DE & a PSA

So...how about them PBs? Having trouble finding someone you like or curious to see what folks would suggest for your pup? Tag in with a pup and see what folks offer as advice for the PB; either what you already use, suggestions for ones to use or play with alternate castings.

As to the PSA, I have the blah so likely won't be tagging today. I may surprise myself but at least for now I need a day off.

So far I have stuck to canon images for Karkat--there are PLENTY, and particularly the talksprites from the walkaround scenes in canon cover a wide variety of emotions and reactions. Plus trollifying someone is hard.

I am curious about what PB people would suggest, though! Either to be trollified or for if Karkat puts on a human disguise like Nepeta's. I have sometimes thought he should have a South Asian PB because the modified-Sanskrit name puts that in my head, but really it is wide open on that front.

I saw a pretty convincing Karkat cosplayer on dA once, but there was only the one image. Also I'm not sure I could find 'em again.

Trollifying people IS hard. I've been doing it to make icons for a fantroll-ish character* and it's EXHAUSTING. I don't find it terribly difficult to do the colors, but drawing the horns is a pain in the ass. ARGH HIGHLIGHTS AND SHADING DIRECTION ARGH PERSPECTIVE HOW DO THESE THINGS WORK.

Have you seen the video for 2NE1's I am the Best (http://youtu.be/j7_lSP8Vc3o)? At the end one of the ladies has her hair styled like troll horns (at around 2:20). Perhaps some screencaps can go a long way?

I'm actually pretty good with most of my PBs, and half of them are visual canons anyway. So instead, why I chose the ones I got to choose:

I've been doing fairly well at picking PBs, I think.

I'm still waiting for a face to jump out at me going, "I AM A YOUNG TOLKIEN!" It hasn't happened as of yet.

Joseph Fiennes has struck me as having the same facial bones, but I don't know if he's right in your head or not.
