RP has been slouchy, but holy crap real life is winning.
I begin moving into my house TOMORROW. Flippin' TOMORROW you guys!
And I bought my plane ticket for my holiday trip. Adding that to my vacation time put in and my accommodations arranged, my holiday plans have moved from hypothetical to definitely going to happen.
I cleaned four, maybe five, garbage bags' worth of old plastic bags, old junk mail, and paper towels that I used on every surface in sight out from under my kitchen prep table.
I still have to wash all the trays and pot lids that were under there but that can wait a bit. the kitchen currently smells like a chemical plant and I had to wash the clothes I was wearing immediately thanks to all the schmutz.
I have not been as awesome as I'd like on the RP front, but I continue to sloooowly but surely make my way through the surprise threadzilla Gaeta's last EP spawned. I LOVE YOU ALL. (I'm also, just as slowly, setting things up for future canon events, but that will not pay off for at least another month and a half.)
RL-wise, I am officially all signed up to try out for the DC Rollergirls next month. Time to kick it up another notch! Ahahahahahaha hold me I have not even managed to pass my Level 2 assessment yet OH WELL *cheerfully throws self from plane sans parachute*
Today I have balanced my check book, paid off all but one of my credit cards, vacuumed my room, installed a new bathrobe hook in my bathroom, put away all of my laundry, cleaned off my dresser, and even made my bed.
Soon I'll finally get off my duff and shower, grab some food, and likely play Lego Harry Potter for the rest of my afternoon until evening stories come on (Breaking Bad and True Blood.)
There will be tag nirvana at some point in there too, so for those still waiting on tags from me...soon precious.
Oh god, this week has been all over for the place for me. So last Saturday, I had a phone interview with the head of the school that ended up hiring me, he said that the committee was meeting on Tuesday to decide and I'd know this week. Monday, all of my stuff arrived from the movers and was put into storage.
Thankfully my parents found ways to keep me from feeling too wired about the job stuff. Tuesday, we had a dinner party with lots of people, Sunday was their book club, Wednesday was a fundraiser dinner with the governor. And then Thursday morning, the head of school called me to let me know that I got the job, oh and new faculty orientation starts on the 23rd. Since then I've been processing, trying to plan, working hard to not fall over from awful allergies and even managing a little RP.
I apologize to everyone for how scattered and not quite here, I've been the past few weeks, moving plus job worries wasn't good for me. Now the job stuff is settled and while my RP will shift around, I'll find time. The big worry of the past year is settled, now just to learn how to be a school librarian.
This week I managed to sort out my end of the stupid Demeter-Teja stuff, which will be posted soon. I have some amazing OOMs going on in the background. Charles and Erik have become my happy place, I adore my Erik player so much. Also someday the cattle drive will actually be posted, time is just bendable.
Tumnus had an EP and was even tagged out to Thor and Holo.
Charles and Red began a difficult conversation. I really need to get him signed up to the infirmary as part of the psychiatric staff as he keeps doing things like this all on his own.
Sameth also had an EP, which is still open. He was tagged out to Sunshine. I meant to do more tagging last night but my body didn't cooperate and will try to do more tonight.
So newredshoes was all like "Hey, you know who's awesome, Adiva? Michelle Dockery as Kate Percy in The Hollow Crown! Also Joe Armstrong." And I was all like "Gosh, I should check that out!" And I was like "Wow, what a cool lady, maybe I should try playing her!"
So then I did a test run, which went well, and then . . . things happened.
And to conclude, gentle Kate, I am having so much damn fun. Shakespeare!!
Also, if you haven't watched The Hollow Crown yet and you're a Shakespeare fan -- or a Ben Whishaw, Tom Hiddleston, or Jeremy Irons fan -- it's all on YouTube, so you should get on that. :D
I have no links cause I am lame but Jessica Drew made it back to bar meeting her BBF Carol Danvers and Urquhart. Later she met Mike up in the rafter when he was trying to hide from X doing so extra-credit training.
I also brought in Batwoman who met Steve Rogers and posed for his sketches and stopped by Sunshine's Happy Hour.
In RL, I lost close to a pound, road my bike a bunch for some decent mileage (32 total) and did an okay job keeping my kitchen unfucked.
Today I am feeling worn out from drinking too much last night. Blech. Word of warning, when you alter you diet for any length of time, watch your alcohol intake.
It's been kind of a quiet week here, dealing with RL stress as always. Most of my threading is in backtags or pending at the moment - so... not really much going on. Hah. Busy busy in a smutty DR but that's mostly because it's my stress relief.
Got my ineedmyfics story done and now back from beta so hitting the edit before sending it off... EARLY. Also working on maybe something for Older Not Dead over on LJ and cotton candy bingo.
And trying to finish up getting registered for classes. I started a couple of months ago, this time; why is it being so difficult? But I'm in four of the five I want, so that's a plus.
Well it's RP of a different sort, as things are pretty busy and I still need to write some OOMs, but I had the first week of the second session of my D&D for Kids program this last Friday and I had 5 kids turn out! They all seemed to really enjoy it, and they were all enthusiastically expounding on what their characters were doing at every opportunity.
There were a few kids that were so enthusiastic they didn't want to stop, and were determined to fight the dragon to the death when we'd already snagged the needed dragon scales (and it was almost 5 minutes after the program was supposed to end). I was rather tempted to get more strict with the dragon's attack rolls and make their characters meet a grisly end as an object lesson. ;)
I am almost ridiculously pleased with the Twelve Dancing Princesses inspired plot in Ambergeldar. Joan, Kim, Lynne, and Write brought such absolutely amazing and inspired ideas to the table, and the whole thing was a pleasure from start to finish.
(We made Batman dance. I may never stop finding that funny.)
OH ALSO this is not a thing I personally did, but I have to glee over it anyway: another canonmate! Jane Foster is in the bar, and I am steepling my fingers and grinning.
I moved my girlfriend to Morgantown, West Virginia, last week. That was fun, until I had to make the blood sacrifice to the Gods of U-Haul. (If you're in West Virginia, look out. There's a trailer hitch on one of those U-Hauls that's tasted human blood.) It's pretty country, even if there aren't any straight lines when it comes to roads.
Anyway, I have returned, so Mark should show back up in the Bar shortly.

All else pales in comparison.
Though Steve's last EP is turning out to be pretty epic.

Carol has been very busy. She met Twilight Sparkle and Michaelangelo and bumped into canon-mate and BFF Jessica Drew. Plus, she's still harassing poor Alan of Trebond about his love life.
And back in the real world, tomorrow is the first day of the new school year for teachers. Summer vacation was lovely while it lasted!

I am well pleased with all of them!
