Daily Entertainment

I have a dream that one day mankind will be able to sleep through the weekend and stay awake throughout the entire week.

Until then, I have Red Bull, pressure points, and sheer force of will.

Your character gets up one morning in the usual fashion, but the sun never rises. What do they do?

Mel: "Haaaaaarth!"

Korra: Figure out who killed the Sun Spirit and punch their face in until they put it back. Avatar States may or may not be involved.

Dinah: Call Superman. Just to check he's on it and see if he needs any help.

Renee: Hope Superman's on it, and in the meantime get out into the nearest set of streets to make sure crime and looting is down and people don't need any help.

Bean is out in space, so the lights come on anyway...

Jack gets up anyway, and goes to see what the heck's going on.

Max hopes this isn't the Dark Sun returning earlier than expected... Coz, if it is, they're all doomed.

Erik's living underground these days, he's not aware, because the lights come on anyway.

Alfred checks a clock. And the date. Then he'd go about his business as usual. But, more heavily armed, in case of burglars. After the events of Begins, he'd see that Master Bruce is up and aware of what's going on...

Mark is doing whatever Cecil is telling needs to be done to fix the problem. Punching will probably be involved.

Paaanic panic panic panic. Then go find Twilight and find out what she's already figured out. (Seriously, Twilight is a) an early riser, b) a close friend of the pony who raises the sun, c) in possession of a direct line of communication to said pony, and d) the pony who put together (however unintentionally) the last effort to get the sun back. Also she's intelligent and analytical and lives in a library.)

I'll have to think about the humans' response.

All right, I've got Felix's. First step, he'd try to get a pigeon-message to Kraden, and possibly one to Jenna. Kraden's a lifelong scholar and the person most likely to be able to contact the others quickly, and Jenna's both fire-aligned and the person Felix cares more about than anyone else alive. Then he will take the fastest available route to Mount Aleph, as a useful meeting place, home of the Wise One, and some kind of Alchemy hub. Elements help anyone or anything that tries to get in his way. Once there, he'll see what Jenna, Garet, and Kraden have to say about the situation, and try to figure out a plan.

Charlie, like Renee, would be out on the streets to help. I have long pondered just what he was doing during The Final Night, Karl Kesel and Stuart Immonen's mid-90s miniseries where the Sun really did go out.

Cy, however, wouldn't call Superman. He'd get on it right away and look for other scientifically minded heroes to work with him.

Knox, after suppressing utter panic, would be out there covering the story.

Howard, like Cy, would be trying to get to the bottom of things as a scientist. He might have to invent something to help.

Captain Kirk would quickly get back to his ship, if he could. And odds are he'd fix the problem first.

And Gibbs would know that it's the end of the world, and run to the nearest church to repent.

AHA.

AHAHA.

AHAHAHA.

Um.

Panic, and then try desperately to find out what went wrong before her world is overrun by vampires worse than it already is. And before she, you know, keels over.

Will would pray as he worked to keep things in Nottingham from getting worse.

Charles would worry, check on everyone he knows and try to find Iris to see if she knows anything.

Sameth would reach down to the Charter to see if he can find an answer and then start researching. I imagine his family would go into save the world mode.

William would quietly panic, but try to hide it as he doesn't want to worry Mark or his mother. Then he would do his best to go around as if everything was normal just better armed.

Moist would hang around Unseen University to find out what a wizard did to break the Disc.

Jane would end up praying with her family who try and keep people from worrying.

Demeter would go up to Olympus to figure out who to yell at.

Tumnus would first panic and then go be with Lucy and find out what he can do to help.

The Pirate King would sleep in and then try and get a fix on what's happening and calm his pirates.

Lohengrin doesn't like the way I'm eyeballing this DE. Not that I have any particular idea of what I'd do with it beyond making dumb jokes about roosters but something wants to happen.

As for my others, Mia would surely be one of the first people informed and on the case about it. And Lucas-

Oh, poor Lucas baby. ;.;

Facile question. Spend majority of time on board spacecraft traveling through interstellar regions. No appreciable proximity to any specific star, let alone in an orbital configuration allowing for standard diurnal cycle. Granted, question might be assuming planetside location involved, but other false assumption comes into play. Namely, likelihood of sleep cycle spanning day/night divide. Humans waste third of their lives unconscious. Most salarians sleep one hour out of twenty-five. Personally, not fond of that much time taken out of my schedule. Prefer ten-minute naps scattered around clock at reasonable intervals. *inhaaaale* Would be more surprised if sun did rise while I was asleep, frankly.

Henry: panic, run to Emma, try to figure out who did it and why (probably blame Regina, sigh) and go "okay how do we fix?"

Tavi: Stare, get somewhat angrily concerned; check to see if it's Canish sorcery; check to see if it's bizarre crafting; try to discover if it's something else; start coming up with probably crazy ideas to solve it.

Lois, tl;dr: most of canon, randomly do stuff; late/post canon: assume Superman's on it and worry over him, go after the story.
Lois, 4-7+much of 8: stare, freak, decide it's a meteor freak thing and try to hunt them down/figure out a fix, find info and share with Clark and/or Chloe, kick ass, get supersaved and not know it was Clark.
Lois, S8-9: Freak, get in touch with the Blur, get in touch with Ollie, start hunting down information, share info with Clark, kick ass, get supersaved, write an awesome article, and have a chat with the Blur and/or Clark later.
Lois, season 10+: Freak, check if Clark is physically and power-wise okay, call Ollie and/or other Leaguers, call Emil Hamilton for science and Clark's powers, start researching cause and possible solution, kick ass, get supersaved, write an awesome article, private celebration with Clark after. Once she's met Bruce and Babs she will call them--possibly before Oliver & Co--to make sure they're on it and have Clark's back.

Ben (after making sure it isn't a prank of Johnny's): REEEEED!

Andrea arms up and heads out to help keep order while those with more power figure out what happened. At least that's what she'd want to do. Her boss might have other ideas.

Hank at first thinks it must be an eclipse but would know of any expected ones. He'd then get on the phone with the nearest astronomer and start working on the problem.

Aang Before or after he panicked because he thinks he's slept through the invasion?

Bumi Calls home to find out what in great rutting hogmonkeys is going on. If no one answers he, and his entire crew, goes AWOL and full steams to Republic City.

Mike and Splinter arm themselves to the teeth and prepare for one form of badness or another.

Raph gives Abigail one of his katana, and then abuses the doorways to Milliways until he's sure Alanna, Adam, the Kids, Jon, and Theyet are fine. Then...he starts punching things.

Ida yawns as she sends out a message to the MiddleWatches.

The Loompas try not to look guilty.

I'm pretty sure this happened in Gotham once. Steph went out protecting the streets. And fell through a warehouse ceiling, or something. It was a while ago, and, you know, just another day in Gotham City.

Aradia hasn't lived on a planet for a while, and the Medium doesn't really have a conventional "sun" anyway. There's Skaia, which is some sort of weird luminous planet thingy; and the Green Sun, which is way off in the Furthest Ring, twice the size of our universe, and, er, green.

Dr Thurlow would not notice due to the lack of sun in an underground cavern, except perhaps if news of the Sun disappearing arrived from the Surface sometime after the fact. If they got such news from a reliable source, then they would freak out. Whether they would be equipped to try and do something about this situation depends on their canon point; if this happened fairly late in their canon then their options include "try to extract further information on the sun disappearance from the Masters of the Bazaar, because if anyone would know what's going on it's them" and "ill-advised attempt to communicate with the sun using a dangerous arcane language".
