Hello all, and happy Monday.
Anyone have any good stories from over the weekend? Any fun things from Comic Con come out for your canon or the like?

Also, pimping for those who love it, Amazon's Gold Deal of the Day is the whole Eureka series 63% off.

The mother had quoted Bill Cosby to us earlier in the day: parents don't care about justice. All they want is some peace and quiet! This is very true.
Comic Con produced nothing that grabbed me. DC never makes any really big announcements at this event, and there was no news from the other companies that made me go squee.

Nothing for the others, but I didn't really expect anything at Comic Con. E3, maybe, but that didn't come through this year either.

And I've almost got turn around toe stops & ploughs down.

It was 47 minutes of pure hipster amazingness. I just love these ridiculous people.
Otherwise, the final season of Fringe is making me a bit wary, Once Upon a Time has so far given me stoked emotions about Mulan and AURORAAAAAAAA (one of my favourite Disney Princesses ahhhhhhh) and I am kind of looking forward to seeing Lucy Liu in Elementary. And hope that it doesn't suck.

The cast of Game of Thrones remained FLAW FREE (seriously tho: Emilia Clarke and Rose Leslie are the PRETTIEST and Michelle Fairley and Richard Madden are too cute for words, and HOW does Michelle look SO HOT idek) and there are like five million new people being added to the new season.
It's going to be cray.

As to news, well not really my canon but Iron Man 3 had some pretty pictures of armor (I think the Extremis armor needs to be golden or brass not the dull gold they have), Thor's next movie is named though I have no idea what it means, and there is going to be a Guardians of the Galaxy movie with Groot, Rocket Raccoon and Peter Quill! I really hope Bug is in it as well and they cast Alan Cummings for the roll.

There was also stuff about The Hobbit and Merlin, but mostly CAPTAIN AMERICA 2: THE WINTER SOLDIER.
Is it 2014 yet?

I really have nothing coherent to say about this development.

In hopefully-soon-to-be one of my canons, however, I thought the Korra stuff that came out all looked really cool. And I was gratified that a large amount of my own headcanon for Asami was suddenly not just headcanon anymore. That was pretty sweet.
In terms of stories, I spent this weekend the same way I'm sure I'll spend this week: holed up in my room studying, only going out occasionally for walks when I can't take it anymore, or food. Um. Some guy at the Vietnamese place where I was getting takeout gave me a dragon fruit? It was interesting!

Or maybe it is funny and I'm just too tired to laugh.
I missed the Korra panel and signing AND the Ninja Turtle Panel, but not the Ninja Turtle signing. So I got to talk to the voice actors and there was much squeeing.
Turtles: I'm starting to get kind of excited for the new toon. It looks really silly, but I could totally be down for really silly if the voice acting is there...and it appears to be.
Korra: I line befriended a bunch of cosplayers and got some of the scoop on what's on deck for Korra. Oh yeah, totally going to be Joss'd with Bumi. There's just no doubt about that.
DC Nation: I didn't think I was going to get into this panel, which was then moderated by Kevin Smith. That was exciting. Beware the Batman kind of looks awesome, as does the next season of the GL cartoon. But then...I'm a Guy Gardner girl, and hes on it this time around. Also? I got to see a clip of Hal getting his butt kicked by a squirrel. You can't go wrong with that!

Saturday was quiet though I have a feeling I'm going to be very grumpy during Art Fair.
I've been tired and not sleeping enough, which makes me much more aware of people in my space. The sidewalks are already starting to get crowded and its not even Art Fair yet and I need to do more packing and cleaning and things.

I didn't pay attention to anything out of the SPN panel, except for this and the pictures Richard Speight Jr. took over on Twitter.
In Potential Future Canon Land: all of the Korra info looked pretty neat! And I'm still doing a dance of glee over the fact that we basically get three more seasons of that show. Yessssss.
Oh, and I got to visit an amazing local artisan chocolate shop yesterday, including taking a tour of their ittybitty factory and meeting the head chocolatier. Holy crap. Amazing. *_* I cannot DESCRIBE how good their stuff tasted, omg.

I mean, seriously -- Joss Whedon is a golden god for greeting his Browncoats at 2:30 in the morning.
Entertainment Weekly live-blogged the panel itself, and there's a short, absolutely priceless post-panel interview with Summer Glau, Sean Maher, the Fillion, Alan Tudyk, Adam Baldwin, and Tim Minear at the bottom. Oh, show.

This may be as ill-advised as watching nothing but Fight Club on repeat for 24 hours. But I really kinda don't care anymore.

I was being all informative and educational at the vvarious living history museums we went to as well - only my 3yo never pays attention. So it's hilarious when she retells me (gravely and solemnly) what she just misheard I said. As in -
Her: "Mom, mom? You know something? In the very, very, old, old days, they didn't have any coffee pots."
Me: "Really, honey?"
Her: "Nope. They had to drink from a bucket." *serious nod*

People, talk to your parents about what they want you to do in case they start to lose their memory. Arrange some sort of prearranged catcher-to-pitcher sign language, or maybe brightly coloured semaphore, so they know you're really not kidding, they know you've got their back and aren't just trying to fuck with them. (Because that's what I do all day, sit home and think of ways to fuck with my elderly parents, yep.)
In other words, I spent all weekend watching my twitter feed, and desperately wishing I was at ComicCon being Someone Anyone Who Is Not Me.
