Artemis counts on her fingers, "I know there's Thangarains, Martians, Kryptonians, Atlanteans are technically human but they have gills..."

"Fascinating. So mainly aliens?"

"Well that's what I know from home," counter Artemis, "You gets some robots too. Red Tornado's pretty cool."

Also the most hands off of all the watchers the Justice League saddled them with.

Justice League sounds like something from a comic book,

"Oh, do they all work together?"

Hush you, Professor X.

"Why would they? It's not like humans do."

Dark hair: 'In this family it's every girl for themselves. Haven't you learned that?'

"True, but it would be nice if they did."

"Sorry, going to have to work at it the hard way," says Artemis, "No advanced alien civilizations to swoop down and hand out peace and understanding that I've heard of."

"Or even just people but minds can change over time. So I'm not going to give up hope just yet."

"Hopes good. I like it."

"Where are you coming in from?"

[balancingminds]

"Oxford, England in a place that I don't believe as any aliens or complex robots."

"Probably depends on the year for that," says Artemis, "The Justice Society probably had some over there once in a while."

And robot members, even if they looked human.

"Justice Society, I'm afraid I don't know that name."

[thenewblack]

"OK. What year are you from? 'Cause it's 2010 for me so I might need to fill in some history."

"1962 and you probably do. Is Captain America involved in this somehow?"

[thenewblack]

"I haven't heard of him," says Artemis, "No, the Justice Society was a group of heroes in the 40s and 50s. You should of heard of them anywhere on Earth."

[balancingminds]

"No, I don't think I ever have. I remember newsreels of Captain America from during the war."

[thenewblack]

"...Crap. Probably different timelines."

[balancingminds]

"That sounds complex. Are they common in your experience?"

[thenewblack]

"Not really, but you hear about them. They make the news."

Not that the narration has anything that would have happened worldwide at this point to use as illustration handy, but still. It isn't like there isn't a Batman ^TM plan for it somewhere.

"Really, I think I'd remember that,"

After all he's constantly searching for mutants.

"Well they make the news at home," corrects Artemis, "Which I am now pretty sure isn't yours. At all."

"No, it doesn't sound like it is."

[thenewblack]

"Maybe you'll get your enlightened alien society then."

[balancingminds]

"Perhaps, I'd be happy with an enlightened human society.'

[thenewblack]

"Worth a shot either way."
