Welcome to this month's Milliways Plotting meme! What's a Plotting Meme? It's a place to gather new plots and interactions for characters you're stalled for ideas with, characters new to bar, or pups you're dying to find rivals, friends, or romantic partners for! It's also a place to toss out ideas for larger plots. Looking to run a season-specific event or mini-plot? Ask here!

Here's how to particpate:

1: Copy and paste the information in one of the text boxes below into a comment; the bottom one if you're looking for a plot for your character or the top if you have a large, bar-wide plot you'd love to get other characters involved in.

For Individual Characters:

2: Give us your character's name, journal address, and a brief description of who they are and what they do - no more than a brief paragraph that summarizes this and their current bar plot.

3: Then tell us what kind of relationship you're looking to cultivate: romance, rivalry, a business partner, etc. Do this for each pup you'd like plot for.

4: After posting your comment, scan the post, see if anyone else's offer cataches your eye, and comment to them! If you've threadded with someone before and want to build on the interaction you've had, tell them so! Details can be worked out in private or they can be worked out on the meme, whichever you prefer.

Plot Idea: Stone Cold
where it's taking place: Milliways, Mostly outback
Characters Involved: Euryale, Amanda, any volunteers
I Am Looking For: Euryale will come to Milliways with a spell that will turn people to stone. Growing in strength as the stone spreads. I need pups that will slowly turn to stone, quickly turn to stone, investigate, and end the plot, ending can differ depending on how the plot plays out. Euryale staying in bar, being killed, turned to stone, or whatever the investigators come up with.

Character: Jack West
Character Journal: againsttherules
Information: Jack's current time, is late 1990. As a member of the Military, Jack will be on the front lines during the Gulf war. He will be reassigned to Judah, which will result in him working deep behind enemy lines. During one mission, he gets abandoned and left for dead by everyone else. He will successfully complete his mission, but be left with no escape route. Except one of Saddam Hussain's private escape planes.

I Am Looking For: Someone to help him fly a 747 out of an enemy controlled airbase. Although it won't be that hard, as it's the president's plane and the enemy won't realise it's actually being nicked till too late, it will require an experienced pilot (or someone with access to give Jack lots and lots of time on a simulator).

I'm tempted to offer Jessica here as she is trained in covert things but I can't remember if she's ever been shown to pilot any sort of aircraft. :/

Wait, I do have a pup who knows how to fly, Hank here. He's not going to be much good for combat but if you don't mind a jumpy, panicky kid, I'll offer him. He's also currently Bound from his home so giving him something to do would be good.

Well, It's probably not going to be for another month or so (I have canon with other pups that I want to get through first), but I'm liking the option. :)

Jack wouldn't necessarily mind a jumpy kid, as long as he's a reasonable pilot.

Also, in my vague outline of the way this ends, the Halicarnassus (the plane) ends up at Milliways (somehow), and Jack wanders back out of his door to somewhere unexpected (but is definitely not the enemy base they just escaped from).

Despite his apparent need for glasses, Hank does pilot a supersonic plane so he has to have already had some flight time (movie is vague with details). I know the Blackbird is sleeker than a 747 but I can see them being similar in size as far of piloting goes.

Well, it's going from twin jets to quad jet, but, beyond that? tbh, I don't think pilot consoles had come that far, from the 60's to the 80/90's (I mean, what do you need, Altimeter, attack gauge, roll gauge, throttles, joystick and peddles, fuel gauge. I think that'd be it?) and I don't think Computing had quite come far enough to make a significant impact (yet).

Character: Palamedes
Character Journal: olive_and_clove
Information: In Palamedes' canon, his immortality is a punishment for a crime against the Green Man that is never specified. In Arthurian myth, he is tied to the hunt for the Questing beast. I've decided that the Beast is somehow tied to the Green Man and Palamedes is charged with recapturing it; having been responsible for it's escape into the Earth shadowrealm. I am thinking the Beast is something like the Forest Spirit from Princess Mononoke, perhaps the fauna equivalent of the Green Man.

I Am Looking For: Anyone interested in a quest? I am thinking that from time to time Palamedes hears rumors of the Beast and goes to try and capture it. Canon has him immortal into modern times and his relationship with his elder, the Green Man, is still antagonistic so I am assuming he never caught the Beast so the Beast will need to escape but that doesn't mean we can't have fun trying right? I am also thinking November or December at the earliest as I am trying to keep Palamedes away from the Slender Man plot. I would also like to keep the tech to medieval seeming so please no guns. Magic does exist so power weapons are possible if they emulate melee or archery weapons so something like Fawke's hammer would be fine.

Cool. I am thinking maybe 2-3 at the most. Is Amanda more for planning and setting traps than direct confrontation? I've only scene bits of the Highlander TV series.

Amanda is good at planning, setting traps, and direct confrontations. She plans cons and heists and currently has over 800 years of combat experience, needed for keeping her head. Whatever you need from her she would like to help.

Awesome! And someday Amanda needs to meet Moist von Lipwig (morethanprops) a big conman from Discworld.

And I think Palamedes can learn a lot from Amanda about hiding immortality as he is only in his first century; but that is for a later date.

Character: Felix
Character Journal: venusadept_2
Information: Felix is an earth-mage - except that, the last several years, he hasn't been acting the part. And since his world's magic is based in large part on attitude and state of mind, this is about to come back to bite him. Specifically, he's going to get a Conversation With Dead Person that will make him realize the discrepancy, whereupon he will promptly lose access to his powers.

I Am Looking For: My thought, at this point, is that he'll go on some kind of vision quest. However, I'm enormously shaky on the details. What I'd like is someone to hash things out with, both planning-wise and to start it off IC-ly. Someone Felix already knows, or who seems naturally trustworthy, would be ideal, although given this is post-canon Felix and I still have the during-canon version, things can be handwaved merrily.
