Daily Entertainment.

Today is what I'm going to lovingly call Ragequit Day.

What would you like to ragequit? I would like to ragequit my fucking office with its customers who cannot follow instructions and expect me to do shit for them that is completely fucking unreasonable and I will smite them, precious. RAGE. Grr.

I need a gif of a kitten ferociously batting someone about the face. Just saying.

MY JOB! It's ruining my health, worrying at the edges of my sanity; I have racist, sexist co-workers that bite and niggle and mock each other, work politics that keeps tangling me up, and my manager actually flounced out the other day (he turned up the next day, but he had EPIC FLOUNCING). Just. Argh.

I would also like to ragequit my stupid, breaking-down body: the arches of both feet are collapsing, causing massive amounts of pain and messing up my already messed up ankles and knees, and the bones of my right foot feel bruised and sore. I also have OTHER ANNOYING PAINFUL THINGS that I don't know the cause of yet, but I've been sick and in pain for months (hurry up, doctor's appointment, hurry up). And then my body decides to go and bring down shark week on me? RAGEQUIT BODY, SERIOUSLY. UGH.

Also I'm sorry your work sucks D:

D: I need to get out of retail so fast. Give me an office job! I WILL BE ABLE TO SIT DOWN AND NOT FUCK UP MY FEET ANY MORE. PLEASE.

(I would go with that! You can totally be happy that you don't have to deal with them any more, because that is more dealing with the negative-ness caused by person and getting it out of your life, rather than the person themselves. I think?)

Been at current job for over five years. *wry* I think my body is finally going 'okay, now you need to leave.' I could totally be a kickass secretary, though! I can deal with lunchtime rushes in a freaking mall foodcourt, I can deal with anything.

My job, and I'm going to do it, too, as soon as I find a new one. That toxic stressed atmosphere there has contributed majorly to my health breakdown in autumn. If I never see Madame Main-Stressor again, it will be too soon.

That said, what I really need to quit is my rage. My constant, low-level, simmering rage at the circumstances and people around me. That's especially not-good for my health. Actually, while I am finding a new job, I'm also working on transforming the old one into a place that doesn't faze me, where I do my thing while everybody rages and panics around me, and where I like all the people, no matter if they like to spread stress around, or flail about like a washing machine with a pavement stone in the spin cycle.

When I have a new job, I might rage-quit my current one, leaving as much scorched earth as I can legally manage. On the other hand, for the sake of my serenity, I might bring brownies and nemesis on my last day, tearfully hug all those colleagues towards whom that is appropriate, and say good-bye with a little email of how much I will miss everyone, but after twelve years in one company one does want something else, and also, more money is nice...

I don't know which it will be, yet.

Um, my current problem with burn-out?

I feel like I have all the endurance of a three-legged cheetah as of late. Not good for RPing [or anything] despite really wanting to.

I could complain about my job, but I still like it. Even with having to do so much overtime this week.

Not really feeling the rage today. No time for it, I suppose.

I'm calling shenanigans on the folks who are attempting to profit from the hellacious tornado damage in eastern Kentucky.

Props to the governor; this weekend, he signed an executive order to enforce Kentucky's price-gouging laws across the state.

But.

RAGEQUITTING THE PROFITEERS.

On the other: GRR ARGH CRYS!SMASH.

GAH! What the hell, people? I know that in many cases the people coming in to help with the damage aren't from the area affected, and aren't known... but gas station owners gouging? WTF. Do they not think people will remember afterwards?
sardonicynic: actor | nathan fillion (I eated your cookie)

[personal profile] sardonicynic 2012-03-06 03:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Yep.

Some reports said one station was charging upwards of $5 per gallon.

I am making all the faces, Saph.

All of them except the happy ones! I'm leaning towards the wrathful ones. DO NOT APPROVE, STATION OWNERS.

We were lucky in my hometown. Downtown took a direct hit by an F4 in 1997. All the gas stations around town (and in the next town over) made an agreement to lower gas prices for the following week, before going back to normal.

... WTF? I'm calling utter and complete horrible BS on that. You'd think people would *drop* prices in the event of natural disaster, wouldn't you? ... Maybe I'm too Midwestern nice for my own good.

Gov. Beshear is putting the screws to the profiteers, which gives me some measure of comfort -- but I just hate knowing that it's impossible to call out every guilty party.

I'd love to ragequit my commute. I'm mostly okay with my job but I'm spending close to two hours in my car driving which is putting something like 90 miles a day on my car and costing close to $70 a week in gas. I'd love to take public transit but that'd be 3 hours each way if I made each connection on time; two buses to get to BART and then another bus or shuttle to work. I so wish I worked on the Peninsula so I could take Caltrains.

Well dang it, I know I remember seeing a kitten going completely psycho on a pug but I can't find it now.

As conciliation prizes how about:
An elephant schooling an obnoxious tourist, an attack cat, a bunch of kittens attacking a sleepy dog, a cat vs a snake, a cat getting too friendly with a rabbit, a cat asking what the five fingers said to the face or slow loris cuteness? All links lead to animated gifs of the safe for work variety.

I ragequit the wiki a few days ago, since some group of unsavory characters wrote up programs that make it extremely easy for amature advertisers to seek out and spam unmonitored wikis. AND THERE ARE TONS OF WIKIS OUT THERE THAT ARE ABANDONED. I think it's probalbly because wikis are so easy to set up. Sadly if you improve the accessibility of mass media, you open up more avenues for advertising.

But, I am not feeling that bad about it anymore. :D

I don't want to ragequit my job. It's not ideal, but it's a job. (If I need to ragequit something, it's my lack of job-hunting wossname.)
I do, however, want to ragequit my boss. He's not a bad guy as such, but - dude, if I went on vacation and hadn't posted the schedule for the week after said vacation yet, I would have done that first thing Sunday morning as opposed to God knows when we'll get it. And when he is there, he has a tendency to hide in his office and not be helpful to the function of the store. Basically the way he handles things drives us all nuts.

I don't know actually. I like my current part-time job but I would love to have a full time one. Job looking is just hard.

If I could skip the looking and just have a job I'd be so much happier.

In with pup journal, oopsie. :P

I'd like to ragequit the Wisconsin GOP - the Republican party over here. Ugh! Their utter lack of dialogue with anyone who doesn't entirely agree, their myriad attempts to force through legislation gutting everything from public school funding to environmental regulation, the asshat in their ranks who introduced a bill listing single parenting as a contributing factor to child abuse and neglect (WTF WTF WTF?!), their attempts to get people taking photographs of legislative proceedings, silently holding copies of the Wisconsin Constitution, or in one case simply holding a cross hauled out of the gallery and arrested... so much fury. Flames on the side of my face, I tell you!

*Whew*. I could go on, believe me. Think I'll stop myself before inflicting that on all of you, though.

Yowch! Well, if it helps, one member of the Wisconsin GOP just successfully held a moderate line and helped vote down a disasterous mining bill. 16 in favor, 17 against. :D

Totally unrelated... I didn't know you were near here! :D

I think I would tiny!ragequit my inability to walk properly without twisting my ankle. Twisted my left ankle last night while walking to the train station after my seminar and it hurts like a bitch. Terribly inconvenient. :(

On the other hand, seeing as I usually do this to my right ankle and that's the one that's had the most damage... at least it wasn't my right ankle,

I would like to ragequit my 7th period media studies class. Or at least most of the students in it. Is it that hard, when you have a class that mostly consists of being able to watch television, to actually pay some attention to the class? Really?
