What have you done this week to be awesome, Milliways?
Be it RL, RP, or fandom related, share it!
Did you have a great thread or write an awesome fic? Did you bake a cake/cookies/muffins?
Did you build a snowman who can breathe fire? WITHOUT MELTING?
Alternatively, if you care about football, which team are you pulling for today?
Or are you just in it for the commercials?
Share, chat, enjoy.
(Or just stare at the gif and try to wrap your head around it.)

And I have no interest at all in the ads this year. Most of the ads the last few years have been disappointing at bad, insulting at worse. I will wait till everyone else tells me what was actually good. And probably still say meh.
Meanwhile, in the bar...finished slowtimes wit Miss Kate Barlow!!
Cyborg and Kate during the snowball fight.
Kate and Jim Kirk go riding.
And new to the Bar this week: Knox and Lois chat once more.

This week has been nutty for me. I've road 26 miles total for the week, processed and proofed over 20 manuals, cooked dinner 4 out fo the five nights (instead of frozen dinners) and adapted two cockatiels.
In RPG land, I just kept threads alive though it occurs to me now I forgot about my Andrea threads, dang it.

I haven't done much of anything RP-wise this week because I've just been too darn exhausted. (
I did a bunch of stuff at work, mostly not that exciting. On the fun side, I discovered I still have an encyclopedic knowledge of the movie Top Gun. Also Hawkeye #7 hit stores and we discovered that Clint Barton is still great at boats, plus making it more awesome, Fraction is donating everything he makes from this issue to the Red Cross for Sandy relief.

I made people in both the Boston office and the New York one very happy by producing beef jerky for both places. My spice recipe seems to be working out quite well, I just need to remember to use top round or eye round instead of brisket. Next stop: ask the landlord about charcoal grills so I can look into smoking my own pork shoulder to make bacon from scratch. I realize it's a lot of work, but I want the right to say I know how to do it.
I got a Capital Wasteland OOM written that's going to lead eventually into a grand melee at Evergreen Mills, too, if people are interested...
Oh, and I'm almost certain that I'm going to be apping a crack character this month. Depends on if I can get my hands on a copy of Santo y Blue Demon Contra los Monstruos. Because the Bar always needs more luchadores.

Not only were the kids engaged, but at one point one of the grown-ups came over and complimented me on being really great with the kids.
To say I was chuffed would be a great big giant understatement.
In addition to that my Friday included getting to play with Call Ducks, meeting an adorable froshie from my alma mater with a geeky passion for science who the followed me around like a Call Duck, and then going out clubbing for the first time in quite literally years.
Today we're having people over for the Stupor Bowl and I'm very much looking forward to deep frying some Mac and Cheese.
NOM NOM NOM.

In the land of "holy shit I'm actually threading," meanwhile, Bolin is chatting with Thor and going a bit goggle-eyed over Mjolnir.
Ten to one odds he gets Thor a thermos of noodles before this thread's out.no subject
(I think Bolin is winning for most distraction with least effort, so far! In part because Thor has Bolin mentally categorized as "outgoing young warrior who hasn't seen battle," which is a category he knows REALLY WELL how to interact with without having to pull up small talk manners or anything. LET'S TALK WEAPONS AND POWERS, COOL.)

Thank you Bolin and Thor!

* Finished a (very slow) slowtime;
* Finalized (I hope) my data collection instrument and submitted full amendment to IRB for approval;
* (In the process, continued my run of working with their staff to help diagnose various IT issues with the site - suffice to say they are actually replacing the entire thing from scratch in the next 2 months);
* Signed up for an endurance athletics event, more details of which will be coming soon. :)
Now I am making tea and working on translation, online formatting, and database-building for said data collection instrument, after which I have to write up comments to a grant proposal revision and to a draft manuscript.
Happy February?

Fun story: on two different occasions I was looking through that post to tag back and thought "wow there's a long thread I wonder who - oh." Yep.
And as per: Super Bowl, I do like football, and have a decent amount of affection for both teams playing (as opposed to dislike or being an outright fan), so I'm pretty happy with the match up, as I can enjoy the game regardless of who wins. But my plans amount to maybe getting delivery or takeout. Exciting!

So he had another round of OOMs detailing the end of Thor's Terrible, Horrible, No-Good Very Bad Day, and then he returned to Milliways. He's currently threading with *deep breath* Wonder Woman, Ellen Park, Bolin, the Fool, Noriko Ashida, Katya, Garyn Balvadares, and Aphrodite (plus a note from Darcy Lewis), and I am loving all of them. Man I love playing this big lug.
In non-Thor-related news, Clare hanging out in the Actual Cannibal hunt thread, where she's meeting Andrew Wells, although neither of them is currently cannibal-hunting. And Clare and Ambriel's earnest discussion of Milliways as a place of recreational learning (and evil-stalking) is continuing in slowtime.
Oh, and re: Super Bowl, I don't really have any stake in football... uh, anything. I was thinking of going to

Re: that gif is hypnotically beautiful
Thor is no longer in plot limbo, so he'll be in again, don't worry. We can both keep an eye out!

FINE! WHATEVER! MORE MAC AND CHEESE FOR ME!

To start with I tagged Will out and he met Kate Percy and spoke with Doc.
Charles had an EP, met Katya in the hunt post. They're getting along better than I expected. He also talked weird food with Ellen.
William ended up in the hunt with Katya too, met Andrea Nash, talked with Regulus about family and arguments. I love how William keeps making friends of wizards.
Sameth talked with Mal about magic writing.
Moist is giving an unhelpful introduction to Church.

These include: Alfred meeting Tumnus, getting a little annoyed at Poins, as mentioned above, meeting Invincible and doing his best to help a boy work through his issues about his father.
And, in a super ancient slowtime that is now wrapped, Jack West gets some help to get out of his predicament.
Edit: I also did a sting in the tail from the Thor movie.
