Steph begged someone take DE on Twitter so here goes...

As I prepare to bring in another pup I am reminded of first EPs and how much fun they can be. I especially loved Ben Grimm's first EP in which he had "Material Girl" painted across his chest (by Johnny naturally) as he walked in wearing nothing but shorts. What are some of your favorite first EPs? Your own or others?

I am failing at remembering much of anything right now, but I did have great fun writing Lois' first EP.

First EPs are a ridic amount of fun; it has been a hot one since I've done so. The three that I've done have been fairly low-key -- no explosions or shoot-outs or insanities were happening on the heels of Kate Warner, Ben Wade, or Raylan Givens. And while I enjoyed the hell out of all three of those first-entrance posts, I have the most nostalgia for Kate Warner's. (Probably a combination of ahhh, my first pup! and ahhh, oh my god, I am such a newbie, what is happening, I am not going to get a single tag because I am a lame-o, ahhh.) I remember being so nervous before throwing her into the bar for the first time, and wound up having a ball and a half with every thread. B'aww, memories.

Um, I am failing like a failing thing at highlighting older EPs I've loved. In more recent memory? All the props in the world to Carly for her Catelyn Stark entrance a few weeks back. Ahhh, my heart.

Ooh, and Starbuck's crash-landing had me rolling as I thread-stalked. All the props, for true.

Half the fun of Claudia's was all the OOMery that laid the groundwork for it - actually poking through her time trying to get Joshua back was a lot of fun, and then there was the payoff of her finding a door to Milliways, of all places, in her new workplace.

Apollo's was a lot of fun too, especially because it wasn't the first time he'd ever been to Milliways - just the first time in a few centuries. It was nice being able to play with that kind of quasi-homecoming.

But my favorite of my recent crop of entrances has to be Red's. It was originally going to be her by herself, and then Amanda brought Snow in and said she wanted to go a bit non-linear with Snow's entrances, and I went 'hey how about they show up together and Snow can be all 'oh no, it's cool, it's just Milliways'?' She was game for it, and the result was a thing of beauty.

Okay I finally found Ben's first entrance and it's even better than I remembered. He's wearing nothing but a towel, no shorts. And ouch my writing back then.

Ron fucking Swanson's, though recent, is one of my favorite firsts.

Although Arthur from Inception was also pretty great. Gun! Suitcase! Fleeing through the rain! BAR.

I'm still proud of Obi-Wan's arrival. I was beginning as I meant to go on. Other first entries I deemed worthy of memorizing back at LJ: Ro-Man, Dolemite, MANUEL, and Hawley Griffin.

I am still rather partial to how I entered Ruby, way back when.

And actually, I still adore how James Sirius Potter came into the bar, too. His first entrance was actually sneaking in behind Teddy during his birthday party. Which he kind of crashed. Heh. (His own first EP was just an EP.)

OH. And oisahdoiasdh. How could I even forget the EPIC Golden Trio EP? Bah. It was Harry and Ron's First Entrance and it was one of the most amazing things I've participated in.

Augh, I am now having all the nostalgic feels.

Favorite self-written EP thus far would definitely have to belong to Juliet, Shawn and Gus falling through the door and into Milliways.
