Let's talk two different things; cold and tests because this morning its stupid cold here in Michigan, its about 19 degrees and midterm exam week at my work.

How do your characters feel about cold mornings? What's their favorite or best way to wake and warm themselves up on a cold day?

Or other option of a question; how do your characters feel about tests? Do they have to take them in their current life, did they take them a lot as a student or not?

Scorpius does not like cold mornings, but he's used to them at Hogwarts. If anything, the first couple of cold days in the year are the worst, but he manages. His first thing in the morning is to go for a jog, so that always helps with the warming up!

As for exams, it all depends on the class. He's far more comfortable with Charms and Transfiguration, so he tends to do rather well on exams and pop-quizzes, regardless of studying or not. In Potions and Arthimancy, despite any studying he's done, he'll often stress during and second-guess his answers.

Hogwarts seems like it would be a mix of good and bad for cold mornings as there's lots of cozy breakfast but all that stone is chilly.

Definitely a mix. I imagine some sort of magic is at work to keep the rooms toasty-warm and there are a lot of fireplaces throughout, but it can definitely get chilly. Some of those corridors are open to courtyards and the elements.

And the beds have the lovely curtains which are good for holding in the warmth but yeah, one of those places where the temperature would change a lot depending on where you are.
