So apparently my chem midterm is on Tuesday, not Thursday.

Who's a derp? Jack's a derp. Derp derp derp. Herpa derp.

Now to throw something up before I crash like Vista. Since it's Day of the Dead, let's do something angsty.

What will your characters' last words be? Be as general or specific as you want. Whitetext if you feel like it.

For all of them... probably "Oops."

(Except for Brisco, who will either have a heroically stoic death or die in his sleep when he and Dixie are somewhere in their 80s.)

(... I also just realized that apart from Shawn, all of my current Millipups have canonically died at least once. I have no idea what that says about my choices.)

I...can't remember what Charlie's last words were. Debi, do you, since the only person who heard them was Renee?

Kirk's last words were "it was fun." Really. Kind of hard to get behind that. I would prefer that they be the final words of Tale of Two Cities.

Howard's, sadly, are/were/will be a gasp of shock and pain when the car crash happens/happened.

Gibbs dies asking for rum.

Cy's death is too far in the future for me to see it. Assuming he actually dies, since I can see him eventually transferring his mind into a full robot in 90 or so years.

Knox? He probably asks what the Mets score was. Or if the Batsignal's on.

Well, to be picky, Nov. 1st was Day of the Dead, today is All Soul's Day.

Ben's will likely be either, "It's okay, I had this comin'", "It's Clobberin' TIme!" or "Get the kids outta here!"

Jessica's will be something equally heroic or perhaps, "See you later Cheeseburger."

Hank...Hank I don't know but if he had the time it would be something verbose and poetic, worthy of Shakespeare or Apollo.

If Palamedes were to die, he wouldn't waste words as he'd be fighting since he can only die a violent death. Or actually, it could be "Thank you" as his debt to the Green Man is finally fulfilled and the Elder takes his immortality away. This can only happen if Shakespeare or Saint Germain have already passed.

Thalia would be in a similar boat as being a Hunter of Artemis, she's immortal unless she dies violently or breaks her oath.

I can't look up Lawton's right now, but I think he screamed someone's name. Jeanette's or Blake's, I think.

Mel's will be: "Goddammit!"
Dinah's will probably be something profound to a teammate, like "I love you."

Will's will definitely be "Tell my son I'm sorry."

Mordin's got several possible canonical last words depending on how you play games 2 and 3. As far as I'm concerned, he dies singing.

If Varric can manage it, he's going to die as dramatically as possible, grabbing someone's shirt front and rasping out, "Tell them I said-" and then conk out, because nothing makes for a good story like not knowing what the guy was going to say. If he can't there's a very good chance it's going to involve him turning around to face something horrible (this includes dragons, demons, giant spiders, angry templars, and angry husbands as far as he's concerned) and going, "Oh, shit."

Arcade's kind of hoping to die in his sleep at a ripe old age, which would ideally make his last words something on the order of, "Goodnight, Rob. Turn out the light when you're done reading, would you?" Canon, however, has mostly very nasty options for his end, so it all depends on how things go for him canon-wise.

Medic's are probably along the lines of, "Vot do you mean ze respawners aren't working?"

I... honestly I have no idea what Ellen's are going to be. She expects to die alone in the wilderness somewhere and never get a funeral, so she doesn't really expect anyone to ever hear them, whatever they wind up being.

Zira's, since she's book canon and not movie canon and therefore the plot of Beneath The Planet Of The Apes (that's the one with the mutants and the Omega Bomb, right?) does not apply, are entirely up to me. And I say they are, "Goodbye, sweetie. You be good to your mother for great-grandmama, won't you?"

And Adrian's I've known for a long time: "You just hold her nice and steady, Major. We got us a hell of a view from up here."

For Felix, quite a lot depends on who's around when he dies - and who isn't, in terms of "did I/we take the bad guy out before I died?". I could see something like "Well done" or "Keep them safe" or similar; next most likely is a simple, happy "Sheba!"

Kain, I think, would get more of a last humph and go out with a smile.

I'd really prefer not to think much about ponies' last words, but if Fluttershy's was "oh!" I wouldn't be surprised.

Mia's last words will probably be something affectionate towards her family, whether peacefully passing in her bed or dying in the glory of battle.

Lucas, depending on one's view of the ending, will go out with a sob. Before that, his words will probably be along the lines of love and sorrowful comfort.

Lohengrin will die with a cringe. Not of pain at the Raven's claw but realization. But his words before that, as I've got down so far, are addressed to Siegfried: "Allow me to carve the path to your victory, my liege."
jjprobert: (Millipups)

Erik Selvig's are probably something simple like, 'don't forget to turn the power down.' Or else, 'Ohh, now I understand.' Or just, 'Oh Shit!'

Alfred's will probably be along the lines of "Goodnight, Mister Wayne."

Bean's could equally be something momentous and profound, or just a simple, "Farewell."

Jack West: "Oh no you're not..."

Max Epper: "I have to go now and see my lovely Doris again..."

Yes, everyone's covered by the whitetext, book canons at the bottom.

Hotspur doesn't even get to finish his last words, which is tragic, considering he spends his whole canon ranting, in paragraphs: "No, Percy, thou art dust/And food for—"

In the AU where he gets to be an old man and die in bed, he probably talks to his wife, and they're still needling and baiting each other and being outrageously in love.

Whitetext for all, as some of them involve spoilers!

Gaeta: "...It stopped." (Canon, referring to the constant phantom pain in his leg. brb weeping forever.)

The Trickster: "No one makes us do anything." (Also canon, right after he finishes a giant Crowning Moment of Awesome speech to Lucifer.)

Olivia: I expect it to be on the job -- and so does she -- so either there won't be time for last words, or it'll be something along the lines of, "THIS IS YOUR FINAL WARNING."

Bolin: It's either going to involve a peaceful, happy goodbye to his family, or just be a lot of panicked screaming as, like, a giant dragon eats him or something. WHO KNOWS. He's my happy character, dammit, I don't want to think about him dying. :(

Will's will probably be something quiet and reminding his family, which he's going to have someday to take care of something.

*eyes Marvel and Charles* Just because he dies doesn't mean he might not come back and I'm going to consider X3 canon for a moment as the words seem apt. Also that scene was one of the bits that sort of worked. "Don't let it control you."

Demeter can't really play in this one.

Sameth, he could die as an old man saying something to Kait or I could see him becoming closer to the Charter and saying, "Oh, I see now."

In canon, Moist gets to say his last words and even prep for them, "I commend my soul to any god that can find it."
I think they fit him very well and that the might use them again.

William isn't that talkative and I could see a couple of deaths for him; getting shot while being a lawman so dying with a curse or dying an old man and saying something to his family.

Jane, Jane's tricky because she's a historical figure and something to her sister or family probably.

Tumnus probably has last words in The Last Battle but that's the one Narnia book I haven't read and I don't want to go looking for them.

The Pirate King dies with a song on his lips.

Thor's, canonically, are "It's over." (Okay, he didn't exactly die then, but he thought he was.) I dunno what they'll be whenever he dies for real. Depending on the circumstances, either something similar or just a cocky grin before he flies off to do battle.

I'm not sure what (if anything) is specified for his last words in the other canon of Norse myth, though I know how he dies. But my Thor is significantly different from the version in Norse myths, anyway, so there's only so relevant that is.

River's will probably be something like "Gonna be okay."

Regan, I have no idea, but I certainly plan for her to die peacefully in fairly old age, so they won't be anything epic. A goodbye to whatever family members are around, presumably.

Trowa has some canonical words before almost-certain-death situations, but he doesn't actually die in any of them. ("Don't be too hard on Quatre, Heero" when I'm pretty sure no comms are on, after a long speech to Quatre is one. The other is "No. Detonation should be done away from them. Limit the casualties to just ourselves." followed by something along the lines of "The self-destruct missed its chance again" when the eleventh-hour save comes through.)

Clare probably would either have no words, or an explanatory monologue. That's how Claymore rolls. *wry* In her latest OOM, she definitely thought she was going to die, and there was some monologuing and goodbyes that I glossed over; I will try to remember to look them up when I'm home.

If I recall correctly, the time that Steve died in the Civil War arc ("that one time he died"--oh, comics, ILU) his last words were, "Make sure the civilians get to safety."

*brb sobbing forever*

And of course in the movie, when he "died", it was, "I don't want to step on your--static"

He's not going to die again. NO NO NO YOU CAN'T MAKE ME BELIEVE IT.

Bilbo's were, in the LOTR movie at least, "I think I'm quite ready for another adventure." I'd look it up in the book but it's in a box somewhere.

Merlin's, I suspect, are going to be grief for Arthur, given the way Merlin seems to be steering itself toward classic Arthurian mythology. And ow how much is that going to hurt.

Jack isn't going to say anything when he finally dies. He's just going to close his eyes and let go.

Stuart, now...Stuart is going to die peacefully in his sleep at a ripe old age, and his last words will be to David, something like, "Wake me up when supper's ready."

...I think I need to write this fic. Heh.

*Grabs his copy of LotR*

The last recorded words of Bilbo's are to Frodo: "And now I think I am quite ready to go on another journey. Are you coming?" Though it is implied that the whole group of them rode and spoke a great deal more over the journey, and, of course, that journey only really ends when they reach the Undying lands.

Aang: "will you go penguin sledding with me?"
In my mind Aang dies in his sick room after his body just slowly shuts down. Katara is by his side.

Splinter: Canonically he dies of a heart attack alone at the farmhouse in Northampton on his way to get the mail. Just sort of...keels over.

Ida: "Morons."
It's not canon, but I like it.

Raph: Canon has Raph outliving...pretty much damn near everyone. He even outlives the human race. In what is considered the latest bit of canon by many fans, Raph ends up a senile old turtle who is master to a group of irradiated mutant animals. He calls all of them Mike.

SO...I think his last words would probably be calling out to his brother.

Mike: There's no canon hint as to what happens to Mike, but I've been running with the Millicanon that he's got a congenital heart defect that takes him relatively young...by comparison. Like Splinter, I don't think he has last words, I think he just goes to sleep and that's it.

Nita . . . I have no idea. If she actually has time to consider her last words, they'd probably be something along the lines of "It was worth it."

But really, she's a hell of a lot more likely to die in a confrontation with the Lone Power, in which case her last words would be something like "Is that all you've got?"

Carmela I can see going out with "Vale, well, this wasn't exactly how I wanted negotiations to go."

Kim, since she (spoiler!) gets of the streets, is going to die quietly in bed. "Good night, then."

Tom: "Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck!" Presumably followed by a Braveheart-style charge into a shamble of zombies, screaming in pants-shitting terror the whole way.

Moth is a fairy! And even if she somehow managed to get herself killed, she'd probably just blink. Not very talkative, is Moth.

Epimetheus is also immortal. The only thing I can think of that would approximate an actual death that would involve actual last words is if somehow someone managed to throw him into Tartarus, and then he would say something terribly defiant and glorious in Ancient Greek that I don't have time to figure out at the moment. >.>

Charles Wallace would spend the days leading up to his death (at the age of like, a hundred) smiling at his friends and quoting all the lines I looked up while pondering this, but his actual last words would just be "Ah. Let's go."

Is that all of them? I think so. I'm tempted to do this for my stable of sandbox characters (anything to put off doing actually NaNo writing for a little longer).

Spoilery white text for one:

Grace: "You're gonna bleed to death soon."

Canon. But, being Grace, her real last words are written all over her face. After the demon-evil-whatever-he-is taunts her about her sister's death, she gives him an unmistakable 'Fuck you' glare and tosses a lit cigar on a truck full of explosive material.

Alanna: She will likely die in battle of some sort, so I imagine she will order the nearest person to "Make sure Jon is safe!" No matter what, that is her duty.

Lizzie: Stubborn to the last, she'll probably insist "I have no intention of dying today" if it's of natural causes. If not, she'll be too busy trying to stab the person responsible for words.

If she happened to be fatally wounded while Will is still bound to the Dutchman, however, it would be "Throw me overboard. Send me to Will."

Doctor Evil: "Finall-y I have realized my dream of putting laser beams on sharks. My new Shark-bots are exquisite. The world will be min... ow."

Thayet: "We've done well, haven't we?"

Jim: He's a hard one. He'll likely die from either an accident or in his sleep as an old man. In either case, his last words would probably be completely unrelated to his passing and utterly banal. Like, "the sun's just set. I'll go check on the brood mares."

Abigail: "I hate to let you win, boy-o." I don't know why.

Leela - [personal profile] eyeeyecaptain - "AHHHHHHHHHHhhaaaaaHHHhhhhaHHHHHHHHHHHH!" (Though I'm also a fan of the Fry/Leela tender moment clutch.)

Porthos - [personal profile] srspirate - He once said, "I'd rather die covered in blood than an old man lying in my own piss." Ironically, he got to experience both. Dumas' character was killed at Belle Isle en Mer, in Brittany, by a collapse of huge rocks in a grotto which now bears his name, Le Grotte de Porthos. The historical figure, Isaac de Porthau, lived to be 95, eventually dying of apoplexy I think? Sadly, I'm too lazy to get up and see what his last words were, but undoubtedly they were something grand.

Grace Augustine - [personal profile] donthidemycigs - Le, sigh. "I'm with her, Jake. She's real." Though, personally, I'm a fan of, "This is gonna ruin my whole day."

Renee Walker - [personal profile] whathastobedone - [INSERT HEADCANON HERE.] If she dies on the job, her last words would be barking orders and making sure everyone else is okay. "Is the president safe?" sprang to mind. If she dies of more natural causes, "Remember that I love you, and that I don't regret anything. Not a single moment."

Ray Carling - [personal profile] flickedmethevs - "I'm sorry, dad."

Lily Bell - [personal profile] maidenofthewest - Hm, this one troubles me. I need more of a think on it.

Zoë Washburne - [personal profile] someonetocarryyou - Zoë dies laughing.

Regina Mills - [personal profile] happilyneverafter - "I just wanted to win. For once."
