(no subject)

FAO all patrons:

the bar has just exploded. There is glass shrapnel behind the bar, and no intact bottles. Normal service will be resumed as soon as we work out quite what that is. ;)

Joe is offering skeleton service with the Emergency Potato, which has a keg tap in that dispenses vodka. Assuming there are glasses left.

Emergency bar service is here:

Perhaps Dionysius & his flask can join Joe...

That post cracked my shit up. *high fives*

[identity profile] joewithnoname.livejournal.com 2004-11-05 07:53 pm (UTC)(link)
That's gratifying to hear from a legend in the comm. :)

The eerie thing is, Joe came to be carrying around a potato that magically dispenses vodka in a logical(!) way, and it was even marked 'In Case of Emergency.' The bar clearly plans ahead.

*is frightened.*

*laughs* Well, sometimes I think the bar is all knowing. I think one of these days we're going to find out who the Landlord is, and it's the chunk of wood sitting in front of the kitchen entrance...:D

A legend, huh? *chuffed* *grins*

[identity profile] granny-esme.livejournal.com 2004-11-05 08:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, in theory, Charlie, David, Joe, and sundry others are going on a Quest to see if they can't find him...

[identity profile] pubdog.livejournal.com 2004-11-05 08:36 pm (UTC)(link)
The Roughneck club, right? I loved that idea.

If you wanted to find a Relic of some sort, Sirius could have planted something, out by the lake...:D Perhaps made a treasure map...

[identity profile] granny-esme.livejournal.com 2004-11-05 08:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Sadly, neither of my scrawny new characters are involved... and I don't think they expected to actually find the Landlord, but hey! Mystic Quest!

On the other hand, I'll make sure to bring this point to their attention. *grins, and feels all special that she's talking to a Major Character!*

[identity profile] pubdog.livejournal.com 2004-11-05 08:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh thanks! Sorry, I didn't look at the username. *slaps own hand*

Ex-major character. *grins and shrouds himself in mystique*

[identity profile] granny-esme.livejournal.com 2004-11-05 08:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Is all right; after all, I did say "sundry others" as well. *grins* No, no, you're doing that all wrong, here, let me help...

Oooh, look! Mystique! Although, considering the number of XMen who've been making their way in here lately... that could get messy... *grins again*

And for what it's worth, speaking as a newbie player who's been around for maybe as long as three weeks or so, I'm sure that just about everyone would love to have you back.

[identity profile] pubdog.livejournal.com 2004-11-05 08:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, I wish I could. As Sirius, I mean. But there's just not enough time in my day, I'm sorry to say. And Skandramun would never forgive me. :D

Nice to know Sirius is still remembered, though.

You can slap my hand anytime, baby...

[identity profile] granny-esme.livejournal.com 2004-11-05 09:01 pm (UTC)(link)
What about as someone else, then? *is utterly utterly clueless as to whether or not you've already got another character, or for that matter if she's interacted with said character if said character(s) do indeed exist*

Well, I don't know if I've ever actually been in a conversation that mentioned him, but I've seen quite a few. Especially with Remus only just recently coming in.

*adds you to list*

[identity profile] pubdog.livejournal.com 2004-11-05 09:16 pm (UTC)(link)
*grins* Well, I have other incidental characters that show up once in a blue moon. But 'm not saying who they is. :D

[identity profile] granny-esme.livejournal.com 2004-11-05 09:17 pm (UTC)(link)
*pouts*

*is currently eating a very tasty steak, though, and therefore can't be bothered to mind TOO much*

*would still like to be squecial and In The Know, though*

::bows and worships::

Charlie and the sundry others would love to find a relic of some sort :).

Failure is in the cards, but we can be persuaded otherwise as we don't quite have an ending to the quest yet. Barely a beginning. Summat of a middle. It'll be quite grand.

[identity profile] pubdog.livejournal.com 2004-11-05 09:39 pm (UTC)(link)
well, there's always the old comedic ending. Following a treasuremap all over hell and beyond, and then finally reaching the treasure and it's, you know, a box of old LPs, or some shiny but worthless rocks, or a particularly good candy bar. :D

Let me know if the four of you are interested, and I shall compose a map and create a treasure.

[personal profile] bloodyrockgod 2004-11-05 09:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, absolutely interested! Whoo!

Our model for the quest, more or less, is the Wizard of Oz and we've been trying to think of a good man behind the curtain. If you want to provide it that would rock beyond the telling.

[identity profile] pubdog.livejournal.com 2004-11-05 09:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, it depends on how much time commitment there is, but if you want to aim me at some threads describing what y'all are planning I'd be happy to take a look :)

[personal profile] bloodyrockgod 2004-11-05 09:56 pm (UTC)(link)
We've got a community: [livejournal.com profile] quixotic_quest where we're doing the planning and will probably do the quest itself.

If you want to just tell me where and what we'll find I'll bring that in as we play--if you want Sirius (or another character?) to show up that would be great too.

[identity profile] kassandraloxias.livejournal.com 2004-11-06 06:07 am (UTC)(link)
You're going to be really chuffed in that doghouse. I hope it has heating.

[identity profile] pubdog.livejournal.com 2004-11-06 09:12 am (UTC)(link)
Dude, he didn't make her come down to the Bar with him or ANYTHING.

And he...er...brought her back breakfast in bed?

Kippers?

[identity profile] wine-women-song.livejournal.com 2004-11-05 07:37 pm (UTC)(link)
can you post a link to the actual explosion? i can't seem to find it.

[identity profile] toddbaby.livejournal.com 2004-11-05 09:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Hey, should I be talking to a mod about the consequences of this at all? Just curious.

[identity profile] giftedthom.livejournal.com 2004-11-05 09:38 pm (UTC)(link)
My reaction, in stages:

!!!!!

OMG!!!!! Sirius! :O

Wooow.

HOORAY LESS OUCH-Y AND ALSO BAR EXPLODE-Y IS COOL.

. . .

Oh shit, I'm gonna die. *makes like Rincewind and skedaddles. cannot spell skedidadadedaddle. wah.*

[identity profile] theprettiestone.livejournal.com 2004-11-05 09:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Thom dies and Alex goes berserk. You do realise this?

[identity profile] toddbaby.livejournal.com 2004-11-05 10:29 pm (UTC)(link)
And, um, are the words still there? :is confused:

[personal profile] v_knidh8er 2004-11-05 10:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, the Loompas are gonna be pissed.
*snicker*

[identity profile] go-between.livejournal.com 2004-11-06 06:39 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, so is Richard.

I had him clean up the broken glass and dirty dishes, but there's probably still alcohol residue everywhere.

Damned sloppy saviors!

^_~

[personal profile] v_knidh8er 2004-11-06 09:25 am (UTC)(link)
I'll have the Loompas do a sweep through. No worries.
