Gibbs was always confused by the humming lights and other signs of the future. The idea of steamships offends him. Oddly, he was more comfortable with far future tech. I guess it always seemed like magic in a way that electric lights and steamships don't.

None of my other pups ever needed to explain future tech to anyone. Which is good since most would have a lot of trouble making sense.
