Welcome to the second Milliways Plotting meme! What's a Plotting Meme? It's a place to gather new plots for characters you're stalled pn, characters new to bar, or pups you're dying to find rivals, friends, or romantic partners for! It's also a place to toss out ideas for larger plots. Looking to run a season-specific event or mini-plot? Ask here!

Here's how to particpate:

1: Copy and paste the information in one of the text boxes below into a comment; the bottom one if you're looking for a plot for your character or the top if you have a large, bar-wide plot you'd love to get other characters involved in.

For Individual Characters:

2: Give us your character's name, journal address, and a brief description of who they are and what they do - no more than a brief paragraph that summarizes this and their current bar plot.

3: Then tell us what kind of relationship you're looking to cultivate: romance, rivalry, a business partner, etc. Do this for each pup you'd like plot for.

4: After posting your comment, scan the post, see if anyone else's offer cataches your eye, and comment to them! If you've threadded with someone before and want to build on the interaction you've had, tell them so! Details can be worked out in private or they can be worked out on the meme, whichever you prefer.

Plot With Rocks In: Coming to a bar near you!

Plot Idea: Plot With Rocks In: Quasi-sentient, contagious, near-fatal (only near-fatal because it'll get chased out before anyone dies) rock and roll, brought to you by the Disc. For an example, check out the plot tag from last time.
where it's taking place: In the bar! I'm thinking mid-April or so, at the moment, and it'll run for about two weeks, as last time.
Characters Involved: not_elvish is serving as your friendly neighborhood Patient Zero (I need to get him in some more); Claudia Donovan's going to get the bug hard.
I Am Looking For:
Anyone who wants to jump in on either side, particularly if they can help stop the madness or otherwise recognise it's a problem. Still grokking how to do that without pulling a literal deus ex machina, as Apollo is not going to like the stuff. Ideas welcome!

Teja with his canonical harp and milli-canonical guitar totally needs to play a part in this! He's suspicious and often assumes the worst, but he's also very susceptible to 'new music from the future', so he might catch the bug hard at first, then realise at some stage and start to try and battle it.

Tavi, on the other hand, has exactly no musicality or poetry in his soul, and has something against things like this. So I can volunteer once for either side! (Hurrah, balance)

I can definitely see Leo getting infected by this, giving that he almost certainly has musical inclinations.

As for helping out on the other side - I can offer Teddy? He has about as much musical inclination and interest as a really uninterested thing. He might even emote! (He won't.)

Information: Outside of me taking advantage of Milliways time bending, Ben is hip deep in Nazis, primordial Norse deities and their minions attacking the world, in this case specifically New York. He's just been "cured" of being one of the aforementioned minions. Now he is free to get revenge except he has two kids to get to safety first and then there's all the civilians and then a hospital. Basically, he's not going to get his satisfaction but he is going to save a lot of people which is more important right?

I Am Looking For: Pups who want to smash giant Nazi robots? Or maybe technical folks who want to help resort power and infrastructure to a hospital? This thread is over due so if no one is interested I'll likely just write it up next week. I could also use a Franklin (and I know there's one out there).

I Am Looking For: Anything, really. Kirby's pretty friendly so he'll get along with anyone.Although I would like to see him involved in some sort of action plot, or action in general--after all, what's the fun of playing Kirby if he can't fight? (in b4 pinball!kirby / air riding!kirby / etc)

Information: Antinoos is a late-classical Greek, quite educated, and perhaps a little bit too sure of himself. He needs to see some things to make his mind boggle more. His general indcredulity about Milliways will be cured by it turning up in a different place when I EP him next, but he can use some more unsettling.

I Am Looking For: Anybody who can take him to their world for a visit and/or provide him with really outrageous and (for him) anachronistic things or ideas. See the Dalek thing that happened with Zed's meta-Sherlock in MM for scale. Also, eventually, somebody to history-puncture him. I have been throwing ideas around with the Hadrian mun I have for OOMs, but for that to be set into motion, somebody has to tell him in Milliways about when and how he died, and what happened afterwards. Would not be very hard for an educated pup, as his death and Hadrian's reaction to that is basically everything we know about Antinoos, historically.

Information: Ex-spy avoiding dealing with life in Miami (you know, with the whole crazy ex, hypochondriac mother and people trying to kill him every time he turns around twice). Currently in season 1 canon minus the Fiona romantic subplot, for those following along.

I Am Looking For: Distraction! A job that needs a super spy's touch, a drinking buddy, a pseudo-romance (he's broken, chances are... it won't work out) - anything to keep him busy.

Information: Thirty-five, pharmaceuticals rep/co-owner of Psych psychic detective agency/private detective. Gus is going through a bit of a rough time right now, since Shawn and Juliet got together he feels like he's pretty much lost his best friend and closest companion. He's also (quietly) jealous that they've got each other, making him the lonely third wheel to their 'true love'.

I Am Looking For: Dates! Good, bad, horrible... would love to play out some awkward (they will be, he's the walking embodiment of awkward) dates that can go as good or bad as you please. He's straight, but mun wouldn't object to an even more awkward set up with a guy.

I Am Looking For: Potential victims and/or agents of karma! Cavilo would enjoy meeting interesting (read: wealthy and/or powerful) people and taking shameless advantage of them. I would enjoy having one or more of her exploits, past or future, come back and bite her in the ass. Any takers?

Information: She's a Russian Other - in her canon there's humans, and then there's those that were born human, but with an innate ability to tap into the light and dark side of humanity - and once they do, they are not human. They are Other, and either of the Light, or of the Dark. Which have precious little to do with Good and Bad. She's a Light Other, and a battle mage known for both an incrediblec capacity for violence and the ability to charm the pants off of most people when she puts her mind to it.
I Am Looking For: Drinking partner (prereq: Well-functioning liver), trouble to get into. She's an active gal, and doesn't know how to sit still very well. The challenge will be getting her to admit she's not a baseline human if you can't tell right off the bat. She's been trained not to let the humans know there's something besides what they can see out there.

Information: He was a lord in Glondolin, loyal to his king to the point of dying to ensure the safety of the king's daughter and grandson. He was so stubborn about his need to protect the king's line that he was sent back (probably after the Vala all got tired of his repeated escape attempts) to carry on the job, with first Elrond, and then Elrond's sons.
I Am Looking For: Sparring partners, someone(s) he'd feel comfortable bringing to Arda for Troll/orc/warg/etc hunting jaunts, maybe even some plottage in Arda itself (hey LotR muns! How about some actual canon plottage! Glor's been back and forth in his timeline, I have no problems moving him again)

Information: Merrick has been wandering the world for ten years now. He used to be a warrior of Animaria and a Power Ranger, but Princess Shayla, when she went back into the sky, took his ability to morph with her. Now he's discovered the Bar and he's getting the idea that he can actually talk about at least a part of his past.

I Am Looking For:

I'm looking for reasons to plumb into Merrick's backstory. There are some Animarian artifacts and other such things still in the rainforest in South America that could become useful. He's also a trained warrior and will gladly fight on the side of what's good for nature - so if anyone has use for a fighter who is really good at ignoring internal injuries, he's your guy.

I am also open to an eventual romance. I really don't care if it's slash or het as long as it develops sensibly. (Merrick is shown to be in love with the Princess in canon, but he also doesn't tell Cole to stop staring at him.)

I have plots planned in the near-ish future, and Leo will have use for trained warriors, and he and Merrick have already met and seem to get along. He'll also likely be interested in Animarian artifacts, although his first question will always be "How could we weaponise this?"

Information: Will's in Sherwood in general Nottingham plots and problems. I've found this is a great world for other people to visit and I would like to try and actual create some Sherwood plots at some point.

I Am Looking For: Will has been quieter of late for me and I want to do more with him. I would love to see about getting someone in his life again as one reason he's been quiet was he was pretty heartbroken from breaking up with Kate Bishop. I'd also really like to getting him out and fighting and visiting other worlds as he did a lot of that when I began playing him but my other pups have been louder. I want to get him involved again and would love to see what happens.

I Am Looking For: I want to do more with him and am open to any suggestions though the only warning is not any type of adult stuff. Tumnus is very much of his canon and if I try to have him deal with sexual stuff, he dries up in my head.

I Am Looking For: I consider him a sort of guest star of my voices and he's not good for long drawn out threads but he's fun. If you have a need of a random singing pirate he's your guy. So I'd love suggestions of place where he just appear and be glorious.

information: Sharp-eyed, unflappable outlaw with wit and charm in spades. Quick on the draw and quick with the quips, Ben is as good-natured as a sociopath can get.

I am looking for: Anything and everything, really: conversation, drinking, conversation and drinking, target practice, heists, shenanigans, and so on! For me, Ben's just a barrel of fun to play -- even when he's out of his depth, he's not to be underestimated.

Gina is known in the publishing world; she edits Richard Castle, literary rock star of the mystery genre. Although just because she's a publishing powerhouse doesn't mean she's all work and no play. She has a wicked sense of humor, a closet full of haute couture, and charm and social grace to spare.

I am looking for: Oh my goodness. ALL THE THINGS. Friends! Fun! A gamut of stuff and things! Because, I say, as I hang my head in writerly shame, I have not given Gina nearly enough attention.

information: PTSD-ridden financial executive from Los Angeles; currently spending most of her time in Wheelsy, South Carolina, with a certain small-town sheriff. For the last year and change, she's been putting the real world on hold and focusing on said sheriff, in lieu of owning up to/facing her own issues. (Suppression? What suppression?) Kate is generally soft-spoken, and can be reserved, but as you get to know her, you'll find she's also incredibly warm and engaging. She also has intense loyalty and a deep protective streak for the people she cares about.

I am looking for: A girl can never have too many friends! Kate has been spending most of her time out of the bar, in South Carolina -- which is most definitely my fault -- but if Bill's house has become a second home, Milliways is a third. (And, hey, come tax season? Kate can crunch numbers with the best and brightest. If she likes you, she'll even do yours for free.)

information: Whip-smart governess with a penchant for detective novels and doctors who answer to "John Watson." Mary is the personification of grace; she is a lady, through and through, but dare disgrace the memory of her deceased fiancé, and you'll find she has quite a razored tongue, to boot. This English rose can hold her own against Sherlock Holmes and leave him with a wine-soaked face.

I am looking for: Loads of interaction with the bar at large! Everything, really! (This appears to be recurring theme.) Because I have also neglected Mary for far too long. (Also a recurring theme!)

information: Some might call the lord of Winterfell a grim man. They would not be entirely wrong. Ned is solemn and reserved, but he is no without a sense of humor. He carries a great deal of responsibility on his world-weary shoulders, and he cares deeply for his family, his friends, and his king.

I am looking for: Ahaha, every interaction ever. I'm stoked to jump-start Ned's story; I'm looking so forward to playing with ASoIaF canonmates and the bar at large.

I am looking for: As with most of mine, anything and everything, really! Be it conversation, drinking, conversation and drinking, target practice/shooting instruction, some form of back-up (on the legal side or the more gray-shaded one), shenanigans, or or or to infinity.

I Am Looking For: Any pup who would like to play a hand of poker with him. Depending on how well it works out, I may make it a semi-regular thing.


Plot Idea: Blazing Saddles ending
Where it's taking place: Inside the movie
Characters Involved: waco_jim, obviously.
I Am Looking For: Anybody who would like to participate in the climactic fourth wall-breaking fight that ends Jim's canon.

It would start with the construction of the fake Rock Ridge town set, as Mel Brooks needs cheap non-union labor in order to get this movie in on time and under budget. Then it would move on to the climactic fight itself. In all honesty, you'll probably be edited out of the movie since you don't have SAG cards. Still, it'd be fun, wouldn't it?

I'd like to do it sometime after this semester ends - so maybe in May or June.

I Am Looking For: Folks of all shapes, sizes, creeds and codes to sign up to date Gus! Dates can be threaded out in OOMs or in Bar proper!

Character: Amanda Hayes

Information: Amanda is a sort of alternate version of how canon went. She could be a clueless character written by people who did no research, or she could be a sharp but undertrained and in-over-her-head morally gray character. Canon supports both!

Both her canons make no sense and have flawed plotting (people who we have never seen before double-cross people in sudden revelations with usually zero impact on the plot) and there's all sorts of plot holes.

I Am Looking For:
This depends. There needs to be a Destroy All the Things Team because there's giant regenerating super-snakes around, but there can also be a Find All the Teams for hidden research, or a search-and-rescue team to get some hapless minor characters out of the area, or a data-destroying team to make sure that's the end of that. I should be able to fit anyone in there.

(This plot may also be followed up with a plot to get Amanda out of jail.)
