Since our weekly Self Indulgence hasn't been posted yet and I wanted to post mine while everyone else is asleep in my house, here it is!



I know this week has been hot for lots of us, with power outages and the like, but I know there is still some awesome out there. Share for yourself or others if you happen to know their power is still out.

Mostly I kept Hank's slowtimes rolling but he did meet Sam Anders to learn about Pyramid and Steve Rogers whom he wants to help but doesn't have any idea how to.

I also brought in Ben to run a Happy Hour wherein he met Artemis Crock, Tommy Gavin and Inara Serra. He came in wearing a Mets jersey as a hook for Tommy truth be told but it caused a bit of debate about which team he really would support. =P

I also brought in Bethany Grimm to play in the gender bent sandboxes and she's met Lady Loki and they're bonding over pranks. o_0

And then Beast Boy met Korra yesterday and got a new animal form. There may be a race in the works for a future thread and I need to start making icons for his different animal shapes.

Ahaha. Well, I think the baseball team thing was only brought up because if further prompted, Tommy would get into a serious debate about the Yankees vs. the Mets (even though I personally can't rattle off stats off the top of my head). Now, if Ben were wearing a NY Rangers hockey jersey, he'd probably love him unconditionally.

And it really is a thing here in NY. I'm a Mets fan, but I hate the Yankees. Even if the Yankees were playing against any other team, even the Red Sox, I would root for the other team, because I have an intrinsic dislike for the Yankees. I can't explain it any more than that. I think as a New Yorker you're just born with that loyalty, even if you're just a casual observer of baseball like myself.

I also purchased & downloaded the vewwy fiwst Legend of Zelda from the 3DS eShop this week. I was raised on the NES but we never got that game. Anywho, I had to throw my "NO WALKTHROUGH" stubbornness right out the window because hi meandering around aimlessly past areas that had goodies but I didn't know they had goodies because they just looked like any other old area!

I managed to keep my promise to myself doing something with both Leslie and Manny before sending in an app for July basically thanks to the mass blackout delay but whatever!

And I also played around with post-canon Asami Sato in mixed_muses and everyone who tagged in was wonderful (and the whole thing gave me some nice insights and epiphany-moments about her) but ahhh especially Korra and Asami went giant-squid diving and it was fantastic.

Yesterday there were tall ships and fireworks (and an hour wait after said firewrks for the shuttle back to the car; whoever organised that didn't, so much). Today there are cookies!

Thread-wise, I decided mid-week to try to get all my boys in, and I was mostly successful; Sam's the only one who hasn't been in since I decided that.

Imp laid the groundwork for another round of Bad Idea Theatre, which will probably go up later tonight, as it's all over (for now, at least) but the triumphant return. (I say for now because, uh, Imp is not nearly as savvy to the signs as Claudia. XD)

Apollo, meanwhile, was totally not bracing himself for a crisis whatever gave you that idea, and Regulus is being not very good at transfiguration.

I haven't done a huge amount RPwise this week with the holiday and then losing power on Thursday and Friday. Life stuff has been busy and I'm slowly getting things done for moving. I'm working on energy to go volunteer for something in town, I'm still feeling tired though I've been sleeping a lot.

Charles and William are in the midst of OOMs that make me smile whenever I get notifs about them.

Will and Babs talked and I love their friendship. She was one of the first people that Will opened up to in Bar.

Badideatheater starts with Imp and Moist, there's an OOM that will go up soon. Imp is far too trusting.

Will met Sam Anders and they got along rather well.

Dem talked with Bill, *hugs him*.

Jane moved forward in canon.

Sam met Pinkie and learned how to limbo and met Rae and talked about fighting the Dead.

Elsegame the one thread that I'm so happy about is Charles met the Joker, it went better than I expected.

I did what felt like a billion (but was really only seven I promise, apologies for the deluge!) posts for my Norse gang so now they're caught up to about where they would've been if I hadn't taken a year off. My favorite's the last installment, though--their best plan is to go back in time and paradox SO HARD that it breaks the entire concept of fate which is kind of central to the Norse world, and between the two of them there is zero voice of reason and it's not like Skaði is any help there either

And! It's not done yet, it's really just a rough framework, but this is totally 100% more freemade_mantis claw than I had this time yesterday so my propmaking weekend was absolutely a success. LIKE A ROCKSTAR

Mainly Tommy and Voodoo got into a couple of ridiculous fights in random DE and pimp threads, which I will not link here because they are ridiculous in their ridiculousness, and now Tommy has somehow agreed to race Korra and Naga? I don't even know. I swear, he's never going to open his big mouth again. The idiot.

Anyway, in case everyone missed it, Tommy failboats on a horse with Kate Barlow. Also, ~feelings~ are involved.

I'm also working on lt_shea62truck's voice again and so far his meeting with Kate (still in progress) is full of adorable and awkward. It's...strange playing Tommy's opposite. But also fun because I get to use big words and proper grammar and don't have to swear in every sentence and have a more rational internal monologue?

It's been a slow week, my brain's still firmly in the 'eated' place and we had sickness hit this week in addition to the godforsaken heat.

Penny threaded with Charles in the testdrive and I'm *fairly* certain that I'll be apping her either tonight or tomorrow.

Michael is slowtimes with William & Jack in one thread and then Emma in Miami. Nudging around with his Next Big Thing because we're finally moving forward in canon and bad things are about to happen.

Gus is also still in slowtimes with Shawn and working on the upcoming date threads. Will be posting a canon OOM relatively soonish for the end the episode "The Tao of Gus" in which he falls madly in creeper lust (Seriously, an actual Gus line: "Your silhouette should be on a mud flap."), joins a cult and ultimately ends up getting his heart broken again. So... yeah, fun episode.

Archie is silent. *head desk* I just can't think of anything with him. :(

Henry finished an OOM with Karen - but it's kind of too porny to post tastefully. SO another one without adult content is in the works.

Gus has really amped up the creeper levels this season. He used to be almost smooth ("You hear about Pluto, that's messed up." - while in a Planetarium) but since Shawn & Juliet got together, dude is falling apart flat out desperate.

Which is fun to play, if I could bring myself as a mun to some of those levels of creep. When we get a little later in the season to "Shawn & the Real Girl" there's even more creepy!Gus... though probably not creepier than the mud flap bit. That's pretty damn creepy.

Went to Amsterdam this weekend - no laptop, so no tagging, either. I went to pretty much every museum I had time to go to, took a tour of the Dutch countryside, had lunch on the Museumplein, and did some other things.

I also had my cell phone stolen at the hostel I was staying at. That place was a real shithole. The beds were lumpy, the reception room smelled of weed and vomit, and I don't think I've seen a greater concentration of genital-centric "street art" than the walls of the rooms. (The ejaculating Eiffel Tower was especially charming).

There was a lot of walking around and getting lost, since every square block of central Amsterdam looks the same - narrow, three-to-four story buildings, centuries old, broken up every four blocks or so by a canal. It's a bit like walking around a snowglobe. Speaking of snow, I also wasted 15 euros going to the Ice Bar on Saturday.

Amsterdam's a fascinating and cultured city. I'm glad I went. I'm also glad to be back in London.
