"Yes and now the work kitchen actually has good Earl Grey though anything from here is better. I could get a date scone, I haven't had one of those in years. Please do, I'm having a quiet moment."

[timelessinventor]

Helena takes a seat and orders a full British tea from a rat. "There, darling. That should make you feel quite better." She smiles softly. "Has it been a difficult time lately?"

[ceitfianna]

"It has. Its been raining steadily for the last two weeks and I found out that my current job won't be renewed, so now I'm getting ready for another job search. Thank you. I miss the way they did tea in New Zealand. In the United States, its never quite as good though some shops do a really nice effort."

[timelessinventor]

"Oh dear. It is quite difficult when one cannot find employment." Helena's face is concerned. "I do so hope you find something."

The tea arrives and Helena makes and pours with all of the grace of the Victorian lady she most of the time is. "I have always wished to travel to New Zealand. It sounds like an amazing and fascinating place." She pauses, making a face. "And, I must say, everything in America does seem quite unlike the way things ought be."

"I know I'll find someplace else to work, its just hard that my first job after finishing graduate school didn't work out. There were a lot of troubles with it due to communication and other things and I know that I can do this job. It is, New Zealand is wonderful, one of the best places I've ever lived."

[timelessinventor]

"Ah. The perils of an education." Helena smiles, quite warmly. "It is good to know, however, that in the future graduate school is open to anyone who wishes to take advantage of it."

She takes a sip of her tea. "That is certainly good to know. Perhaps I will be able to have a adventure one day."

[ceitfianna]

"And working in education, schools are complicated places. Graduate school isn't easy but it does work out. I'm glad I went since it showed me what I could do,"

She wraps her hands around her mug of tea before taking a long sip.

[timelessinventor]

"I take my metaphorical hat off to you, darling. Anyone who gives their life to the education of others is a worthy person indeed." She smiles.

[ceitfianna]

"I like spending time with the kids and learning more of how their minds."

[timelessinventor]

"Minds are fascinating things." Helena smiles, taking another long drink of tea. "I have always wished I could spend more time with children."

[ceitfianna]

"They're fascinating and sometimes annoying because they're always poking at the world to see how it works."

[timelessinventor]

"Ah, but poking at the world to see how it works is an excellent way of spending time, darling."

[ceitfianna]

"It is, and only really a problem when too many things start to break. I think that got me in trouble, I was willing to give them a place to play and poke even if things fell apart. That wasn't what they expected a library to be."

[timelessinventor]

"Ah. But is a library not supposed to be a place of fascination and of learning?" She sighs deeply. "I think they have been talking to the publishing establishment of my time. 'Oh, that's nice, young lady, we can't publish something like that'."

[ceitfianna]

"I thought so, a place that you wanted to be to work and play, that's how I've always seen them. The kids have found it to be that. Oh yes, they were behind the times and didn't want to hear me say if you want to rebuild, here are ways to take it. They never saw me as someone who's opinion counted and I couldn't get through to them. I tried, I listened and watched but just couldn't get the language right. Next time, I'll be better at getting details of how everything will work. And I'll leave a lot of detail for the person who follows me so they don't go in blind."

[timelessinventor]

"Always a good idea, darling." Helena smiles again. "I have never understood why people refuse to communicate. It only makes everything worse."

[ceitfianna]

"I think they thought they were communicating with me, our styles were just too different. And they didn't want to hear that they did anything wrong."

[timelessinventor]

"Of course they did not want to hear they were wrong. No one does, my dear." Helena shakes her head.

[ceitfianna]

"No, of course not. Still, I ended up making some good changes and learning a lot. Now its almost the weekend."

[timelessinventor]

"And that, darling is always a good thing. Taking time for one's self in the middle of chaos."

[ceitfianna]

"Yes, tomorrow there will be brunch with a friend and there's tea, good books and Milliways."

"Good. What sort of books do you enjoy?"

[ceitfianna]

"A bit of everything but my favorites are mysteries, fantasies and romances. This has been a year when I've wanted some good escaptist reads."

[timelessinventor]

"I have always been fond of mysteries myself. I have always believed that mystery will be a genre that will be quite popular in the future."

[ceitfianna]

"It truly is and has acquired lots of variations from ones that have magic, set in different eras and all types of heroes and heroines."
