I've wanted to steal this for a weekend DE for a couple weeks now but I could never get up early enough on a Saturday to do it, haha.

What awesome/awful/awfully awesome fanart has your canon inspired? Bonus points if you dare to share your own fanart! Alternately, turn your pup into a doll:

Why am I amused that Gavin is following Voodoo for DE suggestions? Also, there were a few late comers to the Fourth Wall break down yesterday so feel free to revisit. And Fury, Ben tells me he got Damage Control working on the repair job and we should have that wall back up in no time.

I've collected a few things on DeviantArt. Not much, but.

Fallout

Mass Effect (I particularly like 'Too Easy')

Half-Life

Team Fortress 2

I follow a tumblr of awesome Mother/Earthbound stuff that never ceases to tug at my heartstrings.

This is perhaps the one that gets to me the most: Queen Mary's lullaby sung by characters from all three games.

The people who draw fanart in LoM fandom are, in general, really good. Like, really good.

My favourite ever is a cartoon strip someone did that ended in 70s!Gene getting off with 80s!Gene. Completely hilarious! I will link it if I can find it.

This comic book adaptation of Sam's accident and subsequent arrival in 1973 is also freakin' awesome. Even if Sam's face freaks me out a bit.

ETA: Also, I just found this of Gene as an Auror (*shriek* <333), by my fave fandom artist [profile] fern_tree.

I don't actually track down fanart or fic much (if ever). However, I will submit that Smallville Season 11 is entirely fanart. Holding out on if it's awesome or not.
EDIT: Having read today's digital release: Yes. Season 11 is fanart, for so many reasons, and I am not objecting in the least. Proof.

For Alera, however, these four glorious pieces exists.

I can't think of a lot of art specifically for Elle or Leslie, but Grim Fandango and Korra have sure inspired some great art.

ETA: WAIT YES I CAN THINK OF ART FOR ELLE. Everything [personal profile] sleightofhand did! Okay I'll get links...

Okay, she did this amazing comic that has spoilers for season 3 of Heroes, but you know, amazing. It cheered me up a lot at the time. And Elle attacking zombies!!!! And this ALSO REALLY AMAZING art of Elle, X-23, and Rose Toren.

She also had this doodle of Elle I really love, though I can't find the link right at the moment. In conclusion, [personal profile] sleightofhand = best.

There's a lot of everything for Korra, but I'll keep mine to Asami. I love this one, Korra and Asami sparring, Asami as Tony Stark, Rosie-the-Riveter Asami, and not technically fanart because Bryan Konietzko did it, but I also like this painting.

Seriously, Korra fans do some amazing stuff.

As for Grim Fandango, I like this illustration of the cafe in Rubacava. And this one. And both of these of Manny are pretty damn gorgeous.

... and I did that by looking at what I'd reblogged on Tumblr, yep.

I'm not usually big fanart person, but on the occasion, I do come across some gems that I can't help but loving.

Game of Thrones: Stark babies! and these stunning posters of a few Houses with their Words.

Doctor Who: Everything in this fierce artist's Doctor Who folder. (But I initially started fawning over her/his works because of this.)

Harry Potter: Harry Potter meets Tim Burton. So, basically: amazingness.

If I was feeling up to it, I would be there to help repair the fourth wall, but I fear Amascut would be there to help break the wall further.

Anyway, fanart of Amascut ranges from the awful/cute (TRGOG fic is full of such cuteness) to the awful with a mature content warning. You will need a deviantArt account to get past the mature content filter. Oh! Have some awful voice acting!

As for myself, I think I have shared Amascut in the My Little Pony style in crackchat but not here. Heh.

I feel too lazy to look through evil chicken artwork, so, I'll just drop the google images page on you.

I'm sure there's RDR fanart out there somewhere, I just haven't browsed DA long enough to see most of it.

I highly doubt there is any fanart for MoH 2010. There's like, none for CoD4, so I don't think MoH's chances are much better.

...yeah searching for awesome fanart of this one's series would take forever, and some of the most readily accessible databases are full of unsourced fan art so nnnope.

I will say on the not so awesome side that there's just way too many fan arts that get the basic details of this character wrong: they make him several inches taller than Zelda (he's only about one inch taller), and the way they draw his ears... Just... I'm not sure how they got "they're narrow and stick waaaaaaaaaaay the fuck out of his head" from the ears he actually has in canon.

But here's chibi-Avengers and Samuel L. Jackson reading "Go to the fuck to sleep".

I'm awful at keeping track of great fanart, so don't have any links.

Of my fandoms, the ones that I keep finding art for that makes me go ooh are X-Men: First Class, Abhorsen Chronicles, [personal profile] saphyria finds the best fanart in that fandom and shows it to me, and Discworld. Moist is well represented, it helps that his outfit in Going Postal is quite distinctive. I feel like there must be art out there for Narnia but I haven't gone looking.

Becoming Jane inspired some lovely icons and banners but again, I'm not good at tracking things.

For Battlestar, there's the infamous Galactica Simpsons. And the Frakkin' Berry cereal box. Grant Gould has done some good art (scroll for examples), and ratscape @ DA is responsible for some great enlistment posters and parodies (I especially love Tigh Noon and Sam's trading card). But possibly my favorite Battlestar art is the recent Battlestar Galactica Ladies Gallery Collection, which features Kara, Laura, Athena, and Six in different styles.

For Bebop, here are two fan creations I like, and Big Big Truck is responsible for so much great Bebop art that she should be given an award. Included in her gallery is a fantastic sketch of Spike with Beth from Y: The Last Man that she did for me several years ago. Milliways memories!

I assume there's Lost fanart out there somewhere, but I'm not really familiar with it.

But because I couldn't resist, I made a doll? Here's Kara as a Game of Thrones character.

I'm just gonna let you be the repository for all this stuff for BSG and Bebop. I'd forgotten about the Galactica Simpsons, and every single time I see that Spike & Beth it gives me goosebumps.

(Also, Kara looks eerily Cersei-like as a doll.)

I'm not a huge fan of Joan/JFK but the fanart for them is absolutely precious.

Apart from that, this is probably my favorite drawing of Joan. I like this person's fanart too just because she has a unique style.

Fry and Leela's future kids. Pretty much turns me into a squeeing pile of mush every time I see it.

Also, these realistic digital models of Futurama aliens, which I'm really kind of jealous I didn't make.

As for my own fanart, here's a random Shawn and Gus sketch I did a while ago. (I sort of accidentally recreated the Season 2 DVD cover. >.>)

Can't say that "Rescue Me" has generated a lot of fanart, except I could point out this pretty awesome ballpoint pen portrait of Tommy, this cartoon which I can only assume involves a Mary Sue, and some kind of anime-style sketches.

My own crackhead fanart is as follows: How Every Back Room Fight Between Tommy and Voodoo Ends, as represented via MS Paint; Tommy and Lou as a Saturday morning '80s cartoon (seriously, I HAVE NO IDEA WHY THIS HAPPENED).

Oh mann:

Pony fandom has a lot of talented fanartists on its side. and there's lots of interesting Pinkie art out there Just search with safesurf on and avoid the cupcake meme for your own sake.

All of my other pups are rarer over on ye old Devientart. There's two pieces of Clem fanart in total, the piece in my icon and this one. Only in fanart would Clem's zoobs get bigger.

Dixie fanart is slightly less rare but some of it's stunning.

Jules doesn't get a lot of fanart but what exits is lovely
