Paintball anyone?

Don't you love it when an innocent idea to embarrass a pup turns into an idea for a party/grand melee? Yes? I blame today's DE and that's my story.

Anyway, anyone interested in a game of paintball? I'm thinking Andrea can post a notice for interested parties, noting suggested equipment (which can be had from Bar) and time and place. I'm tempted to have her suggest those not normal human wear an armband or something as well to give fair warning. Then on the day of the event, go wild. Thread hope, stalk those who are in or out of your time zone, whatever. Just have fun.

Thoughts?

ETA: Ok, we seem to have a several people interested so I am thinking I will have Andrea post the flyer tomorrow morning and then in the afternoon, I will post the EP with the game. I will consider the post open until at least this coming Monday so folks will have plenty of time for slows and tagging. Feel free to tag beyond Monday if the mood/thread strikes.

The way I'm thinking of running it is ANdrea puts up the poster tomorrow and throws up the EP at the end of my work day tomorrow as well. Then the post is open at least until next Monday to give folks lots of time to play. Of course people can continue to tag beyond that time if they wish.

Last-minute addition request: Bonus weapons?

If people would be interested in a little extra mayhem thrown into the mix, Punie and Paya-tan would love to take a shine to the game and add some bonus equipment.

In her deeply messed-up canon, magical princess Punie is capable of conjuring up a ridiculous amount of high-powered real-world weaponry -- including a Huey, which she uses to launch a full-on Apocalypse Now airstrike against her school -- and she would be thrilled to provide some paint-filled hand grenades, anti-personnel Claymore mines, or other modified area-denial devices to supplement the existing Bar-supplied weapons. (All of them would be non-lethal, of course, but still able to magically spray paint all over anyone who trips the wrong wire or steps into the kill zone.)

Ideally, Punie and Paya would be setting up these devices all around the combat zone before joining the battle themselves, so if this sounds acceptable then feel free to have your character stumble upon one or more of them for greater OMG WTF-ery. They'll be totally optional and avoidable if you'd like -- especially since those with military combat experience might be in for an extremely rude shock when confronted by a small, chain-smoking Paya-tan wielding a paint-thrower or rocket-propelled paint grenade launcher. But if you're interested in anything specific, one or both of us can coordinate threading as needed.

I'd like to get Sariel in on this. I just have to get her past the initial WTF is this? A combat simulation, with paint? reaction. Bonus points for a thread before the actual games begin, as it were, between her and somebody who knows what the heck paintball is and can clue a twenty-fourth century Starfleet officer in.

Depends on a) my busyness level, and b) who else is playing. I've got one character who might be highly entertained at the prospect of a warriors' training game involving little colorful paint pellets! And, uh, could probably use the refresher course in how to train in a melee with humans and not injure them. But I also don't want to toss him at a group that's entirely unprepared for that level of cheerful mayhem...

(And I have about a billion slowtime threads with him, so I'm not promising to get to it anyway. But the prospect is a fun one.)

Aside from Thor, my main option is to have Clare wander into the middle of the field and stare confusedly at everyone. *laughing* River and Regan wouldn't, and Trowa only would if a friend of his was playing and challenged him to join in.
