Let's do this like Buddhists.

From your point of view, what's your character's greatest strength? Their worst flaw? What about from the point of view of someone close to them? What about from your character's point of view?

From my point of view, I think Tommy's greatest strength is his bravery. Just balls-to-the-wall bravery and guts and dedication to his job. And I think anybody who knows him in canon would say the same thing, from his family members to his coworkers, no matter what else they thought of him as a person.

Because as a person...well. Flaws up the ass. Hard to pick the worst one because they're all intertwined. But his alcoholism, which is tied into his addictive nature, does the most harm to himself and others. His friends might say he's an asshole whether or not he's drunk. He and his wife can no longer communicate like normal people, as everything ends in a fight. His kids just want their old dad back.

From Tommy's point of view? He'd say his greatest strength is that he does his job well. His worst flaw is his refusal to admit that he has any flaws, not out of arrogance, really, because deep down he knows he's not perfect -- but a reluctance to face the truth about himself and what he's done to the people closest to him.

Jack is at a really interesting moment in his life right now, where he's redefining himself. So, from his point of view, he's not sure. From the point of view of his squadies, it's his skill and courage in the face of live fire. "He's the best of us."

From my point of view, it's his courage and determination to do what's right, regardless of the possible cost.

Flaws. His squaddies would refuse to believe he has any, and that's not just army loyalties showing. For me, I'm not sure I could pick one as his 'greatest', course, I'm biased because I know all his future canon, and may well be offsetting that against current flaws.

But for him. As far as Jack's concerned, he's too good with a gun. At the moment, he doesn't look to take any other options. He is an exceptionally good killer, and he doesn't like this fact.

Strengths
My POV: Autor's brain is a sponge. He's observant, analytical. And, he doesn't know it right now, but he'll give his life for someone if he trusts them.

His POV: I'm an excellent piano student, I'm self-sufficient, I'm far more ambitious than anyone else and I have the drive to focus on those ambitions.

Flaws
My POV: He's obnoxious, egotistical, severely insecure, obsessive, moody, clumsy when distracted, and has a terrible habit of trying to get people's attention--even though he can't make up his mind about whether or not he cares what they think about him.

His POV: I'm mortal/easily breakable, I can't see very well, and I hate manual labor.
