Daily Entertainment!
I reckon one hasn't been tossed up yet since it's the 4th of July in the US of A, and many folk are off from work.
So on the subject of Independence Day, how does your character feel about their home nation/city/town?

Kirk is from a time after nations, but he is a proud Terran.
And Gibbs, former sailor in the Royal Navy, thinks he's cut all ties to his native England. He's mistaken.

Although I'm sure he'd love
Proto Nebula Hyrulehis new home on the surface because Zelda.no subject
Bilbo loves the Shire. Hobbits don't seem to feel what we'd call patriotism, but their love for the Shire is affectionate, like it's a person present in all their lives.
Dakin is proud to be English, but he was glad to get out of Sheffield.
Merlin loves Albion and Camelot, but it seems to be more about the hope of what Albion will be under Arthur than what it is now.
Jack has seen too many nations come and go to feel loyalty to any particular one. He's tied to the land, no matter what name it has at the moment. (I will add, though, that it's my head canon he was on the front as a medic in WWII. Some things are worth fighting for.)
Peter considers himself deeply patriotic, right down to the little flag pin on his lapel.
Ianto loves Wales a great deal and Cardiff in particular. It's his home. But as a defender of the Earth he tries to think globally.
John is patriotic, as suits a veteran.

Claudia isn't particularly patriotic, but hey, America's a good country to be in, and she loves her job, which she couldn't have had if the US weren't such a powerhouse.
Apollo... well, much as he fusses about his family sometimes, Olympus is home, wherever the heck it currently is.
Imp doesn't think he misses Llamedos, as such, but he's always going to be a country boy at heart.
Regulus is very proud of his heritage, as befits the House of Black, but the Ministry itself... it's broken, to be blunt. It's all they've got, but it's broken.
Red loves the forest. Ruby hates Storybrooke.

Charles loves the US but also England since he knows both places though does consider himself American. My headcanon is he might have two passports, I don't know.
Jane adores England but wouldn't mind living in London some days.
Sameth loves the Old Kingdom, its a love that's grown since he's become Wallmaker and gotten to know it even better.
Moist is glad to not be in Uberwald anymore and doesn't really consider himself enough from anywhere to be patriotic.
William cares a lot about the US and is glad that its still around after the Civil War. As for Arizona, he doesn't feel as closely tied, his tie is far more to the family's land and what it means than this part of the US.
Demeter considers Southern France her land at the moment but she'll always be drawn back to Olympus and Eleusis and Greece, but for her its about the land and its people. Countries come and go, the people remain.
Tumnus loves Narnia a lot and is happy to see it flourishing and helping it grow.
The Pirate King is proud to be English though rather more proud of being a pirate.

(So does the Trickster, but you'll never get him to admit it.)

Kate Kane isn't patriotic, she's religious. Never mistreat an American flag around her. As to Gotham, well she dresses herself in a bat costume to try and make it a better place to live. What does that tell you?
Hank McCoy is patriotic in a very naive and child like way. He loves his country and while there are some people who aren't nice, over all America is the best country in the world. He doesn't have a home town per se but he totally believes in Division X.

I think she would still fight to defend the Kharid, if only because she's one of those "I am the villain this country/empire/khaliphate deserves, you can't have it," type underneath it all.
She did let the God Wars steamroll the subcontinent without doing a thing, though. But so did the rest of her family, save for a token effort after the citizens of Uzer repented from worshiping gods outside the pantheon. Amascut might have recovered from her fall enough by then to help in that fight as well. Uzer was still razed, though.

Right then!
Artemis likes Gotham in a way that means she complains about it and outsiders aren't. It isn't their's after all.
Ako has sort of started taking possession of Earth thanks to Milliways, which makes her slightly dizzy when she thinks about it. And slightly dizzy even if she just limits it to Japan. She tries not to think about either.
Robo like the ideals of the US. The execution could use a little work, yeah, but the outline is solid.
Aaand that's what I've got at the top of my brain for today on pup thoughts.

Fluttershy loves Equestria and Princess Celestia. This is not at all outside the norm, for ponies.

Voodoo totally does not expect the low running tackle in which Tommy drives his shoulder into his gut, or hey, maybe he does.
(Facepalming. Quietly.)
no subject
Which is why he's able to brace himself for the impact. And also why he's able, after a few quick strikes to a few choice pressure points, to get Tommy in a guillotine choke so easily.
"Say it!"
Now the question is which Tommy values more - his consciousness, or his position on NYC's superiority.
no subject
(Sigh.)
no subject
The choke tightens. Tommy might start seeing a whole lot of spots, if he hasn't already. It might also be getting more than a little difficult to breathe.
"Say it!"
no subject
"Grrk. NYC is Southie's bitch."
(...Voodoo might not have heard him.)
no subject
"Bar, tape recorder, please."
One appears, loaded with a cassette. Voodoo presses record and puts it in Tommy's face, easing off the choke juuust a little.
"Now say it again. Louder. Say, 'my name is Thomas Gavin, I am a resident of New York City, and I readily admit under my own free will that New York City is South Boston's bitch every day of the week'. And so help me Christ if you don't enunciate."

Then, with a pat on the head, he lets Tommy go.
"There. That wasn't so hard, was it?"
no subject
he punches Voodoo hard in the balls
and then runs away.
no subject
"AUGH!"
Voodoo doubles over in pain, clutching his family jewels -
- and then, with a growl of unbridled rage, starts chasing Tommy.
"I'LL GET YOU FOR THAT, ASSHOLE!"
(shitshitshit his balls hurt, Gavin packs a mother of a right cross)
"COME BACK HERE AND FACE YOUR DEATH LIKE A MAN!"
no subject
"Not before you eat your mamma's chowdah, ya Southie shitbag!"
Tommy flips Voodoo the bird as he ducks through his door back to his own world and slams it shut.
[ooc: OFFICIALLY THE BEST THREAD WE HAVE EVER DONE. SO FAR.]
no subject
And then slam goes the door and CRUMP goes Voodoo as he crashes into it.
And then he catches his breath, clutches his balls, and - well, if looks could kill, that door would be dead about twenty times over.
And on fire.
For the sake of your balls, Tommy, you better hope you don't see Milliways again for a long, long time.
At least not without some protection.
Because Voodoo will be there.
Watching.
Waiting.
Planning.
As long. As. It. Takes.
And the last thing your balls will ever feel will be his size twelve boots crunching them into oblivion.
[OOC: YES. A THOUSAND TIMES YES. THIS SHIT'S GOING ON THE SHOUTOUTS.]

Why haven't Tommy and Ben met yet? This ought to be rectified some day.

Me: "Not a good ideaaaaa..."
Voodoo: "Shut the fuck up, kid. Yo, Rocky! You 'n me, pal!"

Kid, yer just gonna hurt yerself.
(Me: Ben, play nice. We may want to meet this guy soon.)

Epic. Simply. Epic.

Erik, is not really bothered. If Science was a country, he'd be waving that banner every day. But it's not, so. He still waves the banner of Science everyday.

Tavi: Patriotic is not the word. Proprietary, possibly.

That'd be the man half-curled into a fetal position on the floor. Holding an icepack to his crotch.
(So Gavin played hockey, how the fuck was he supposed to know?)

Gus & Henry both love Santa Barbra and while Gus is a bit more ambivalent about national pride, you can bet your ass Henry's helping out with the city fireworks display.
Michael... isn't really fond of Miami. It's hot, humid, and happens to have his family there. He's also not a staunch nationalist despite spending most of his life as a government employee. He's seen too much of the stuff that goes on behind the scenes to fully support any country - they all have agendas.
Archie likes living in Storybrooke - it's a mostly peaceful town that'd be a whole lot better if the mayor didn't have half of it wrapped around her fingers and the other half under her bootheal.
