What? No DE AGAIN?
What a bunch of slackers y'all are. Pfft.
It's a sad day when Battycakes has to get up early(ish) and take the reins for the DE.
Actually, it's a happy day! Not the getting up early(ish) thing, that stinks, but I don't think I've ever done the DE. So yaaay!
Ack, now I'm nervous. What do I do? What do I do?
OH! I know! Let's go with an oldie but a goodie that seems to bring all the boys (and girls) to the yard!
PROMPT FIC TIIIIIIIME! \o/
And to make it easy on you lazy (and busy) folks, lets make it three sentence fic.
Feel free to abuse punctuation and make it your bitch (or forget the three sentence barrier and go nuts)!
So:
Post in your pups and people will tag them with pairings and/or prompts; be it a word, song lyric, or situation, whatever. Then, fill the prompt with a three (or more) sentence ficcage! Laa!
Easy, no? Fun, yes?
Aright then, let's go get 'em!
[P.S. Someone fill in those empty happy hour spots. It makes me sad to see no shifts taken, but I haven't the time myself. Pick someone fun and new and roll with it! Meet new folks! Have wacky hijinks! Doooo eeeeeet!]

Artie-Trust me when I say you're wrong.
Twilight Sparkle-The problem of dragon growth spurts
Alyx: Her hideout. (ca. summer 2001)
She used to be talkative, with a remarkable vocabulary for a two-year-old; now, she never says a word. She used to be an inquisitive, energetic child; now, she just sits in a corner, bundled up in the comforter from the bed in the motel where she and her father are staying.
It's her refuge, her safe haven. As long as she hides under the blanket, the monsters can't get her.
Right?

He is heir to the night, and the shadows, and the secret places between worlds, as are all of his kin. His dignity and grace are a part of his very being, from his whiskers to the tip of his tail.
But the scent of that finest of all herbs is a siren song. It calls him back to old pleasures, both the innocence of a kitten leaping at shadows and the more mature delights of a queen's heat-cries.
It would be downright unfeline to resist its call. So he doesn't.
His kin will forgive him. They would do the same.

It's wonderful and brilliant, and I'm sure any cat would agree spot on.

The past week has been a blur of crying babies, messy diapers, and an endless stream of visitors coming to fawn over the first children born in sixteen years. Alyx doesn't think she's slept more than twenty minutes at a stretch since she went into labor. She knows that Gordon hasn't, because he's barely left her side since then.
And yet, when she looks into her children's eyes (a vivid green, like their father's), she can't bring herself to mind any of it in the least.

A beat.
"Well? Don't you have anything to say for yourself?"
Pete gives Artie a hang-dog expression as he squeezes the bulb-horn in his hand. Honk.

Artie: There's no way that'll fit.

"I know, D0G. But you have to stay here and take care of the twins. I can handle myself."
> ALYX WILL BE IN DANGER
"I don't care. I'm not leaving Gordon in there, and I'm not leaving Hope and Eli unprotected. Those forcefields will fry your circuits in half a second, so that means I have to go in and you get to stay here."
> ALYX'S CHANCE OF SURVIVAL IS NO GREATER THAN 22.8%
"We've done the impossible a hundred times before, D0G. What's one more?"

Like the thin, flat paper parcel that Ditzy Doo dropped off this afternoon. Twilight quickly squirreled it away under her mattress before Spike could see it. It's not until late at night, after Spike is asleep, that she pulls it out and removes the brown paper cover.
The cover depicts a brown stallion with an hourglass cutie mark, rearing on his hind legs as he faces a herd of metallic horses. The title proclaims it to be Doctor Whooves, issue #375: "Rise of the Cyberponies."
Even academics have their guilty pleasures.
