New character intros ahoy!
Hi, everyone! This is Cam, with a new character I picked up this month. Her name is Thalestris, and she's from a novel called The King Must Die, by Mary Renault. It's a historical version of the story of Theseus and the Minotaur that takes place around 1250 or so BCE, with a lot of the familiar elements of Greek myth cast as historic people or events, some of which are cast out of the order we know. (For instance, Agamemnon is depicted as the first High King of Mykenai, long dead by the time Theseus rolls around- and the Trojan War doesn't happen until well after the events of the novel's sequel, The Bull From The Sea.) The gods are treated as a matter of religion in the books, but even when someone claims to be a god's son there's no real indication of their presence that doesn't also have a logical, physical explanation, at least not to the modern reader.
Thalestris herself isn't Greek; she's a Sauromantian, from somewhere in what's modern-day southern Russia. Her people are close kin to the Amazons of the time, though, and worship several of the Greek deities, albeit under different names. She may or may not recognize various names. It's a geography thing, mostly. Fair warning.
Oh, and she's about fourteen or fifteen years old, and the reason she's in the novel at all is because King Minos exacts tribute from everybody, except the Egyptians, and her family happened to be in a town where the Cretans were collecting tribute on exactly the wrong day. She's really not thrilled with that.
Anyway, thought it might be a good idea to introduce her- and if anyone else wants to introduce a new character here and give people an idea what to expect from theirs, go for it!

Clash of cultures here- should be interesting.

Great idea!
If you're from a canon with a Beast Boy, feel free to recognize him. I just ask that you not canon punch since I don't know if comics of super heroes exist in his world but even if they did, his team is supposed to be secret.

Also did you hear a Teen Titan Go! series has been announced?

This is Hank McCoy from the X-Men First Class movie. I am waiting on bringing him in until he meets Charles, Erik and Raven. Once that's done, he'll be coming in while human looking and working for the CIA. Feel free to recognize him and confuse him if your world has a Beast but please keep quiet on the future furry-ness. I plan on Hank knowing about the Many Worlds theories so if it slips that's okay, he'll just pass it off as an alternate world thing. Still I would prefer not to have to do that.
Also, since this is a movie (and movies must be serious right?) there is no mention of Marvel comics (plus mutants are secret for now anyway) so please don't canon punch.

We had a Hank McCoy once before, and I've missed him, so yay!
(Guppy is well behaved and will keep his mouth shut)

This is The Huntsman, of Snow White & The Huntsman fame. (Technically, Eric The Huntsman, but he's not named in the theatrical release, so...yes.) He's coming in pre-movie, so he's mostly full of beer and swagger and likely to get himself into trouble. He's from undetermined-fairytale-land, and will likely talk very generally about 'the castle', 'the queen' 'the village' and 'the forest'. Which means that if your character looks generic and mentions the above vaguely (as opposed to naming names) he'll likely assume that they're from the same land.
Those who know Thor, feel free to remark on the similarity. Because I'm always amused by dopplegangers.

They can bitch about The Queen over beer. It'll be glorious.

For doppleganger purposes, I'm totally fine with them looking disconcertingly similar. But I'd vote they don't look exactly alike -- I mean, even with the same underlying facial structure, the Huntsman has had a pretty hard-knock life, whereas Thor is an alien demigod prince with superhuman healing and resilience. And Chris Hemsworth keeps their facial expressions pretty different, I think, except when yelling and charging opponents while swinging a heavy weapon. *grin* But a certain similarity is totally fine by me!

But yes, facial expressions and hair colour alone make them look very different. Except for the 'swing-heavy-weapon-round-head-and-run-full-tilt-at-enemy' mode.

Anyway, sounds like a plan!

*thumbs up* and if all else fails, they can drink, and fight
and make their ancestors proud.no subject
Maybe he just has this surrounding buffer of wind from Mjolnir that means the gore doesn't actually touch him? It bolsters the attack and it keeps him looking pretty!
Also, oh man, yes. This must happen sometime. I promise that if Thor dumps the Huntsman in a horse-trough, it will only be in the friendliest of manners!

...that, oddly, makes sense. Like a sonic boom of awesome.
Bwahaha awww, he wouldn't take it personally. For long.

A mewling quim, no less.

This is Gwaine. He's a bit of a flirt. Merlin's his only friend (or will be, as they haven't met just yet).
The end!

(I fear most threads will be the same though: A drunk Gwaine gets his flirt on, does something silly, and then passes out.)

...But it's so FUN.

He'll be using a cane for a little while, thanks to a torn ACL. He usually has his gun and badge on him.

I KNOW RIGHTI can't wait for him to meet Tommy. Between the two of them, they'll suck all the air right out of the room. The talking will never stop.

Bronn is a commoner mercenary from the "A Song of Ice and Fire" novels, though I'll be playing him heavily influenced by the TV series, since they gave him more (and even better) scenes. He's dangerous, discrete, and smarter than he seems at first sight. He's not a good man, but he not as bad as most evil men either.
He comes in pre-canon, right before he got to the Crossroads Inn.

She's a teacher in her mid-to-late twenties, she just broke up with her boyfriend of six-ish years when she caught him cheating on her with a girl called Rochelle. Who's a mermaid. (No, she's not really a mermaid.)
She now lives with three guys in an apartment on the fourth floor: Nick, Winston and Schmidt. They're a fun bunch! They also get into a lot of shenanigans.
Her best friend is a model named Cece who is sassy and amazing and would probably flip out if she ever came into the Bar. And then get her drink on after.
She's still getting used to the whole bar scene, and one of the big things I do have to worry with her about is canon-puncturing! She makes a lot of cultural references in the show, some of which might feature a pup in-bar. I'm pretty meticulous about making sure to speak to the mun before anything happens! But if you're reading this and have issues right off the bat, let me know!
I have a post on Jess' journal open for all these things too, if you want to take the dialogue there.

Although it depends on how specific she'd get with her references, if she's the sort to make Zelda references.

And I'm going to handwave majorly that she's been given the whole spiel about canon-puncturing by someone in the Bar.
So hopefully her thoughts will remain in her head.
:)
