Let's talk two different things; cold and tests because this morning its stupid cold here in Michigan, its about 19 degrees and midterm exam week at my work.

How do your characters feel about cold mornings? What's their favorite or best way to wake and warm themselves up on a cold day?

Or other option of a question; how do your characters feel about tests? Do they have to take them in their current life, did they take them a lot as a student or not?

I hadn't thought of Ellen's experience of growing up in a climate controlled environment and how disconcerting a cold morning could be. That makes a lot of sense.

Yeah, cold mornings freaked her out. So did irregular ground- the Vault had flat metal floors, after all- and varying light levels at morning and dusk, because Vault 101 only really had 'lights on' or 'lights off'. Even wind was weird for her, and we're not going to get into her reaction to fog. ("OH MY GOD WHY CAN'T I SEEEEE oh wait.")

Fog is weird anyway, so I can see it worrying her. I think my least favorite part of mornings is dealing with having to scrape and then defog my car's front window. The way it works seems badly designed and I never time it right.
