I think I'm gonna drop Thalestris here rather than take her through the rest of her canon. Not that I'm not enjoying her, but I'm faced with the same issues with her that I had with Hektor, namely, the world and the mindset are too different to really make interacting with other people all that comfortable. Plus, let's face it, her situation is a largely untenable one and the Milliways clientele tends to want to intervene. I have no IC reason not to go along with that beyond "if the attempt doesn't succeed you'll have pissed off every god there is", and, well, yeah. Basically, keeping her story flowing properly requires a complete lack of outside intervention, or intervention solely by people who are willing to fail. and as much as I adored interacting my Bronze Age teenage lesbian bull dancer with the Milliways pups, especially Bronn from Game of Thrones, keeping her around for too long would mean stupider and stupider excuses for keeping people away- and even keeping her long enough to finish canon would be difficult to justify. I don't want to change her ending, and I'm not seeing a justifiable way to avoid changing that ending, so I'm gonna resign her instead.

So, yeah. If you interacted with her, my apologies, I hadn't really anticipated it being a problem when I apped her; if you didn't, nothing was lost.

I'm sorry to hear it because I loved reading her threads, but that's entirely fair and understandable! Sometimes Milliways's many expanded options make it easier to get through canon (or to go AU if you want to), but sometimes they just make it really hard to justify the canon progression that drew your interest in the first place. So it goes.

Indeed. That kind of thing is why I've never apped Constable Kazuki Fuse, from Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade. His story is a spectacular tragedy of inevitability closing in from every side. I don't think it could be improved at all by changing his situation for the better; you'd have to change everything about his world and nearly everything about him to make it get better and stay better, and then you'd have lost everything about the story anyway. And that's assuming you even could change his whole world to begin with.

So, yeah... ah, well. Maybe in a sandbox somewhere, someday.

Aww, that's too bad - she was a fascinating character!
