Work, with tangerines! As my whole work place is beginning to become enamored with my Free-Fresh-Fruit-Istead-Of-Candy Bowl. And stuff. There is stuff for some nine hours in there, and then I will get to come home and write up the first threaded oom for Marian in like three years.



RE: DE -- We have done a DE where we give each other songs and playlists for each others characters in a while? Well, unless I missed it. I almost stole The Weekend DE for is this past weekend!

You know that fresh fruit instead of candy is a good idea I think I'll try to emulate!

As with me it's the same refrain for work being crazy with a dash of "oh shit, I have a logo submission due in a few hours"!

I'm also looking at image hosting for things I've in my scrapbook. Came across my old imageshake account and trying that. Anyone wanna suggest a service that allows animated gifs?

My life's pretty boring lately. Busy, but not especially stimulating. Today I plan to take the baby I watch to the railroad park to interact with other babies and play nice with the other nannies and mommies.

A DE idea...a magical unicorn, genie, chocolate chip cookie, etc. shows and tells you that you get ONE wish. What is it? Post your wish and have other players dissect it and tell you how it will be misconstrued or taken too literally and then go horribly wrong.

I went to a talk about hiring in public libraries that was scary but useful. I need to pay bills today and set myself to doing job things.

Are you another librarian? I finished my degree last summer and I have a part time job at my university but really want to work in a public library. It's just hard to get within sight of the kind of job I want.

Yep. I work at a public library in Denmark now, but I used to work in the private sector, mainly with web stuff.

My degree is from a School of Information so though I want to do public library work, I'm expecting to end up doing some online things as well.

I graduated from what was then called The Roayal School of Library and Information Science. They've changed ot now, but it did have a ring to it ;)

Nice, I know the US and Denmark are probably different in a lot of ways for hiring but I'd love to pick your brain for thoughts and advice at some point. As I love how Milliways seems to collect librarians or at least folks who love books. One reason I attended the program I did at Michigan was because of a Milliways' friend who'd gone through it.

Feel free :) But yes, probably significant differences as in many other areas.

*nods* Yeah, I've lived and studied abroad, so I know how there can be differences along with similarities but still public librarian. What's your preferred method of communication?

I can offer email, aim or not sure what else, other things can be figured out.
