hey britmuns (slightly off-topic)

Have any of you gone to see the summer exhibit at the Bodleian? Because I'm feeling pretty envious (Tolkien, Pullman, Cooper(!), Garner, and oh all right, Lewis too).

(No, not dead! Well, mostly I'm not. RL has been very RL for a while now.)

I once saw the desk that Tolkien wrote The Hobbit on. And The Wardrobe that CS Lewis used for inspiration. I actually sat in it when the museum minder wasn't looking. :D?

... That sounds amazing! I wish I could afford to get to Oxford - maybe if I get the job I'm hoping on!

It's a bit far for me, given the Atlantic Ocean being in the way. Though what I really wish I could get to right now is the Ft. Worth Museum of Science's PUBlic Knowledge for this week. David Brin, Todd McCaffery, and Robert J. Sawyer talking about science fiction over local brews, with a showing of "Star Trek: Into Darkness" on the IMAX afterward.

Hmm...

*looks up train tickets to Oxford from Birmingham*

Thanks for the heads up!
