing system. Certain characters like and dislike different foods, which makes the food healing items more or less effective. There's also a nausea battle status that prevents a character from eating healing items aside from fresh mints, which will cure the nausea. Being the protagonist of a Mother game, the player actually gets to pick what Lucas's favorite food is. But the default option is omelets. In comparison, Ninten of Mother/Earthbound Zero likes prime rib and Ness of Mother 2/Earthbound likes steak. Lucas also likes cheese, like his father Flint.

So far, what he eats is actually a pretty good barometer for his day. If he's ordering mac and cheeseburger and a ovaltine, it's been one of those. But usually you can find him with something he's tried from Bar when he eats in. Usually the tentacles in cream sauce, blue soup squash, or a big plate of paradoxes.
...if you went with a drink he'd have anytime, either world, it'd be the Mad Dog Smoothie. (random fruit, random ice cream, random soda, and ice inna blender with pop-rocks)
At home, what he eats is based on three things: if he can cook it himself, how much money he's got in his allowance, and if it'll take the place of two of the meals served at school. No one tries anything at breakfast, but there's lots of food fights come lunch or dinner in the cafeteria.

Dixie is omnivorous in my head-canon, though she never says anything canonically about preferences.
