Milliwise, I finally finished thoseGarynOOMs and, even more finally, advanced into full-on Morrowind canon. He's also begun an interesting conversation with Charles.
This week, I started the long and arduous process of finding a new roommate for my apartment. But you don't want to hear about that. You want to hear about the time I met Tommy Wiseau at The Room this Saturday.
My brothers and I arrived at about 11:15, and the line for ticket holders stretched around the block. Fortunately, the line for pictures and autographs with Tommy Wiseau and Greg Sestero was a separate line and somewhat shorter. He was standing right there - wearing a gradient purple shirt, a pink tie, and, for some reason, two belts. One of the belts was at waist level and the other was at crotch level. The crotchbelt was a terrible thing, the purpose of which I was too afraid to ask. I had never seen any human wear two belts like this. Greg Sestero...well, he didn't look like he wanted to die, which is a step up from where he was the last time I saw him at Uptown.
In order to get your picture taken, you needed to first purchase a piece of official The Room merchandise. Figuring it was worth paying for, I bought a $15 talking plush Doggie (of "O hai doggie" fame) and took my place in line.
When it came to be my turn, I shook Tommy's hand and questioned whether he'd be able to sign Doggie - there wasn't much room, even on his ass.
"This is America, evruhthing's possible, don't you know that?" he said. On the back of Doggie's head he wrote "to Ben - Love is blind. Tommy W." If he had just said and done that, I would have been perfectly happy with paying $15 and getting these two pictures with Tommy, Greg, Doggie, and me.
But it didn't end there. See, my brothers, perhaps a little intimidated, perhaps a little unsure of whether they were allowed to have their picture taken having not bought something themselves, and perhaps a little too busy taking my picture, hadn't participated. So as we started walking away, Tommy Wiseau literally grabbed my brother Joe, and with a bizarre, half-happy leprechaun, half-Jack Torrence smile on his face, yanked him back to the photo zone.
"Hey, where you going? Come back here! I strangle you!"
And insisted we have our picture taken as a whole group.
After a rather long wait (presumably so he could sign as many autographs as he could, they finally came out for a Q&A. They gave a coy semi-answer to my question as to whether Tommy has read Greg's new book about the making of The Room. (A possible rift? I hope not - I want them to be doing this forever). Somebody asked him about the extra crotch belt. He whispered the answer to the guy who asked it, who dutifully kept his reasoning a secret.
The show that followed was great - the crowd had a bunch of neophytes who got to experience the film for the first time (it's always best to take someone along who hasn't seen it before) as well as some experienced veterans like me who knew all the best callbacks ("What's on the box, what's on the box? Animal crackers!")
So yeah. Tommy Wiseau is pretty much everything you could possibly dream he'd be and more. As I post this here at 3:30 am on a Sunday, I don't believe I have ever been happier to be alive than I am at this moment.
Definite app for next month. Many thanks to Cam, Eric, and Sharon Carter-mun for throwing their pups at my headvoice. For those so inclined, the post is open until Connor's first entrance into Bar proper.
Mostly, I'm just squeeing uncontrollably at this OOM. Helena and Howard are surprisingly (to me, at least) adorable.
However, in larger, more important news... it's minkhollow and my seven year anniversary together. We met here (I thought she was hella intimidating because she was so very good) and, well, I wouldn't change it for anything. Love you, my darling.
I got what looks like a tiny good job on last Tuesday! (That finally replaced the one I got before it working 11 hr days, in an really verbally abusive environment, and smacking me head first into massive bad place, where I couldn't find the energy to be awake, no less writing.)
So I'm hoping this week I can get back to writing and all the threads I was in!
If anyone needs fading just tell me, and if not I'll be getting to them tonight/tomorrow if I can.
I've mainly been focusing on the handful of threads I have going and tying up loose ends, which means skating party stuff, snowmanigans with Korra, and being seen in public with Kate (and also being jealous of Howard Stark).
Testing this lady on a whim, and she's been fun so far. She'll probably get her own post in pfsb or mixed_muses sometime in the near future, as I keep testing out the voice!
I will stop squealing about this on every social media platform eventually, I swear. Probably when I get a look at the workload, and break into pieces. But until then: OXFORD. :D :D :D :D
In RP news, I have a few threads in the process of winding up, and I will link back later if they get there. I will also crack on with the fic prompts from Friday, now I'm home from London.
Its been a pretty quiet week for me, I went to see a friend, another school called me though it didn't really work out. Otherwise, I've mainly been doing various things to prep for moving.
Charles and Iris had some plot, I love their relationship and have missed it. He has an EP that's still open.
Demeter talked with Steve, she's been quiet but this was a sweet thread. I might see about giving her an EP soon.
Moist had an EP that was fun and still open, he was also cute with Joshua. His interactions with Autor always make me laugh.
William got teased by Katya and if anyone has a character that they think would be cute with him, let me know. There was also an incredibly awkward conversation with Javert.
In other places, Will and Sherral sparred and were fascinating. Sameth met Switzerland and this is a neat thread.
I wrapped up two slowtimes this week! Gaeta and Boyd, which goes exactly as well as you'd expect, and Gaeta and Grantaire, which is probably the start of the WORST ACQUAINTANCESHIP EVER. (...okay, the characters involved think it's the best! The muns, however, are wincing with pained laughter.)
Elsewhere, I joined the rest of the internet in falling head-over-heels for Welcome to Night Vale, to the point where I actually wrote meta for the first time in...sheesh, probably five years or so. BUT SERIOUSLY YOU GUYS IT IS SO GOOD. SO GOOD. *FLAPPYHANDS OF DELIGHT*
I am in Iceland! It is amazing! There is Egil beer! Threading happens only slowly, because of all that, but I did crack through a snag that needed a lot of cogitation and now know how Hannibal defines "rude".
Awesome Week

And eventually he got into an ideological furball with Sherral.
