Do your pups celebrate or enjoy holidays? What are your pup's favorite holidays? What holidays are unique to their world/time?

By and large, my pups like holidays, though to varying degrees.

Kirk never actually takes the day off for any holiday, so his observances tend to be low key. And they don't observe as many as we do. Thanksgiving endures, as do Christmas and New Year's Day but most nation states days are forgotten. Two new holidays of his day are Apollo Day (July 20, of course) and Federation Day, marking the day the Federation was founded.

Howard is big on New Year's Eve and July 4, and just to annoy his dad he makes sure to do something nice on Labor Day. (I fear when he is older, his attitude towards labor will change.) Alas, he will not celebrate that loudly on V-E Day.

Gibbs treats most holidays as something solemn and therefore not worth bothering with. But finding things like the Bar version of Christmas has opened his eyes to the possibilities.

Cy loves every holiday. He manages to find something special in each, and does the appropriate public minded activity - celebration of MLK's legacy, celebration of democracy, and so forth. But his favorite is Christmas, of course. He dresses as Santa for kids!

Knox adds a couple of Jewish holidays some years. He lights a Hanukkah lamp these days, and attends a seder on occasion. And never has a Christmas tree now. But he still does the things everyone else does. Oh, and Valentine's Day is a special day since he met Raps. (So is Christmas Eve, since that was when they started dating.)

Charlie is the closest thing I have to a holiday agnostic. He always find the reasons NOT to celebrate, but at the end of the day, Christmas and Thanksgiving are too much about family to dismiss outright. And he tries to find the meaning in MLK Day, Veterans Day and Memorial Day. But whatever you do, don't get him started on the others.

They don't have holidays in cyberspace, but Enzo has happily taken to celebrating them in Milliways, with Dani's family, or sometimes discreetly at home if that makes the most sense (as with, for example, Father's Day). Religion not being a sprite thing, he is not big on religious holidays, but is very happy with any holiday with a broad secular application. (Thanksgiving may be a national holiday celebrating a particular historical event, but it's also a day to consider what you're thankful for, which he thinks is a good thing for anyone.) He's also cool with the general family togetherness and peace-on-earth aspect of Christmas. He doesn't much mind what country a holiday comes from, but tends to go heavier on the American holidays, since that's what Dani's family celebrate.

Gordon is not a particularly holiday-intensive person, although he makes a point of marking people's birthdays (including dead scientists' birthdays) and has a certain fondness for New Year's.

Adrian puts a good deal more stock in holidays, particularly Easter, Christmas, Memorial Day and what he's reasonably sure is going to be called Remembrance Day again in the future. He also makes a VERY BIG point of marking the Marine Corps' birthday, so, yeah, there's that.

Ray has every single cultural and religious holiday marked by the residents and workers of New York City mapped out on his calendar for the next three hundred years, because as fantastic as celebration is, it also often coincides with surges in PKE and the associated spirits and spooks. Holidays tend to be a leetle bit different for somebody who gets Christmas cards from demons and goodwill visits from Grandfather Frost on the Russian Orthodox calendar. And don't ask about Halloween.

Vault holidays celebrated include Christmas, Easter (they were big on Easter in Vault 101, since it involved "hooray the underground person container opened and let somebody out alive"), New Year's, July 4th, the Overseer's Birthday, and Memorial Day. This is not the same Memorial Day as was celebrated before the War. This is October 23rd, the day of the Great War. There is a three minutes' silence attached to this one, marked at 9 AM because the folks in the Vault were never entirely clear on the exact time the bombs hit. It is an immensely solemn day. On the surface there are a few other local holidays, and there's the Brotherhood of Steel days, which include a period of ten days of self examination and evaluation leading up to October 23rd, followed by a celebration on October 25th. The first period is to mark the time between Roger Maxson's discovery of the Mariposa research and his flipping the War Department off with every middle finger on the premises (although most of the Brotherhood doesn't know the specifics, just that this time is important). The thing on the 25th marks the day one of Maxson's men volunteered to scout the surface and discovered that the radiation hadn't reached them yet- it's a Hooray We Aren't Dead kind of holiday.

That's all Millicanon, you understand. There's no mention of holidays in the game as far as I can tell.

Ben, Val, Hank and Andrea love holidays as they mean family and friends which are very important to them.

Jessica mostly gets holidays and likes them, but can't help feeling a little awkward with them.

Palamedes has trouble getting into holidays as they usually have some religious significance and he knows too much about the gods.

Thalia isn't a fan of holidays unless it's spent with chosen family.

Mike There isn't a commercial American Holiday that Mike doesn't love. If it involves special food, obnoxious decorations, or some sort of animated special, then it's one of Mike's favorite things.

If he had to absolute choose a favorite it'd be Halloween. Tied for second are April Fools' Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

Raph & Splinter Pretty much follows in the holiday wake left by Mikey.

Much as everyone loves Christmas, the fact that it's forever the anniversary of the day the Shredder returned and nearly killed Leo, and torched April out of house and home is never forgotten. Even Raph is nicer to Leo on Christmas.

Bumi For the Water Tribes the Solstice are giant-huge feast days, so Bumi celebrates those. There's the various family birthdays that are observed regardless of where he happens to be.
Bumi can be convinced pretty easily to celebrate any local holiday that involves special foods and drinks.

Then there're the solemn occasions like Avatar Day, his father's birthday, the anniversary of the day he died, and his parent's wedding anniversary. He makes sure to call his mom on that day, regardless of where he is, or what he's doing.

The Loompas celebrate the day they escaped the clutches from the Wonka.

70s!Gene loves Christmas. It's an excuse for loads of drinking and food, and Christmas specials on TV. There generally seems to be a downturn in crime too, though that might be because he spends most of nights in the pub/at various Christmas parties. He gets to spend Christmas Day enjoying the wife's excellent cooking - and his mother's - while sitting on the sofa getting nicely sozzled on whatever booze there is to hand. So - yep, there's pretty much nothing about it he doesn't love.

80s!Gene is a bit quieter about it, mostly because there's no one to share it with. *pats him*

Bruce Banner doesn't like holidays. He made an effort when he was with Betty, and didn't have a bad time, but he never really gets in the spirit. And these days - no. Just no.

Bruce Wayne is mostly indifferent to them. He's got other things on his mind. If anything, they're an inconvenience, because there are public events he has to show his face at.

Harry likes Christmas since he started at Hogwarts. Holidays used to suck, but these days, he has friends and adopted family around. And presents! He was chuffed to bits to get his first present at age eleven.

Bilbo loves his birthday. Loves it. Especially when he'll turn eleventy-one ;D.

Holidays don't seem to get celebrated in Merlin. It's vaguely Christian--since they keep talking about "the old religion"--but no one goes to mass or prays. Considering how big a part religion played in the actual dark/middle ages...well, it's not the first historical liberty they take.

Stuart likes the hols because it means a break from school.

Steve loves all the major American holidays (and probably a few of the minor ones, though I imagine things like Talk Like a Pirate Day or Towel Day will make him Eyebrow at you.) But he especially loves Independence Day, since it's also his birthday. And yes, when he was tiny he thought the fireworks were for him.

Well, Amascut complains loudly about Halloween and has learned to avoid Cubefall like the plague, but I don't think she gives a damn about holidays in general. Easter is a tad annoying, but not very.

I think most of my pups celebrate the major American holidays to varying degrees. Christmas and Halloween are the major ones we see.

In addition to the usual, Fry's time has holidays like Freedom Day and Parade Day (which are pretty much exactly what they sound like.) New Years' Eve is also pretty special to him.

Holidays are a bit tough for Brisco thanks to his semi-nomadic lifestyle, but he does try to celebrate as best he can wherever he happens to be at the time.

Elle celebrated typical contemporary U.S. holidays when she was young, but after her father brought her into the Company, her only real connection with them was sometimes getting treats around the time they were happening (e.g., candy canes on Christmas, candy hearts on Valentine's Day). She could enjoy the trappings around them when she went out, but the greater social/cultural context was usually lost on her. Now it's pretty much the same, except more to do with when the Bar puts up decorations/if X is doing anything. She doesn't really have a favorite, though she prefers the holidays that involve sweets.

For Asami, I think the only explicitly stated holiday in Avatarverse is Avatar Day, which no one should celebrate because it's horrible. The idea of the solstice being a time when the Spirit and physical worlds are closer together seems to be a universal notion, though, so I'd guess that festivals around those times are pretty common anywhere. It does seem like a lot of holiday-type-events are pretty localized in Avatarverse, so as for what that may mean for Republic City... well, maybe fewer holidays because its history is unique, or on the other side of the scale, it might be something like the New York City Parking calendar. I guess I should make up some headcanon for that. In any case, Asami would probably celebrate whatever common holidays there are in the City.

The big holiday for Manny is Día de los Muertos, mainly because the game is set up in such a way that the story always takes place on that November 2. The only other mentioned holiday is Christmas, though one would guess others happen, as well. Despite its importance in the game, the Day of the Dead definitely isn't Manny's favorite holiday, as he never really seems to celebrate it (for the Dead in Grim Fandango, this means going to visit their still-living relatives, which Manny has no interest in). Really, he's too much of a workaholic to care for any holiday that much.

Leslie definitely loves holidays. Which isn't surprising, given her enthusiasm and love of ... everything. She even makes up her own holiday, Galentine's Day, celebrated on February 13th with ladies being awesome to other ladies and giving each other gifts because they're awesome. But she's also known for getting the perfect thoughtful Christmas gifts for others, and I imagine she's the type of person who'd want to throw parties for Flag Day or any Historical Birthday/Figure day. I don't think she's outright said which holiday is her favorite, but I'd kind of guess Galentine's Day, as she created it.

Marceline, um... well, she comes to Day for Wearing Sweaters and Watching Secret Tapes. While there are religious figures in Ooo/Adventure Time, that's the only "holiday" that's described. There do seem to be something other specific-to-the-location traditions (like the Back-Rubbing Ceremony in the Candy Kingdom... um), but Marceline probably wouldn't celebrate those. She is sometimes called in to perform at parties, though.

Yes!

I imagine Henry generally likes the regular holidays, though I feel like July 4th isn't a big deal in Storybrooke. 'Cause, y'know. But yay Christmas.

Tavi seems somewhat indifferent? Then again, during the only major holiday we see in Alera, he's busy having final exams, being nearly killed a few times over, breaking in and out of max security prison, and making sure someone's covering for the First Lord. I expect as a kid he loved it. Given that they celebrate end of winter--so probably equinox?--I am assuming solstices are observed, maybe autumnal equinox. I think in general he likes family holidays, but we don't see him get the chance to celebrate them.

Lois likes Christmas. She probably doesn't care so much about Easter. Probably does July 4th (and loves the explosions, too much so). New Year's = awesome (parties and all). Thanksgiving is less of a thing, I think? But she does appreciate it. Oh yeah, and I think she loves Halloween. She, uh, has a thing about costumes as a rule.

I wonder why there aren't any "A Very Special Rescue Me [INSERT HOLIDAY]" episodes. So I have no idea how Tommy responds to holidays, but probably not very favorably, especially the ones involving family. Pick a holiday, and there would be booze, and shouting, and fighting, and more booze.

I'd like to write something involving a teenage Tommy at a St. Patrick's Day parade, though. And A Very Special 62 Truck Christmas. Because that needs to happen.

Clementine celebrates 420. And her birthday. Yes.

We never did get any holiday episodes with Brisco, but running soley on headcaon, I'd say Dix is a fourth of July fan. She likes things that give off sparks and big bangs.

Juliet is definitely something of a Valentine's Day girl in my head.

Ponycanon has many instances of various holidays, which are detailed here. PINKIE LOVES ALL THE HOLIDAYS. ALL OF THEM!

Holidays!

Henry, Shawn & Gus celebrate Christmas with gift giving, decorations and dinner with the Gusters. Every year he and Shawn exchange gifts and have a competition to guess what the other one got them. In my headcanon Thanksgiving is similar since just Henry & Shawn is a little depressing and means breaking up the dynamic Shawn & Gus duo. Gus "celebrates" Valentines Day by hitting the club to meet single women... and still ends up buying chocolates for himself.

Archie, in my headcanon at least, spends most holidays with Marco and Pongo - probably with some traditional elements since Storybrooke is so traditional pre-breaking.

Michael has a rough time with most holidays, this is sort of the first year he's actually been home for them and Mom tries to go back to the 'family traditions' but it ends up being more awkward and depressing than anything. I've always imagined that when he could over the years, he didn't send gifts for Christmas but always sent his Mom and brother something for their birthday.

Penny goes to parties. :D And goes home to Nebraska occasionally for the holidays.
