ATTN: SORRY YOU ARE PROBABLY REALLY SICK OF MOD POSTS BY NOW

Some things!

  1. If you haven't yet, you still have just over 24 hours to vote on whether Milliways should move to Dreamwidth. If you're not sure, or have some concerns, do read through the comments to see which issues we've already addressed (some new ones since the last update!), or ask us your questions there. If you've changed your mind and want to switch your vote, you can do so here.

  2. Since we just got a question on this, I thought it might not be a bad idea to put it where people can see. The question was:

If I and the person(s) I want to thread with have already imported our character journals to Dreamwidth, can we thread an OOM over there to be linked to from the main bar?

    Short answer: Go for it!

Slightly longer answer: Go for it! At the moment, LJ is literally unusable for some people, whether that's due to floating ads, migraine-inducing site schemes, or other accessibility issues. While all content must still be posted to [livejournal.com profile] milliways_bar for as long as we remain on LJ, threading OOMs on Dreamwidth is currently the easiest - or even the only - way for some people to play.

Additionally, in an ideal world, any hypothetical move to Dreamwidth would involve us being able to get everyone to go back and change as many OOM links as possible to point to the relevant mirror locations on Dreamwidth. While this degree of willing hyper-organisation is a bit of a pipe-dream, anything that reduces the game archive's current reliance on LJ is a plus.

Okay, I have got to stop relying on other people to deliver my messages

ANYHOW

Milliways' CSS currently ignores <small> tags, and possibly <big> as well, but I haven't attempted using the big tag.

I think this is because somewhere in the CSS there is a line that says something like small {font-size:100%;}. Could you tweek the custom CSS so that it says something like small {font-size:75%;} or something sensible?

I have actually been prodding at that, and I cannot for the life of me figure out wtf is causing it. :/ Is it particularly urgent?

Not, really, I guess I am just used to OOC asides being in tiny text. Do you know if <font size=-1> still works here? A fellow mun was complaining that it wasn't working (in another community, presumably) which reminded me to bug you directly about it.

oh right, duh, I can test it in a comment

One small tag does this. Two nested small tags do this.

One big tag does this. Two nested big tags do this.

This is font size=-2This is font size +2

This text is wrapped in h1 tags

Block quotes look pretty in some journal styles. In others, not so much.

Actually, it looks like your poking has fixed the problem at least for the backroom, but font size is not being obeyed. Oh well, who needs font size when you got big and small? Big and Small still aren't working in the main comm
