Medical Issues
Hey folks.
First, I want to apologize for my slow and sporadic tagging. See, I am suffering from gallstones, and as such, have been in near-constant pain that varies from 'oh, it's there' to 'argh blurgh groan gack!'. Besides the pain, I have been plagued by nausea, gas and indigestion, and all those things combined leave me in bad condition for tagging in general. Butylscopolamine and paracetamol, the meds my gastrointestinal doctor prescribed, only go so far.
Append to that the fact the Health Department here at work does not consider I'm eligible for medical leave, since in theory, medication should combat the symptoms well enough.
I have a new doc app Monday to discuss options, and two of three likely options mean surgery. Since I am in constant pain, lithotripsy is not really feasible, so I am likely to have to undergo laparoscopic cholecystectomy, which implies a vanishing act lasting 1-3 days if all goes well.
Sincerely, I am scared nearly witless from the possibility of surgery.
Wish me luck?

FWIW, my current job has a large number of people who have lap choles, and most of them go home the same day or the next without too much trouble and don't have problems after, if that's any reassurance.

I love when administrative-type people make decisions like that. Like, c'mere, I'll show you symptoms under control.
*hugs moar*
You rest up and try not to stress. It'll all be fine.

Here's hoping your HR sees sense sooner than later.
