Honey, I jacked the Weekend DE

11:30 PST and no weekend DE. This will not stand.

HOKAY. SO. Your character either volunteers for or is conscripted into an Ocean 11's-style heist. Who're they going to rob? Do they take on the role of Group Dad (a la Clooney), Group Mom (a la Pitt), Group Kid (a la Damon), Group Goofball (a la Mac), Group Cat Burglar (a la that one surprisingly acrobatic Asian dude), or someone else entirely? What kind of antics would ensue? Would they be successful in the least? DISCUSS.

*knuckles crack* Hello not-quite-canon. How are you?

It's not really a heist, but more like a kidnapping. Of someone in stasis, so it's kind of still like a heist.

As for role, well, given her time in Milliways I'd say Ako could do quite well as Group Assistant. The person who has the extra rope, the spare map, the first aid kit you didn't think you'd need, all that sort of stuff.

Okay for a few of my pups this question is far too apt.

Will is a thief and an outlaw, heists are part of his day to day life. He's closest to group cat burglar in the Merry Men as he was a pickpocket, is quick and clever. Though heists for them usually mean holding up a tax wagon and its rare for them not to succeed.

Moist is a con man, who prefers working alone, its less messy. So none of the roles quite fit him, but his perfect job is one where no one even realizes they've been conned until he's in the next town over. And then they can't provide a useful enough description to track him down.

William doesn't want to be involved with this question as he doesn't like heists at all, he'll be the one chasing. Though in terms of group dynamics, he'd be the group kid and not want to be. That was his role in his canon.

Jane would probably be Group Mom as she likes making certain things are going the way they should. Tom would be the other lead with her brother Henry helping out, Cassandra, her sister would not want to know. It would end up with at least one unexpected fight because Tom and Henry are good at them and one point of Jane telling someone off rather spectacularly. They would get whatever they came to get, but not in the way they expected. This could be a really interesting AU. Thank you for the plot bunny.

Sameth would be the gadget guy, his sister would run everything as she's good at that. Nick would be the other organizer and the heist would end up getting diverted as either Nick or Sam or both got curious about how something works. They would come quite close to being caught but make it out. Another plot bunny, I need to write more Sam and Nick school hijinks.

Demeter would be Group Mom and there are a lot of options of who she could work with. It would all depend on if its with other gods or mortals or Milliways' people, which would be a mix. Either way, it would be exciting and not go as expected.

Charles would be Group Dad as that's his canon role, he makes sure things go well. Erik's his foil who takes everything in unexpected directions. Hank's the gagdet man, Raven's Group Cat Burglar because she'd be really good at it. Later in canon, more would be added since well its the X-Men, they're all about group adventures and I'm not sure what the heist would be but they'd pull it off. This one also gives me ideas.

Tumnus would be the quiet advisor of the Group, which would be the Pevensies, he would provide research and suggestions but not be on the scene.

The Pirate King would be in charge and of course it would be pulled off with music and dancing.

Thank you for all the plot bunnies.

Felix, in canon, was part of a heist. It's never spelled out explicitly, but I think he was supposed to be a seen-(if-necessary)-but-not-heard muscle type, and also something of a guide. And yes, that "supposed to" means something did go wrong. Still, they were mostly successful. They got three of the four Elemental Stars they were after.

Fluttershy... would not be very happy about it. I think she'd end up as the lookout, partly to keep her out of the others' way and partly because they'd think, being so "what's that sound?", that she'd be good at it. (Hint: she wouldn't.) Odds are they'd get caught red-hoofed.

I have no idea for Kain.

Ben, the muscle. He doesn't have the finesse but he is great at distractions. He will draw all the attention while the rest of the team gets the job done. What's the job? Getting Merlin's jewels from Dr. Doom of course.

Kate, the soldier. Trained in urban fighting, she is your second story person. She will break in and can create the diversion if one is needed. The job? Breaking up a human trafficking ring with ties to Intergang.

Val, the gadget gal. She's your safe cracker and gadget maker. She'll reprogram the security and make sure all the equipment is up to the job.

Jessica, the spider. Trained in espionage and assassination by tow of the most covert organizations on her planet, she's your master of disguise if only because she uses so little to gain so much.

Julie, the kid. Need a sweet face to call all the security to one location? She's you gal.

Thalia, the wildcard. No one quite knows when she'll lose it but she's good in a fight and will never betray you.

Hank, the brains. Behind that sweet smile and glasses is a brain built for schemes. He knows the technology and he knows the plays.

Beast Boy, the joker. Another best used for distraction or disguises.

Mars, the boss. He's a god that's why.

oof, I have Amascut in the middle of an OOM were she's being team mom. Begrudgingly, though. Its more of an OMG how did I manage to keep all these people alive through that? thing.

Why won't this damn OOM write itself?

I think she is more comfortable in the cat burglar role. Though if you point it out to her, heavens help you.

Oh dear lord. Now *allllll* the plot bunnies hit the fan. Seriously, anyone want to do a heist with Michael? You make a reason for it to happen and I'm in. *snort*

We'll start with the obvious one...

Michael would be team Dad. Totally. He's the go-to guy for anyone with a competence fetish. In his mind it's his job to make sure everything goes as perfect as possible. He plans, he *is* a spy. A very good spy. While he is capable of taking a support role, he's at his most comfortable planning and then executing missions as team leader.

Gus would be... uh... best left at home? Not entirely useless, though. If he were committed to it, he'd make an ok team Mom. He's good at picking locks, using his superior sense of smell, and practicing basic logic to make sure nobody (except Shawn who doesn't listen) does anything stupid. Unfortunately, he's also nervous and will pretty much let *anyone* else make the decisions.

Archie (I keep forgetting about the poor guy...) would kindly have nothing to do with this sort of thing. If there were some sort of moral validation (he is the conscience after all) and a very good reason behind it, he is skilled with slight of hand and the art of the con from his original FTL life.

Henry... is cop. Erm. In some alternate universe I could see him being pretty good as a brainy group-Dad type. Less hands on than Michael, but he could definitely make a lot of stuff disappear without getting caught if he put his mind and skills to it.

Jack does pull something like that...

Erik, probably needs whatever is being nicked from some high security vault, or else he's providing a little technical knowledge. No idea what the target in the second situation might be.

... Oh, yeah, Jack. Jack pulls something like that, in canon, twice.

He breaks a known terrorist out of Naval Station Guantanamo Bay 'Supermax' prison camp, to get the guy's knowledge about the key plot items.
He also has to break his mentor out of Xintan Hard Labour Penal Facility.

He does seem to break a lot of laws and never suffer any punishment for it...

Clementine would be the fence. But she'd also mess it up quite handily.

Dixie would be Team Mom. She's actually good at getting people together an getting them to work.

Jules is the Enforcer. Have you seen how badass the girl is with a weapon in her hands?

Pinkie totally fails as a heist partner, as canon has abundantly shown us ;)
