Daily Entertainment.

What's your 'guilty pleasure' movie? Do you even have one, or are you very publicly adamant about your love of Bordello of Blood?

I mean. >_>

I'm not sure I have one at all, since I'm pretty open and pleased with all the movies I love, but it might be that one. *points at icon*

I have several, but the guiltiest of the guilty is probably Cruel Intentions.

It makes me laugh far more than it probably should.

Ohhhh, I love Cruel Intentions.

I'm not even ashamed. :P

The first movie that popped into my head was "Head Over Heels" with Freddie Prinze Jr.

It's horribly stupid, terribly acted and I watch it every single time it comes on and laugh my ass off.

I don't think they're guilty per se. I'm not outspoken about them but I did enjoy Cutthroat Island (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0112760/) and the film version of Wild Wild West (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120891/).

In my defense, Cutthroat Island did feature a kick ass female lead who rescued the male lead several times and was never rescued herself while Wild Wild West had Kevin Kline.

The Blues Brothers. No need to feel guilty about the music in the film. But the rest of is pure crap. And I love it.

Honorable mention to Buckaroo Banzai, which is very ambitious, at least, but is the sort of film that people think I am nuts to love.

Buckaroo Bonzai! I had forgotten all about that one! And Time Bandits, too! Now, I am feeling the urge for a craptacular movie marathon!

TIME BANDITS! Not for the first time I wonder if the map is in the lost and found or framed somewhere within the bar.

Have you watched Buckaroo Banzai with the Hong Kong Cavaliers "facts" caption track?

I need to track that down, along with the commentary for Spinal Tap where the band spends two hours cursing out the director for getting everything wrong.

Having grown up in Minnesota, the Mighty Ducks movies were one of those groups of films that pretty much everybody in my class had seen. Though I'm actually not that much of a hockey fan. As evidenced by the fact that I believed the knucklepuck actually worked until I was about twelve.

I don't think I have any as I love watching all sorts of things and will share them.

[identity profile] remindmeofthe.livejournal.com 2012-01-10 05:42 pm (UTC)(link)
A Knight's Tale. The script is awful, the story is stupid, the smug use of anachronisms is annoying, the overly clever soundtrack is overly clever, and the wrong couple ends up together in the end.

And yet: the cast. Oh my god, the cast. They suck me in every time.
ceitfianna: (Dean rock on)

[personal profile] ceitfianna 2012-01-10 06:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, that movie so much yes. Whenever it comes on TV I end up watching it all the way through even though I really dislike the main love interest.

[identity profile] remindmeofthe.livejournal.com 2012-01-10 06:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Jocelyn is so horrible I still wince when I see Shannyn Sossamon in anything, and William is pretty freaking obnoxious himself. But Wat is adorable, Chaucer is delightful, Kate is fantastic, Adhemar is ridiculous in all the fun ways, and that's all down to the fabulous cast because god knows the writing doesn't have anything to do with it.

Tremors

In fact the entire series of Tremors movies and their breif TV show. Those are my less than grand movies that I love. There are times when I swear Burt Gummer has left ammo boxes in my skull, JUST IN CASE.

I totally play from most of my guilty pleasure canons - the Evil Dead trilogy probably counts, but I love Psycho Beach Party as well.
