ATTN: ALL

Milliway's is swiftly approaching the 100-member mark *boggles*, and even between the two of us, [livejournal.com profile] villainny and I are having a hard time keeping track of all the players. I doubt I've spoken to even a third of them, sorry excuse for a mod that I am. So, I thought it'd be a nice idea to have a sort of Introductions Thread, where you can drop by and tell us a little bit about yourself, maybe your character, plug your journal/site, whatever takes your fancy. Anything at all, really, just so that more players can get to know each other.

So. *cough*

My name is Sophie ([livejournal.com profile] copinggoggles), and, as you can see, I'm playing as the marvelous Pterry/Gneil creation that is the demon A.J. Crowley. This is my first RP and, despite the fact that Milliway's has devoured any semblance of a life I may have had (and, me being on GMT, kicked my sleeping habits eight ways from Sunday), I am having a blast. Considering that Milliway's was conceived of and created just a shade over two weeks ago (by a smashingly drunk [livejournal.com profile] villainny*), and that we now have two sub-communities as well as official merchandise (!), I'd wager everyone else is too.

*personally, I find this rather appropriate.

Am a fandomer to the core, and current major obsessions include (but are not limited to) the big guns (ie. HP, PotC, LotR, etc...), X-Men (comic-verse and movie-verse), Cowboy Bebop, Trigun and Priest on the anime/manga side, Good Omens (obviously), the Discworld series, Neverwhere, Alexander the Great (the person, not any of those Manfredi novels or that damn movie), Macbeth... uh... okay, that's all I can think of off the top of my head. I also have a huge weak spot for musicals and old Errol Flynn movies. And one day, I'll have enough money to start buying the Sandman series.

I am a born procrastinator, and find that an excellent way of doing so is by making icons. If you so wish, the results of my time-wasting can be found at Iconography. *cough*shamelessplug*cough*

I have double-jointed fingers, and an autographed photo of Alan Cumming on my wall.

I've drunk 80% absinthe straight. It stops burning after a little while. No, really.

Now it's your turn. Go.

*grins* Sophie has intimidated me with the length of her introduction. Don't expect that here, folks.

My name's Abby (and I recently found out that it's acceptable from the Humane Naming Society place- who would've thought?), and I play Luna Lovegood from the Harry Potter series. If you haven't read the fifth book in the series yet (how is your rock, by the way?), you won't have a clue who she is.

I'm a one fandom kind of girl (Harry Potter), but I do read some Good Omens, Discworld, and Troy when I get bored. I get bored often. ADD, me? Never. Also, slash. Mmm. Yes.

I lurked a while on milliways before joining the insanity, as I assume almost everyone did, so I came fully addicted (and ha! Five hours behind England!). It was rather pathetic.

I get stupidly excited over the littlest things, am crazy bad fangirl, and might just die of an aneurysm someday. Or faint. Either or, I'm not picky.

I'm a baby history/lit geek, madly in love with Alexander the Great (good choice, [livejournal.com profile] copingoggles *snerk*) and Shakespeare (and yes, I slash the characters in my head. There is nothing holy.)

I'm not very active in any part of fandom except reading fics. I'm very good at that. I'm a crazy mad speed-reader, and I get it from my mom. Sleep is good, but Milliways is better.

I'm going to have to kill myself in September when school starts again.

Why does this suddenly feel like an AA meeting? *g* No, really, great idea. I'd love to get to know all of you a bit better.

My name is Meghan, aka Nymphadora Tonks, aka [livejournal.com profile] indy_go. I'm 23 years old, and am currently attending grad school with the intention of earning a Master's degree in Public History and Museum Studies. I also work at a really small but very cool medical history museum that features a lovely collection of diseased brains in jars. (No, I swear, it's fascinating.)

Other things...this is my first RP, too. In fact, I just got an LJ account a couple of months ago. Most of my previous fandom experience has been Harry Potter-oriented; I've been a regular at Fiction Alley for a while. I have written HP fanfics, which probably aren't very good but were very enjoyable to create, and if anyone would like to read them I will point you in the right direction.

Oddities of Me: I am six feet tall. I obsessively collect anything to do with hedgehogs, as well as ghost story anthologies from anywhere I visit. I've spent a significant amount of time in Germany, partly because my family hosted a German exchange student for a year when I was sixteen, and he's the only sibling I have. Singing with jazz/swing bands is my favorite extra-curricular activity.

My cat's name is Fred. He says hey.

[identity profile] darthrami.livejournal.com 2004-07-15 03:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Those kinds of museums freak me right the hell out. My family loves 'em, though.

Well then. I am Lynette [livejournal.com profile] miraielle for vague amounts of fandom stuff, or [livejournal.com profile] kidpeggy for actual stuff. I play Door and Ingress and Ophelia. (What am I thiiiinkiiiiing?)

My major fandoms include (but are not limited to) Harry Potter, Babylon 5, anything Neil Gaiman, Lord of the Rings, The Tribe, Invader Zim, Tom Stoppard, Shakespeare.... okay, I'll stop, shall I? I don't actually participate in any kind of fannishness for all of those, but I loff them.

I'm an utter theater dork, with a dash of regular nerddom thrown in for good measure.

Before joining Milliways, I had never heard of absinthe.

My name is Jill, and I'm RPing [livejournal.com profile] otherwhiterider and [livejournal.com profile] artsmartscarlet in the bar's environs. This is my third LJ-based RPG (Pestilence is a carryover from the first one, and I don't have either of my [livejournal.com profile] discworld_rpg characters here).
Fandom: Started in Daria, now am primarliy in GO and Discworld. Occasionally dabble in other things. AUs and mad crossovers are my specialty, and sometimes I feel like I'm the only person who writes Horsepersons fanfic.
Currently live in the civilised-ish area of Ohio (between Cincinnati and Dayton), and will be heading to Massachusetts for college in the fall.

[identity profile] a-tendo.livejournal.com 2004-07-15 02:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Err, all right. I'm Rebekah Jean Agnes Janet Clara 'Perdita'(a nickname that a friend who likes Discworld gave just because she thinks it's hilarious anyone would choose to put Agnes in their name)( [livejournal.com profile] erie_potter ) , but most people I know call me Erie mainly due to the fact that the length of my normal name is long enough to inspire tears, so one more can't hurt. I play Tendo Akane, as you can obviously see, who is from the absolutely squee-worthy anime/manga 'Ranma 1/2'. It's my first RP, as can easily be seen from the way Akane's been acting lately. My only defense is that she is supposedly nice to strangers who don't intend to marry or kill her (exempting Ryoga, who as she has no clue about, does not count). And she'll lose it soon, I promise. I just have to find a good opening *smiles a bit sheepishly*.

I read more than can be considered entirely healthy for a girl my age, and want to write children's fantasy when I'm a grown-up. I've been into anime since I was four years old, so I'm a young old-timer. It's more sad than impressive, really. I'm a fan of both J.K. Rowling and Diana Wynne Jones (although leaning more towards DWJ, 'cause of the whole 'idolizing' thing, I've the biggest book crush in the world on Howl, and come on, she based something a character of her's does on Neil Gaiman. I want to be her so badly). Obviously, I like book politics, they make me laugh and cry as much as any other story. I'm thoroughly obsessed with any adventure type books and movies, although I'm especially in love with William Goldman's stuff. My copies of 'Temple of Gold' and 'The Princess Bride' have honestly been commited to memory. I used to make my sister scream just by say 'The year Buttercup was born...' *grins* I'm a horrible person for enjoying that, I know. I chalk it up to the fact that I am utterly insane, and v. v. evil. I love nonsense contests and the looks I get everytime I play. I've seen 'Grosse Point Blank' many MANY times, just because of my John Cusack obsessed sister. And you know, it's such a cool movie. *laughs* Hmm, I love to talk, so if I start rambling, just smack me (in ooc, of course. I'll understand, but Akane has a temper so...)

I think that's it. Anything else?

I'm Artemisia (go ahead and laugh. just go ahead), aka Hob Gadling, aka [livejournal.com profile] dredpiratejenny. I'm 20 and about to return to a Classics degree after spending a year playing in a rock band and drinking too much. I'm really very sweet and shy, and the only thing Hob and I have in common is our tendency to snark.

This is my first RPG. I'm a Harry Potter freak (embarrassing photographs do exist of an awkward teenaged me in costume for the Goblet of Fire release, but they are locked away and will be burned upon my death) and also a fan of Discworld, Good Omens, Neverwhere, Tom Stoppard, anything Shakespearean or Classical, and Dunnett's Lymond Chronicles which don't have a fandom but they need one goddammit. I don't watch TV and haven't for two years, so I tend to be a bit out of the loop with those fandoms.

I spend most of my time cycling, knitting, and writing. I secretly kind of like white zinfandel. I have a tattoo of a hamsa hand on my right arm. For a while I played violin in the subway in New York. I love dogs and hate cats, and yes: I know that means I'm going to the special hell. I also have a tendency to let Britishism seep into my everyday speech, which is especially hilarious with a Texas accent.

I am so addicted to this game. : )

[identity profile] glorious-figure.livejournal.com 2004-07-15 06:48 pm (UTC)(link)
OMG I thought I was the only one with the whole freaky British/Texas accent thing going on!

[identity profile] marion-kerby.livejournal.com 2004-07-15 02:57 pm (UTC)(link)
My name is Shelley, though I go by [livejournal.com profile] jedi_penguin on LJ. I've been in Buffy for a few years, writing almost exclusively Giles-centric fics, but have been moving into HP over the course of the last few months. Shy, bespectacled Brit, kind demeanor but with a hidden dark side... Hm... Can't imagine what the attraction might be...

This is my first RP, even though I *swore* I was never going to do one. But when I heard the premise of Milliways, I immediately thought of my all-time favorite book by Thorne Smith and couldn't resist. "Topper" was written in 1926, partly in protest of The Prohibition, and features a staid banker who is plagued by four drunken ghosts and their hideous dead dog. Marion Kerby is my favorite of the bunch, totally outrageous and completely immoral. I thought she might be fun to play.

Random fact: I knew that I would never find icons for Marion, so that prompted me to FINALLY figure out how to make my own. This is my very first one, so yay me! Luckily, "Topper" was made into a movie starring Cary Grant in the 1930's so I was able to find screencaps and movie posters.

And I had heard of absinthe before. I think it is the one and only thing I remember learning in a college course on Modern Art. I'm such a Philistine...

I'm kinda doomed.

I'm working on my MFA, a short-story mosaic.

Well, I'm [livejournal.com profile] shati in sort-of-real life. I'm seventeen (eighteen soon! whee), and spending the summer studying Mandarin in Wisconsin. This RPG is so not helping my study habits.

Fandomly speaking, I've dabbled in the big stuff, Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter, and am deeply fond of Good Omens fandom, but my true loves are the manga Angel Sanctuary (I'm thinking of bringing in one of the angels, because of course there aren't enough already) and, of course, the anime Shoujo Kakumei Utena, which is my drug of choice.

I am aware that cats are superior to dogs, that they are, in fact, as gods upon the earth, and worship them accordingly. Whenever I see chipmunks, which is often here, I have to stop and stare at them delightedly for at least five minutes before I can move on.

I have "I Am a Rock" stuck in my head. At home I eat Ramen noodle soup every single day, sometimes more than once.

I am anti-turtle porn.

And Utena rules, truly. Although I spent a few months very afraid of the movie. Because the drugs are apparent there, really.

Hullo, all! I'm Haviva, known as [livejournal.com profile] dramaturgca her in the happy, happy world of LJ. I'm 19 and on my way towards my second year as a theatre/history double major with a minor in english(and maybe classics if I can find time to take Latin) As Selkie pointed out, I do the theatre lighting thing, what she didn't say is that I also sound design (I heart ProTools!), and stage manage, though dramaturgy is my true love.
I'm a life long fangirl, I started with Mathnet (squee!) and went on to Shakespeare. I currently do Buffy, HP, LotR, Stargate, Classics, Star Trek, Star Wars, and anything else that isn't nailed down... I'm a musicals junkie, which disturbs my brother no end. This is my first RPG and I love it, 'cause it's acting where no one can see you...

Oh, yeah, my characters are [livejournal.com profile] sweet_beatrice, the Shakespearean smutmonger with Sappho, [livejournal.com profile] magick_willow, she who is witch, and *ahem* [livejournal.com profile] musical_muse, Lady Tere (Euterpe), the one who makes everyone sing...

My major fandoms are the Vampire Chronicles, X-Men, HP (though it’s MWPP and Sev all the way, I have no time for the trio,) Velvet Goldmine, Stargate SG-1 (Jack/Daniel) Good Omens, (A/C, obviously) U2, (it’s a legit fandom. Bandslash, yay!) PTerry and/or Gneil. I like to think I’m over my PotC, LotR and Buffy stages, but occasionally I relapse. It’s weird, I generally like slash pairings where one is the bookish type, and one is the wild, just, well, cool! type. (Remus/Sirius, Aziraphale/Crowley, Daniel/Jack, Edge/Bono) Does anyone else like this formula?

I’m a Literature geek, (or would like to be, as I have University interviews to revise for) and a Classics geek who is, actually, rather bitter about the whole ā€˜Troy’ thing. Achilles used to be MINE, dammit.
I like to live entirely in the world of fanon, as canon scares me. (Sirius is dead? What? Lalalala. Can’t hear you!!) Real life? Scares me even more. (Speaking of RL, I’d like to take this opportunity to apologise now if my character ever disappears on you. My stepdad likes to disconnect me if he thinks I’ve been online for too long. Wtf? Our internet is free, dammit!)

I play Lestat because there is NO female character in literature that I identify with. Someday I'm going to create one.

That… seems to be all. Me? So dull.
xxx

*grins* I do the exact same thing. In fact, wrote a fic where he just went to go live on a farm and I've almost convinced myself that's the truth. So, you're not alone.

You don't sound dull! Literature geeks never are.

Hello, all. My name is Andrea. I play Guildenstern from Tom Stoppard's play Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead ([livejournal.com profile] mydearguil) and Lyra Silvertongue from Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials books. By day I am a graduate student working towards a PhD in medieval literature; at night I read fantasy novels and fanfic and consider how everything is somehow related to the twelfth-century historian Geoffrey of Monmouth (http://www.lib.rochester.edu/camelot/geoffrey.htm). Oh yes, and as of tomorrow I will officially be a resident of the State of California, even though I've been living here for almost a year already.

I have double-jointed fingers, and an autographed photo of Alan Cumming on my wall.

I have no autographed, picture, but I did meet him. And he was HIGH as a KITE. Utterly fabulous.

Hi, I'm Rami, [livejournal.com profile] darthrami, and I'm playing [livejournal.com profile] fevered_dreams - Rodya Raskolnikov from Crime and Punishment. I like tall people with a sense of humour, who enjoy long walks around a lake and setting shit on fire.

This is my second online RPG - third if you count the bbs based one I did back in the stone age. I only joined the first one about a month and a half ago, and that's the crack-addled [livejournal.com profile] restituere where I play [livejournal.com profile] a_weasley Arthur Weasley. After a bit of an... incident, shall we say, I somehow allowed myself to be conned into be a Mod over there, and after all the stress and insanity, [livejournal.com profile] essayal ([livejournal.com profile] gil_whimple) said "come play at the bar!" and I did. The end.

Online, fandom-wise, I've floated through Homicide, Oz, Sports Night, West Wing, The Sentinel, Due South, Harry Potter and Smallville. I'm sure I missed some. Obsessively fannish-wise, there are far too many to name, but I'm a bit of a movie ho and have a huge weakness for all things Russian. I'm a music and theatre geek to the core and have an original release theatrical poster of "Swing Kids" on my wall.

And one of my teeth is rotated 180 degrees.

and once you get me talking, I NEVER SHUT UP.

Hello, again, all.

I posted yesterday that I'm Madb (May-veh) and will be your Morpheus.

I am dual majoring in Graphic Arts and Accounting. I have a love affair with cloth, and the drawing thereof.

Other than that, I'm pretty boring.

Hi, I'm Sarah and I can quit any time I want to.

I play the fool from the wonderful Robin Hobb books. During the day I'm a mild mannered biology student. I'm two days away from being 21, which means nothing over here because you can drink at 18. so it is utterly and completely depressing.

um. I read way too much, but have no clue about literature. This is because I read the same books over and over. But I cried buckets over the Sandman books and never read the kindly ones again.

I don't think I have fandoms. Just stuff I like. Is there a difference?

This is my first RP and... woah. That's all I can say.

Um. This post is disjointed and uninformative. It suits me well.

Uh, hi.

My name's Karen. I can be found on lj as both [livejournal.com profile] ms_ntropy and [livejournal.com profile] ms_nthalpy. The former being me, and the latter being my evil twin. Yes, I did just draw bad goatees on all my user icons. I'm not ashamed to admit it.

I'm playing the bar's resident hero on the halfshell, Raph. *waves*
While this game is not my first rpg ever, it is my first online rpg ever. It also marks my return from a 5 year retirement from game. There was this thing, in college, with vampires. I'd rather not talk about it. Needless to say, all my D&D, and 10 sided dice are now sleeping peacefully at the bottom of my Turtle's Aquarium. And no, she is not named after an Italian painter.

I consider myself an equal opportunity geek. I enjoy Pratchett, Gaimen, the Whedon-verse, and the collected works of JK Rowling. I prefer Marvel to DC, but will always have a soft spot for Batman and Harley Quinn.

As for strange tidbits about me. Yes, I was a die hard turtle junkie back in the proverbial day. SO much that when a friend of mine came to my house to visit, she took one look at my bedroom and told me she had no idea I had a little brother. *sigh*

Oh yes, and I broke my middle finger on my left hand two weeks ago. A window fell on it. How very Tex Avery of me. I've been keeping an eye out for anvils ever since. So if you notice grammar and spelling errors, it's totally the broken finger's fault. Seriously. I'm not kidding. *sigh*

Hi. I'm Heather, and I play Fleur Delacour from the Harry Potter series. You can find my actual journal at wickedtrue if you’re so inclined, but don’t be really for I am lazy and do not update often enough.

I’m 20, and starting my third year on my double technical theatre/classical history degree with a dance minor. I’m told this in and of itself makes me insane but look at all the books! Do you not hear their siren call? My focuses are in stage management and costume construction, which is very whee. I am also very fond of the fact that I am a spreadsheet nerd, a book geek, and have just recently discovered the fun of iconing. Dodedo, to Adobe or Excel, that is the question.

Hm…what else? I’m only 5'3", and a proper little southern belle. Sounds about it.

[identity profile] sweet-beatrice.livejournal.com 2004-07-15 06:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, except for the proper southern belle thing *coughCaliforniancough*, we're nearly twins!

[identity profile] wielder-00.livejournal.com 2004-07-15 04:27 pm (UTC)(link)
As a frequent lurker who got sucked to the dark side of RPG *cough*Milliways'*cough*, I think this introduction thread is a great idea [and yes [livejournal.com profile] clumsy_auror, it does feel like a AA meeting :)] I'm Katie ([livejournal.com profile] flyakate when I'm feeling me), 21, and I'm spending the summer trying to forget that next year I'll be a senior in college, that much closer to finishing an English major and trying to decide what to do with my life. However, this seems to be a problem across all disciplines and walks of life, so I'm not too concerned.

I play the newly arrived Detective Sara Pezzini (her friends call her Pez) and despite the fact that she comes from a tv show--"Witchblade", which got canceled off TNT, the idiots, about three years ago--I do read more than I should. Yes, I frightened my sister with the speed with which I read HP 5. I picked Sara ([livejournal.com profile] wielder_00 because she's a badass with a leather jacket who might mix well with the... er, crowd.

But sorry, back to me. I read too much and write incessantly, and enjoy many fandoms (HP, PotC, LotR, Stargate, big L&O junkie, and Neil Gaiman *runs, hides* This is my first online RPG (I played Vampire in high school briefly I mean...) and I find it highly fantabulous and addictive. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] muddied_petticoats and [livejournal.com profile] _loony for talking to me on my first real day of gaming. *

I love acting in all of its forms (I've done crew, acted, and directed from Shakespeare to 'Marat Sade') and my friends and I seem to be creating theater grous on our college campus at the rate of approximately one a week.

Funny story about absinthe: never had any in real life; but my friends and I made a 'Moulin Rouge' drinking game, where you drank every time they said the Important Things: Truth, Beauty, Freedom and Love *above all things Love*. Freedom was 'absinthe', which was really apple pucker. No burning for me please. It was hysterical.

Well, off to recheck the posts, to make sure I don't miss anything. Dial-up connection is sooooo not cool *whine* Nice to meet you guys!

Hi all, I am [livejournal.com profile] vivien529 and I play Tom Riddle. This is my first RP,and I had no idea what I was getting myself into.

I am currently clinging to the shredded remains of my early 30's to no avail, but I feel much, much younger. So ladies (and gentleman/men) there is hope for retaining a sense of fandom playfulness and for staying on-line way too late at night when you become ancient like me. Knowing how young you guys are I now want to make you chocolate chip cookies and share my hard earned wisdom ;)

This youthful feeling I have has something to do, I'm sure, with having taught preschool or kindergarten for the past 11 years. And no I do not corrupt young children with teh evil. Although we do have pirate days and read Where the Wild Things Are often ;)

I love fandom, and I've been on LJ now for almost two years. My main fandoms right now are Harry Potter and Good Omens, but I also love Buffy, Discworld, Sandman, Neverwhere, Lord of the Rings, and various and sundry shiny things that catch my attention. I am married to a great guy who watches inordinate amounts of golf and baseball which allows me get away with my crack addicted presence here. Marriage made in heaven, lemme tell ya.

I write stuff, too, and my website is Vivien's Vault. Oh and I was also in theater, I am also a history geek, and I am currently in grad school to get a masters in Information and Learning Technology to teach adults for a change. And get paid a lot better - the idealism wears off in about ten years and then you start saying "Damn I don't get paid crap!" by the way :P

Hi -- I'm Erica, playing as [livejournal.com profile] ah_rosencrantz from Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, and I might decide to take out Cailet from Melanie Rawn's Exiles series later on if I feel like it.

I can't write fanfic to save my life. I have vague and persistant interests in African drumming, tricksters, storytelling, poetry and writing stuff in general. I have recently acquired a taste for the huge chunks of sugar-encrusted ginger that Trader Joe's sells. I'm getting a social work degree, for whatever that's worth. (I'm currently taking a course on Assessment and Diagnosis, so if I thought about it, I could probably tell you all the ways that Milliways is not, actually, as addictive as crack, in the clinical sense. =P)

My fandoms do not actually include Stoppard, although I like the play a lot; I stick more with reading Harry Potter, Good Omens, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. And with reading whatever classical, literary, or historical fandoms get pointed out to me.

Stoppard's your fandom now. Our fandom now. *evil laugh* Just because no one writes it but us and [livejournal.com profile] ladyjaida doesn't mean it isn't a fandom.

Oh, did you see someone whine that there needed to be Enchanted Forest characters around here?

Erm. Right. So, I'm Jess. Hi. I have a couple of LJs: [livejournal.com profile] eyesofachild for personal purposes, and [livejournal.com profile] clearobscurity for writing/fandom/randomosity. I would say that I have a Milliways addiction, but admitting you have a problem is the first step to recovery, and I'm just not ready to take a step in that direction.

I have officially cracked, and have the three characters to prove it: [livejournal.com profile] muddypetticoats (Elizabeth Bennet from Pride and Prejudice), [livejournal.com profile] milliways_cow (The Cow from THGTTG's Milliways), and [livejournal.com profile] torollthedice (Mat Cauthon from The Wheel of Time).

I'm 22, fresh out of college with a degree in psychology and history of science, and in the middle of taking a year to do absolutely nothing academic. Given that I'm still unemployed and am flat broke, this isn't as cool as it sounds. I'm aiming for a PsyD program in the fall of 2005. In the meantime, I'm focusing on my writing. I write a lot of fiction, although I share relatively little of it. Surprisingly, I'm more of a nonfiction writer. I've got a book about NASA in the works. I swear it's not as boring as it sounds.

I play far too many instruments, sing too much, joke too much, procrastinate too much, read too much, swear too much, and know or am trying to learn far too many languages. If I'm not doing one of those things, I'm in the theater. Well, that was how it used to be, before I found Milliways. Now my life is just dead.

I do like piƱa coladas, and I adore getting caught in the rain. I'm not especially into yoga, cos my balance is a little off (damn inner ear), but health food isn't that bad. I would certainly hope that I have half a brain. As for my sexual practices, well, you'll have to take me out for dinner and a movie before you get to hear any of that.

I am also silly, snarky, and potentially batshit insane. Nice to meet everyone. :D

*stands up* Hello. My name is Traci, and I am a Milliways-aholic.

*looks around*

...despite the fact I just joined yesterday and haven't really "entered" the bar yet. But I've been reading all the threads I could find since it began. I fell in love with it, and finally got up the courage to join. I play Mogget from Garth Nix' books Sabriel, Lirael, and Abhorsen. He's a sarcastic, rather pedantic being, held in the shape of a cat against his will. I am also [livejournal.com profile] saphyria, which is just my rarely-updated, personal journal. My main areas of literature knowledge are HP, Discworld, Good Omens, WoT, Dark is Rising, His Dark Materials, Lord of the Rings, Shakespeare, and some of Neil Gaiman's writings (I've just started reading them).

Other Things About Me: This is my first RP, but since everyone else seems to be doing so well, I feel okay about this and not as intimidated as I once was. I'm the youngest child of four; my sister is twenty years older than me, and my identical twin brothers are ten years older than me. I collect anything and everything to do with hippopotami, and have over 70 trinkets, statues, and figures of them. I have a full-ride scholarship to the University I will be attending this fall, and am looking forward to visiting Great Britain for the first time in my life at the end of this month. I am a Southern Belle who loves to make animations and icons. *smirks*

I am allergic to cats, but ironically, I love cats... so I decided to play one in RP.

Hi, my name is Meghan ([livejournal.com profile] parcae), and I play Regulus Black from Harry Potter, he of very little canon.

My fandoms include Harry Potter, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Usual Suspects (for which there is less fandom than there should be, really), Good Omens, stuff Neil Gaiman has written, stuff Terry Pratchett has written, WoT, the Hitchhiker series, Buffy, Angel, and almost Stoppard. Our theater group put on 15-Minute Hamlet last year and I've seen almost all of R&G Are Dead (and hope to find the play soon).

I live in Buffalo, where the weather gods are insane, and sometimes visit North Carolina, where people freak out over an inch of snow (and I laugh). I'm going to school to be a biochem major, which mostly means that I can recite the formulas to various compounds if you tell me their IUPAC names or can name compounds if you give me their structure. And I'm halfway decent at common names. I knit badly, and have halfway-nonexistent social skills, and enjoyed myself far too much as Pyramus this spring.

I am a cat person who until recently lived with an enormous rottweiler/retriever mix. That was fun.
