What's your pup's favorite food? Can they prepare it themselves, or do they have to have someone else do the cooking or other prep work for them?

Claudia's go-to comfort food is spaghetti - her mom's recipe, which is not so secretly my mom's recipe, which includes a lot more meat and veg in the sauce than your usual spaghetti. She probably could pull it off by herself now, but the first time she tried she was nine and it ended in disaster; she didn't try again until her birthday last year, at the Warehouse, with Leena around to help.

Imp likes dwarf bread, but you have to get it properly soaked before it's soft enough to eat (even then, 'soft' is relative).

Regulus... prefers things Kreacher didn't have a hand in cooking. XD

Red likes a good rabbit stew; Ruby, on the other hand, has a certain fondness for Thai food (which is bloody hard to find in Storybrooke).

Katya believes that pelmeni is good comfort food, but the best thing after a long patrol is Chinese. This totally absolutely definitely has nothing to do with the fact that's usually all that's open at that hour of the night/morning.

Really.

Glorfindel has a fondness for berry tarts.

Balthazar is going to have to go with cinnamon rolls. Though really, the boy will eat anything put in front of him.

Ace, in whatever incarnation, is never to be allowed in the kitchen ever, and tends to trend towards simple, easily-recognizable fare. Sorry Professor, you didn't make her a gourmand.

Haymitch........ idk if there's a food. Booze, yes, but food's become a bit secondary, at this point.

Bones is all about the Southern cooking, though if it's beans you're after, he'd better be the one making them. He knows the best recipe.

The other two just aren't saying. La?

Dot's favorite food used to be C-loin Tips in sauce with mashed Tubes. These days, though, it's a hard tie between digitized garden fresh salads and the spellworked sushi from Susie Sells Seafood By the Seashore in Seashells.

Tyler has been spending so much time in New York with Ray that he's developed a taste for anything served fresh and hot from a vending cart, mostly hot dogs. But if there's flautas involved don't be surprised if he's spending some of the money he's earned rat-hunting on that.

Mother has no favorite food. He's sort of a human mad science garbage disposal that way.

Ben loves Dagwood sandwiches and New York hotdogs. His cooking skills are legendary and fantastic. Nights when he cooks are not to be interrupted.

Val loves pizza and while she understands the chemistry of cooking, she's not so good with the art.

Thalia loves cheese burgers and you do not want to trust her in a kitchen unless it's to kill a monster. Camp fires on the other hand, she is wicked clever with.

Palamedes does not cook. He misses the food of his homeland dearly but seeing as how he's in England...well it's a good thing wanting builds character right?

No one else is speaking up at the moment.

Yrael says, "Fish? Yes please. ^_^" He specifically likes salmon, perch, and halibut, but has no hope of cooking it himself.

Sunshine likes keeping things simple. Good, delicious food is what she's about, with nothing artificial or low-quality if she has anything to say about it. Anything with vegetables in season and fresh from the garden is her favorite.

Zelgadiss likes most foods, but he particularly likes seafood, especially when prepared hot pot style with vegetables and mushrooms in a hearty broth, with spicy dipping sauces. The only caveat to his enjoyment of seafood is octopus. Octopus is nasty.

Cocoa is mentioned frequently in canon. However, at least in Millicanon, this is only the drink (and sometimes extracted flavouring agents), and is nothing like as strong as solid chocolate. The sprites love chocolate as a novelty and digitize it a lot. By now, Mainframe's scientists might have succeeded in synthesizing chocolate from Cocoa.

River loves anything involving fresh fruit, a lot of which she can prepare herself because it's... fresh fruit! Or a smoothie or whatever. Often she just gets it from Bar, though. Also several kinds of dumplings, which she could prepare if you handed her the fillings and the wrappers, but couldn't make from scratch very well.

Trowa... I'm not even sure. I know he'll eat just about anything without complaint, and I know some of the stuff he does actively like, but I'm not sure about favorites. Anyway, he can totally cook, but usually he lets Cathy take the lead on that because she enjoys it more. (Even though she's more, er, creative about recipes.)

Regan also loves dumplings! And also enjoys once in a while making them, but it's more of a "buy prepackaged filling and wrappers, feel hands-on and relaxed" kind of thing than any kind of regular cooking. Also, she really loves coconut-based soups. She and Gabriel don't often have the time for homecooked meals, at least not without a cook doing the cooking. She's a decent but not stellar cook, when she does have the chance.

Uzura is a puppet. I'm not sure she even can eat. As a toddler she probably enjoys playing at eating common food, though. Bread + meat, or pizza, or whatever. (Yes, pizza. Oh, Kinkan Town.)

Clare, as a Claymore, barely eats. I think she has a quiet soft spot for that first fruit Teresa gave her (whatever it is -- it looks like a cross between a pineapple and a tuber to me, but I dunno) and that she probably has no idea why she likes a couple of specific dishes her parents served when she was young. She's not much of a cook, mostly because she has no impetus to be.

Thor's cooking abilities are... you know, I'm not sure he's ever even had to do the Asgard equivalent of the microwave burrito. (Although if he ever discovers microwave burritos, he will love them.) Possibly he's learned "stab a thing, burn it over a campfire magical Asgardian heat source for a while," but not necessarily. Generally, other people cook, and delicious food appears, and it's awesome!

(New guy here, adding my two cents)

Like Enzo, Mark's a pretty typical teenager, which means that he'll eat anything not nailed down, although he's telling me that he's not too fond of Brussel sprouts, and while he has a typical American teenager's love for hamburgers of any sort, he's starting to get tired of Burger Mart's style of burger. Given that he works at Burger Mart, it's no wonder he's tired of them. He also likes hot dogs, with mustard.

Carbs. Specifically, fresh bread. Preferably with fruit spread, the natural kind (Rachel doesn't know what 'organic' means, she's from the 90s) with the seeds because "What kind of wuss eats preserves without seeds?" And then, preferably raspberry.

But also, McDonalds hamburgers, french fries. Pizza. I imagine there are a few holiday favorites as well, cooked by grandmothers. But Rachel's mostly lived off fast food - and no, she cannot cook it at all.

She has, technically, cooked for her sisters but I imagine it's more along the lines of PB&J than anything.

Jack: is a single student, living away from home (a long way away from home). He doesn't have enough of a budget to be able to afford to not cook.

As for what he actually likes, well, let's be frank, anything that's not Army Rations, will taste pretty good to someone who was brought up on Army Bases. Although, like most students, I think there's a special place in his heart for spaghetti/pasta, simply because it is so easy to make.

Erik Selvig: Is, as far as we know, single with no dependants. He is also on a university pay-scale. Therefore, he can't afford not to be able to cook.

He can't cook. Or rather, he's crap at it. I think I've millicanoned him actually burning water at one point. The one thing Raph can do is grill things. Meat on sticks over an open fire? It's a good thing that meat on sticks over an open fire is one of his favorite things on earth to eat.

Mia's favorite food, when not indulging in her latest pregnancy craving, is probably this one seafood pasta dish Draco has learned how to make with the fish from Lann. Just mentioning it will turn her from a proper lady into a drooling, eye-rolling mess.

Lucas's favorite food is picked by the player! Every protagonist of the Mother/Earthbound series gets their favorite food filled in by the player. The first default for Lucas, and what I've chosen for him, is omelets. With lots of ketchup.

Hmm hmmm hmmmm.

There's some suggestion in the games that Felix has a particular fondness for lamb, although apparently not in the form of stew. I have, in the past, millicanoned him also craving potato dishes.

For Fluttershy, the fandom would have me say juice boxes, for reasons I have not particularly bothered to try tracking down. (Though I'm pretty sure one of those reasons is "it's adorable".) But I'm not really sure.

I'm also not getting any particular answer from either Kain or Cranky. Though in the latter's case, whatever was prominent at the Grand Galloping Gala he went to would probably be high on the list.
leeshajoy: (Twilight Sparkle - nervous breakdown)

Well, it does make sense for Equestrians to invent juice boxes; the flat sides would make them easier to brace between two hooves than a cylindrical glass of juice.

Realistically, though? It's probably just another part of the schoolgirl fetishization you find among anime fans.

  • Leela - [personal profile] eyeeyecaptain - Leela is all about other people doing the cooking/prep. Even when those people are Bender (that's true dedication to laziness, people). Not sure if she has a favorite, but she's a big fan of all varieties of takeout.
  • Porthos - [personal profile] srspirate - Wine. Yes, it's a food. >_>
  • Grace Augustine - [personal profile] donthidemycigs - Nicotine. No no, just kidding. The majority of what Grace eats on Pandora isn't strictly tasty, so just about anything fresh is going to be on her favorite foods list. She's been known to cook for herself/her team, but she's usually too busy with her work to bother.
  • Renee Walker - [personal profile] whathastobedone - Renee typically skips lunch and has a bad habit of not eating dinner until late, due to her job. So, when she cooks it's usually in the morning, as part of her Me Time regime. She's not half bad at it. Her favorite food is pasta. Italian in general, really.
  • Ray Carling - [personal profile] flickedmethevs - I have this nasty habit of laughing too hard IRL every time I get to Ray's answers, because I always jump to the most embarrassing bits of his canon (NO PUN INTENDED). Sorry, Ray. BUT SERIOUSLY, steak and chips. Because it's a real man's meal, and because it's one of his idol's favorite meals. La la. (Also, you couldn't get Ray in the kitchen unless you ordered him there. Luckily, Chris gets saddled with most of that.)
  • Lily Bell - [personal profile] maidenofthewest - Quail is her favorite meal. As for cooking for herself, no. She never had to before. I imagine it's one of the things she'll have to learn now.
  • Zoë Washburne - [personal profile] someonetocarryyou - Zoë is also a fan of fresh foods, though she does just as well on rations. Zoë doesn't cook, unless it's for her husband, and only then when he's done real good.
  • Regina Mills - [personal profile] happilyneverafter - Terrible first thought is terrible: rare meat. In Storybrooke she cooks, but not in the Enchanted Forest.

    [personal profile] death_gone_mad 2012-05-15 10:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Amascut despite having the body of an omnivore, is very much a carnivore. She thinks fish, bear, beef, crab, horse, camel, chompybird, chicken, oomile bird, terrorbird, turtle, kingworm, octopi, lobster, eel, manta ray, pig, shark, rabbit, frogs, toads, snail, and lizards are yummy, and probably wouldn't pass up the opportunity to nibble at humans, goblins, demons, mermaids, dwarves, elves, vampires, and ramokee if she has the chance.

But I have millicanoned her as adoring something like this fish stew and also a desert from called a Chocolate Bomb, which I think the real world equivalent would be a breadbowl coated on the inside with chocolate, then filled with a heavy cream flavored with bitter chocolate and crushed bay leaf. It looks like it is topped of with semicircular wedges of chocolate in game. Those could be whole bay/equa leaves, though.

Cooking-wise, I think she is a meat on a stick over a campfire/grilling type along with Thor and Raph up there. But she has had millenia to perfect it and hasn't had servants to wait on her during that time, so I suspect she can do wonders with a campfire.

All I know about Evil Chicken is that he likes chicken and humans, and he got something against chocolate. (His one weakness is chocolate, maybe. But he's a bit touched in the head and lies about things.)

Lois cannot cook. At all. Ask Clark about the rum cake incident, or that attempt at breakfast. However, food addictions entail: maple donuts, bear claws, strong black coffee, Martha's cooking, burgers, more alcohol than is good for her.

Tavi isn't terribly particular, especially since the Legions. He does like meat pastries and stew, though. In the Bar he's developed a taste for Copper Isle Red Griffin tea (blame Alanna), and a little bit for chocolate. Eventually he'll have an appreciation of fresh fruits and veggies.

    Extra-special-credit MM-boys:
Jason Lane likes cookies (esp. chocolate chip and snicker-doodles) and milk, stir-fry, burritos, and apple pie. Oh yeah, and anything not cooked by his mom.

    * Clementine loves chocolate. Since she basically grew up as a showgirl eating off of midnight buffet tables, she loves fried foods and bad-for-you sorts of treats, all of them from fast food joints or other such places. And she can make ramen, but not much else.

    * Dixie learned how to cook from the Menonite family she lived with, and also at Los Scados. She's, resultantly, a very highly trained chef. Yet it's not something she enjoys doing, and often she lives off of room service. Folks in brisco-verse never seem to indulge happily in food for a long period of time, but she loves champagne.

    * Juliet loves coffee, and I'd judge from canon that she's an average chef; she can make a stir-fry but wouldn't be able to differentiate radicchio from iceberg lettuce.

    * Pinkie: CAKE. CAKE. DID I MENTION CAKE?! And she works at Sugarcube Corner, a bakery-slash-dessertotorium, which makes EVERYTHING under the sun. Pinkie just likes sweets in general.
